Diana stared at the window as she lamented over the fact that Madeline would never visit her again after their fight before.
She knew that both of them were stubborn, but she didn’t want Madeline to make the same mistake twice and get her life ruined again. She had already gone through enough.
Unfortunately, Zane also never visited her again after his last visit a month ago, and now she had to spend Christmas morning alone in the hospital.
She gazed at the other patients, watching as they enjoyed Christmas morning with their families in the garden below. She also heard the commotion from the next door as the patient was getting a visit from his grandchildren.

Diana reflected how she had neglected Nathan when he was young because she was so busy taking care of Madeline and helping her while she had a tour and a constantly busy schedule.
Thus, Nathan was raised by the nannies, and to some extent, he grew up alone.
