Heaven stayed in the CEO’s office for quite some time, arousing curiosity among those who knew that the CEO himself had summoned her. Axel, however, seemed to enjoy it, as it meant he got to spend his ’recess’ with his sister. Good for him.
When Heaven returned to the art department, she could sense the curiosity in everyone’s gazes. Therefore, just for the sake of it, she pretended to be a little down. Deep in her heart, she was still glad that the reason for this odd look cast upon her was due to a ridiculous rumor and not because of what she had done in the past weeks.
"Are you okay?" Belle, one of Heaven’s seniors, inquired after knocking on her desk.
Heaven looked up at her, only to see the worry swirling in her colleague’s eyes. "Uh... of course."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, thank you for asking." Heaven sported a short smile, sensing that the department suddenly went quiet as if they were trying to eavesdrop on their conversation. Thus, she raised her voice just a little so they wouldn’t have a hard time.
How considerate of her.
"I didn’t know such a rumor was circulating that it even reached the CEO’s office. It’s a little sad no one confirmed it to me." She pressed her lips into a thin line as she smacked them lightly. "But it’s okay now. I explained it to myself."
"What did you say?" Belle asked with raised brows, obviously curious about the occurrence in the CEO’s office.
