Chapter 136: Gathering the group
Davi walked through the forest for a good while without encountering any opponents or even a groupmate; it was a fruitless trek.
The few monsters that appeared in his path didn’t offer much of a challenge. None of them were particularly strong, and he could escape with ease.
In the late afternoon, with the daylight beginning to disappear among the dense canopies of the trees, Davi decided it was time to stop. He found a small grotto hidden among the moss-covered rocks and, judging it would be good shelter as night approached, decided to make the grotto his temporary home.
Coincidentally, not long after, a familiar face appeared to greet him.
It was Lara.
The beautiful woman, although with some small visible wounds on her arms and legs, seemed to be in good condition.
A large smile spread across her face, as if the simple fact of finding Davi was enough to alleviate the weight of all the day’s tension.
She approached quickly and explained that she had used her gift of sensing human presences to try and locate the other members of the group.
The first person she found was Alexia. A short time later, her path led her to Davi.
"I see," the boy commented after hearing the brief account. "And where is Alexia?"
Lara scratched her head, looking a little uncomfortable with the question. "We were together, but she went off to hunt for something we could eat for dinner. She should be back soon."
