Chapter 135: Fighting the monster
Ember looked around and sighed deeply, noticing that she was in the middle of nowhere without any of her companions nearby. No matter where she looked, she could only find destruction and death.
However, in that place, just a few days ago, there had been a large and majestic forest. However, now it was difficult to find any trees nearby because that thing had destroyed everything in its path.
And soon the woman would meet the one who caused all this destruction.
"Just where the hell am I?..." She murmured leaving her hand to her chest. She didn’t have a good feeling about that place.
Anyway, she took a shaky step forward, her boots crunching on charred ash where green once ruled. The redhead wanted to look around if she could find some of her comrades, or at least a good place for shelter.
Then she felt something getting closer. The mana in the air was distorted. Her flames, normally swift and obedient, wavered around her.
Ember’s breath hitched as the ground beneath her trembled, a low rumble echoing through the desolate wasteland. Her fiery red hair whipped around her face as she turned, her green eyes narrowing to pinpoint the source of the disturbance.
The trees, or what little remained of them, groaned as a massive shadow moved just beyond the smoke in the horizon. Ember’s breath hitched. The presence she had sensed before was no longer hiding.
It stepped into view. Then she saw the massive shadow emerging from the ground, the arena boss.
It was a creature of nightmare, Its massive frame loomed over her, each step cracking the scorched earth, and its eyes, two burning coals, locked onto her with predatory intent.
The grotesque creature had a thick, chitinous armor, and jagged claws, longer than her forearm, dripped with some viscous, black substance.
