Chapter 59: Making Plans part 2
As for the origins of the book, well, Aric had used the system to get the encyclopedia. There was nothing the system didn’t have; all he had to do was search for it and pay. Shockingly, it only cost him about 1000 gold, which is a good price for the knowledge that he would be getting.
"Ariel, Elisa, I need the both of you to really study the encyclopedia, hopefully as fast as possible. You’ll both need to be the ones to guide the farm.
I would have done it myself, but I realize that I can’t be at multiple places at once, so it’s better I start delegating more," Aric said. He glanced at Pentharis as he spoke.
"Now that the farming issue is out of the way, let’s turn our attention to the incoming battle. I had a little one-on-one time with the goblins we captured, and I got some useful information from them.
For one, it’s not the entire force of the forest terror that will be headed for us—it is a fraction. I don’t know if it is a probe or they underestimate us, but I see this as an opportunity for growth," Aric said.
"Huh? What do you mean, growth?" Ariel asked.
"Well, you see, the goblins are not working for the terror of their own free will. It’s more of a forced contract," Aric said. He took out the mana crystal and placed it on the table.
"That’s a mana crystal," Elisa said immediately as she saw it.
"Yes, that is what it is. Now, I don’t know how, but the terror managed to have some crude method of taking that used this crystal as a seal.
If the crystal is removed, the goblins are free. Now, I’m just guessing here, but I think some of the goblins will want to, or be willing to, be with us and fight against the terror for vengeance.
