Chapter 422: One against a hundred? The advantage is mine!
"Hmm?"
The giant immediately seized the snake by the neck and desperately forced its head away.
HISS~<<<
Just like that, the giant's charge was temporarily halted as it became locked in a fierce struggle with the enormous python transformed from its club.
Wade took the opportunity to turn around. Seeing the students still standing not far away, staring blankly at the scene, anger flared in his chest.
"What are you still looking at? Carry the injured students and move farther back! Get out of here!"
Even as Wade shouted, his wand never stopped moving.
The Elder Wand pointed towards the ground, then snapped sharply upward with a whoosh.
The earth trembled as a long crack split open. A lumbering stone giant then crawled out from the fissure.
At that moment, the giant nearby had just torn off the enormous snake's head and casually tossed the now-helpless python aside.
The python writhed briefly before turning back into the original club.
Only now, the club had been broken into two pieces.
The giant scratched its head and stared blankly at the shattered weapon.
Giants were generally not very intelligent. Only a rare few possessed exceptional wisdom.
This particular giant clearly belonged to the less intelligent majority.
It stared in confusion at the two broken pieces of its club, unable to understand why a perfectly good weapon had suddenly turned into a giant python, or why it had now broken in half.
It was completely beyond the giant's comprehension.
While it stood there dazed, the stone giant had already charged up to it and tapped its shoulder with its left hand.
The giant foolishly looked up.
Seizing the opportunity, the stone giant drew back its right fist and smashed it hard into the giant's temple.
Bang!
No matter how hard a giant's skull was, it was still not harder than stone.
The blow knocked it unconscious on the spot.
"Galloping Gorgons! Wade's Transfiguration is incredible! He took down a giant with one punch!"
Behind Wade, the students who had not yet gone far once again stopped in their tracks and cried out in amazement.
"Don't come any closer! Go back and inform Professor Dumbledore!" Wade shouted, stopping the excited students from approaching for a better look.
The giant might have fallen, but the battle was not over.
Sure enough, the wizards who had been concealed in the distant fog quickly emerged once they saw the giant collapse, glaring viciously at Wade and the others.
The students who had been thinking of moving closer immediately felt their legs weaken again when they saw the masked wizards approaching.
Wade stared coldly at the group, each wearing a different sinister mask, while confusion filled his mind.
Could they be Grindelwald's people?
No. Grindelwald's followers didn't wear masks.
Then who were they?
Death Eaters wore masks, but what year was this?
The future leader of the Death Eaters was still working under him!
How could these people possibly be Death Eaters?
Thoughts raced through Wade's mind, but his hands never stopped moving.
One powerful stone giant after another emerged from underground, each carrying a shield in one hand and a sword or spear in the other. They formed a line between Wade and the masked wizards.
Yet the opposing wizards suddenly seemed in no hurry to attack.
A man wearing a skull mask stepped forward and examined Wade through the gaps between the stone giants.
"Are you Wade Reynolds?"
Wade frowned slightly.
Asking for my name directly?
I see. They're here for me.
As for why they were after him, Wade decided he could always knock them all down first and ask questions later.
They had overwhelming numbers?
No problem.
One against a hundred?
The advantage is mine.
Apparently, the masked wizards had reached the same conclusion.
After only a second of silence, both sides raised their wands at the same time.
Boom!
One of the stone giants lasted less than a second before being obliterated by concentrated fire.
But the instant it shattered, Wade's spell shot through the opening and streaked directly towards the man who had spoken.
Capture the leader first.
That man had been standing in the centre, so he was probably their commander.
However, the opposing wizards were clearly highly experienced in combat.
Before Wade's spell could reach him, the man quickly retreated and disappeared into the crowd, causing the attack to miss.
At the same time, another charging stone giant had its shield shattered before concentrated spellfire destroyed it midway.
Wade remained completely unfazed.
Those giants were only there to serve as shields and put psychological pressure on the enemy.
It didn't matter if they were destroyed.
As long as they bought him enough time to attack, they had fulfilled their purpose.
After all, when fighting one against many, every second of uninterrupted casting time mattered.
Taking advantage of the opening, Wade swept the Elder Wand through the damp, chilly air once more.
Boom!
At some point, dark thunderclouds had gathered overhead.
A torrent of lightning suddenly poured down from the sky, crashing into the enemy formation.
In the blink of an eye, more than a dozen wizards fell.
Bolts as thick as barrels blasted deep craters into the ground.
The terrifying power made the surviving wizards' scalps tingle as they hurriedly cast Shield Charms to withstand the powerful weather magic.
While their attention was divided, Wade's figure suddenly vanished.
When he reappeared, he was already standing in front of the line of stone giants.
Wade raised the Elder Wand and, without hesitation, instantly drained all the ancient magic within his body.
Take this!
Boom!
A blazing bolt of lightning erupted from the tip of the Elder Wand.
The massive arc of electricity swept horizontally across the battlefield.
"Ah!"
The masked wizards' Shield Charms had been extremely strong. Even the barrel-thick lightning summoned by the weather spell had struggled to break through them.
But the moment they came into contact with this blazing lightning, the wizards and their Shield Charms alike were instantly reduced to ashes.
Within only a few seconds, of the more than a hundred wizards who had attacked, barely twenty remained standing.
