Chapter 69: The individual test - David
After being enveloped by an intense light, Davi was teleported to a forest similar to Sylvia’s, though in his case, it wasn’t as dense.
The trees, though imposing, were more spaced out, allowing for a clear view of the surrounding terrain. Sunlight managed to filter through the canopies, casting elongated shadows on the ground covered in dry leaves.
Looking around, he spotted 10, no, 12 giant monsters. They seemed to be communicating through grunts, but the communication was rudimentary, consisting of a limited variety of sounds and gestures.
It wasn’t a complex language like that of humans, but rather a set of signals with restricted meanings. This meant they probably couldn’t coordinate well as a group.
Or at least that’s what Davi managed to figure out in the time he had to observe. After all, it didn’t take long for the monsters to notice the boy’s presence and focus their attention on him.
"Damn it!" the boy complained, realizing he had lost any chance of attacking his enemies by surprise.
The monsters had noticed him. Even if they weren’t intelligent, they were 12 creatures over 4 meters tall. And the situation seemed desperate without the ability to use any of his powers.
If he had his abilities, he could eliminate them easily, but he only had a limited number of shots with his gun. And all he knew about it was a brief description Gilg had given him.
According to him, as long as Davi hit a spot that would be lethal to an ordinary human, such as the head or heart, the weapon would kill any enemy instantly. If he missed the shot, the weapon wouldn’t cause any damage.
Of course, it was an incredibly powerful ability, but he only had 15 shots, meaning any mistake could be fatal.
In any case, he needed to do something, and his first plan was to try to separate the group of orcs. If he could face them alone, it would be easier to take them out.
