Chapter 6: Shocking the Crowd.
The whole bullpen was silent, only heavy breathing from Rocky was echoing in the huge crowd, and everyone was looking at the pitcher, who was an unknown boy, and he looked extremely happy. The fat coach was just beside Lukas and fixing Lukas's stance.
"Young man, here you should take your right leg up in the air as much as possible and throw the ball with full momentum like this, as soon as your feet touch the ground, use your whole arm and the wrist, hold the ball like this so that you can be comfortable with the ball and use your whole shoulder, try it, " Coach said with a serious nod and then backed off.
Rocky, the college team ace, was breathing hard because no matter what he did, he couldn't hit the ball once when this boy in front of him pitched it.
As Lukas looked at Rocky as if to ask if he was ready or not, Rocky held his hand high to stop Lukas from pitching.
"Water? I need some water, " Rocky said, his voice was rough and not that charismatic anymore.
The nerdy boy from earlier who wrote Lukas's name on a sheet before ran with a bottle of water, Rocky chugged the whole bottle down in some seconds, then roughly tapped the nerdy boy on his shoulder and said something in his ear.
Nerdy boy nodded his head, then ran back with the empty bottle and came back with a helmet in his hand and gave it to Rocky.
Rocky put the helmet on without any shame, then positioned himself in the batter's box, then nodded at Lukas. Lukas positioned himself as the coach showed him earlier and pulled up his right leg in the air, and it went down with a waist-turning motion.
As soon as his waist turned, it made a cracking noise. Lukas felt comfortable all over his body and threw the ball super hard, he never expected he could throw that hard.
