Chapter 70: Descendant
From the shadows of the forest, among the twisted trees, emerged a colossal orc, his body covered in scars and grotesquely defined muscles.
Unlike the others, this one carried an oppressive presence. His wild eyes gleamed with fury as he raised his weapon: a huge rusty axe. Then, as soon as he saw Davi, he let out a deafening roar that echoed through the forest, making even the branches tremble.
Without wasting time, the monster charged like an uncontrollable beast, each step shaking the ground, his fierce charge meant to crush Davi in a single brutal blow.
The boy could barely stand, as he felt his energy completely draining away. Still, he forced himself to stand with a cry.
With great effort, he managed to focus for an instant to aim with his gun. Then he pulled the trigger and felt all his strength drain from his body.
Still, the projectile traveled fiercely through the air and, in an instant, it perfectly hit the center of the orc’s skull.
For an instant, the monster took another step, as if his body refused to fall. His eyes widened in shock, the axe slipped from his giant fingers, and then, with a dull thud, he toppled forward, dead before even touching the ground.
"Did I defeat him?" Davi wondered as he felt the tension in his body gradually subside and he could finally breathe a little more calmly.
Thinking about it, the weapon in theory should be able to kill any enemy as long as he hit a vital point, but he didn’t expect it to work.
Maybe it was just instinct telling him things wouldn’t be that easy, this was the final boss, after all. But that weapon was undeniably powerful, even considering the fact that it was slowly draining his energy.
And speaking of that, Davi felt like he was about to faint at any moment. But before everything went dark around him, the weapon disappeared from his hand and he managed to breathe for a second.
