Chapter 183
"Nathan, that’s not so kind, isn’t it?" Madeline scolded.
Nathan clicked his tongue. He felt so awkward in front of his mother, whom he hadn’t seen in years, feeling that they weren’t close enough for him to pay her a visit to the hospital.
On top of that, he also disliked being scolded by Madeline in front of anyone else; he only tolerated her scolding when they were alone.
Nevertheless, he begrudgingly followed what his sister told him to do and murmured, "Merry Christmas, Mom..."
"Nathan..." Diana tried getting up from the bed but was too weak to do that, so she called him instead, "Come here, son. I miss you so much."
Reluctantly, Nathan approached his mother.
He allowed Diana to hug him tightly, though it took him a moment before he hugged her back.
He felt awkward because visiting his mother hadn’t been his intention at all.
However, since Madeline requested it, he decided to go solely because he wanted his sister to be happy.
"How have you been, Nathan? How’s school?" Diana asked, pulling away from their embrace. She didn’t know where to start because she had hundreds of questions for her son.
