The Amazing White-Spider

Monster Wars Part 6

While waiting for Conners to finish making whatever device should help Jake, Jake in the meantime was looking at his brand-new arm as he tried to figure out just what the heck happened to his arm, as it was a constant flowing river of blood that seemed to harm anything it touched.

Along with its corrosive touch, anything Jake thought of holding instantly began forming, no matter what it might have been, from a mug to a pen to a sword to a massive sledgehammer.

So long as he could imagine what he wanted to hold, it would form, and that included tethering the broken straps to the arm, as even if the straps completely broke, the shield was made of some very good stuff, as it was the only thing left intact from the crime scene he got it from.

It took a week. A solid and very long week of constantly trying to keep Conners alive and Jake experimenting with his arm before he finally finished his device that showed whatever the real White-Demon was or is currently lives in Alchemax.

Jake: "It took you a freaking WEEK! Just to find out that they're in the most fortified monster-foisted area of the damn city!?"

Conner: "Well (Tongue makes a snake sound as a thumping goes on behind him), you never know if it's a trap or diversion. Always best to make sure your prey is right where you know it to be rather than a guess."

Jake just rolls his eyes, as while he doesn't really agree with how Conner described searching for the real criminal, he was forced to agree that if they've basically destroyed or taken over all of America and maybe Mexico and Canada, then it's probably better to be certain than to ballpark it.

Jake: "So how the heck are we going to even get there? I mean, sure, we could, or rather I could, kill as many of those monsters as possible. I mean, after a solid week of eating them, I've become strong enough to actually run for once instead of having to just walk everywhere."

Conner: "Yes. Good for you, my dear boy. Now as for the monsters you shall have to face, I can only offer up two choices for whichever you think is more solid of a plan."

Jake: "Alright. Hit me."

Conner: "Option one is trying to invade the X-Men compound to see if any of them are still there or have retreated to some other country to recuperate after they and all the other heroes were destroyed in the great battle."

Jake: "Okay. Kind of don't want to since if I go there and find no one, I'll be on an island that's probably harder to leave than enter."

Conner: "The other is to find the man of mystic who told the White-Demon and her Beast General and Blood Tyrant that they're fated to lose like all others before them. Now I'm certain he's been killed, as a bright flash of light only appeared once back when they were allies, but if anyone can help, it's probably him."

Jake was confused, as he didn't have a single clue on how to find a supposed magic man that may or may not even be dead, according to what Conner had told him.

But if these were his only options for entering the Alchemax building to finally end things, then with his chest puffed up as best it could, Jake let out a massive groan and sigh, and he wondered if it'd be better to just die with options like these.

However, he made a promise to do what he could to help whatever humans remain and set off straight to the X-Men island, which was just filled with spotlights, mines, and mutants with possibly ranged abilities constantly watching the waters and, worst of all, no damn bridge!

Looking far and wide, all Jake can see is nothing more than death slithering towards his feet should he ever get closer to the island...

Jake: "But what if I don't get close to the island?"

Racing as fast and as far as his new legs with some muscle can take him, Jake rushed towards a tall building and burst through every door that was stopping him from climbing the towers to the highest rooftop.

His first few attempts at this weren't that good, as the angles were either wrong, not enough space to do what he wanted, or even being far too close to monster hives that made it impossible to even try to set up his plan before they attack.

But. But. But. But! His final selection, while not as high or with an angle as he would have liked or even having the space to do what he wanted, didn't matter that much, as Jake realized instead of one massive launch, he could do short burst launches and then one massive launch/jump as the end!

There's no real way of knowing if his plan was going to go horribly wrong or horribly right, as once he did it, there was no real way of stopping, especially when he made it to the island, as from there, he'd have to figure out a way on how he was going to get home.

Jake: "(Grunts) But that's a problem for the future. (grunts as he slowly backs up and steps onto the cooling vents of the building) ME!"

The reason for the grunting was because Jake planned on propelling himself off five sets of buildings and then slingshot himself off a sixth one so that hopefully, with all the momentum he builds up, he should make it to the island.

If not, hopefully at least close enough that the sentry mutants didn't spot him and start firing at him with all their powers, and might, as he really wasn't looking for a fight, especially when the only weapons he'd have would be from his arm since he's there for peace, not war.

Feeling like he's hit the limit of how far his arm was able to stretch while also doing what he wanted, as he felt if he stretched it even more, then his arm would either rip or fail to do the job he wanted, as the elasticity wouldn't work.

Reaching the limit after a bit of guesswork, calculations, as Jake has a flash of memory of someone giggling while calling him an idiot as a spider dangles upside down from his red hand.

While he'd love to try and guess what was happening, it was currently a too-little-too-late type of situation, and the second he lets go, Jake starts flying, and without wanting to ram himself into a building, Jake is forced to keep up the momentum by constantly launching himself from building to building.

As his momentum keeps building, Jake sees the perfect place to do his final launch, and grabbing the massive express lane pole, Jake swings around and around as he launches himself right at the massive billboard and slingshots himself as far as he can past the broken bridge and most of the brigade.

This doesn't mean he sticks the landing, however; in fact, he buries or rather skids himself through the sand and only stops once his face hits the metal pole of the remains of a volleyball net.

Compared to everything else on the mainland, the net doesn't appear to be destroyed by weather and time or even destroyed. It honestly looks like someone just needed the net for something more important and forgot the poles were still set up.

Forcing himself out of the sand, Jake spits up and vomits a bit as he tries to get rid of all the sand; he was forced to consume along with shake out whatever got in his nose and ears, as the last thing he needs is the raddling of sand in his skull messing him up.

After doing this for about ten minutes, Jake finally felt most, if not (hopefully), all, the sand that he was forced to become one with finally left his body and was back on this little beach instead of his body.

Slowly Jake stands up and starts walking through the grasslands. Since there aren't enough trees to possibly be called a forest, Jake gets a good look at how the mutants live on the island, as anyone with abilities lives like kings compared to normal humans who work like dogs.

Sometimes literally, as he saw a couple of people fighting in a ring, not even for show, but because whoever won seemed to be the personal helper to someone possibly high up on the mutant ladder.

Jake: "Okay. Now that I'm here, who the heck do I have to talk to for help, and even if I did, would they even help?"

Looking at all the mutants' faces, Jake could see that they all enjoyed this life and would probably not want anything to risk their brand-new lives of basically being kings of the world as well as being able to use the people that used to treat them like trash or even oppress them for being a bit different.

Jake, even without any memories of how they were actually treated before, well, today, by just seeing how everyone acts, he already knew that being a mutant wasn't what most of the people hated (sure, there are some outliers). They hated them because of their own actions.

Seriously, who the heck has people fight just to be their pet for either the day or until they get bored of them? Even worse is why are all the humans forced to live in tiny little camps where, if Jake's vision is correct, apparently six sleeping bags are all squeezed together in a very cramp poorly made tent.

As Jake walked along the place, he was suddenly attacked by a stray blast of pure ice that was then followed by a massive explosion of pure fire.

???: "I thought I told you all to LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Jake: "DUDE! I'm sorry for walking through! But I have no idea why you're angry!"

???: "No way!"

The sound of something falling onto the ground and breaking it—everything was quickly followed by the sounds of demented and demonic running as a creature's bones were snapping and popping as something charged at him.

Others might run away, but at this point Jake was just once again used to the absurdity of the world and figured something was either charging at him to kill him, the strange voice was going to get reinforcements, or maybe it was an old friend that knew the old him.

Either way, he couldn't exactly leave, as it just increased the risk of possibly meeting someone that might not be friendly towards him and either try and kill him or force him to the figurative mines like all the other non-mutant kind.

When the figure finally shows itself... to say it's horrifying would be a massive understatement, as the figure was mostly bones with what little flesh he had either burned to a blacken crips or blue from frost if the ice was any indication of the extreme temperatures he lives in.

???: "I understand if you don't recognize me, but it's still good to finally see someone who isn't a communist."

Jake: "What?"

???: "Yeah, after the world went straight to hell thanks to the White-Demon that was pretending to be you, for some reason the mutants were one of the few people that could actually fight back since we don't need ammunition to fight. But because of that, most of the X-Men started to become corrupt and abuse the power of hope and recognition most of the X-Men were finally getting and set up this little horror show, you see."

Jake: "And I'm guessing you—"

???: "Any mutant that tries to get me to join them or even dares to come close to the old boy's dorm, I threaten to obliterate them or turn them into statues that form a warning symbol to those that get too close to my home."

Without asking or even waiting for Jake to say anything about coming to his home, the strange man just drags him to the boy's dorm, and that's when Jake sees the horror show that's been years in the making.

???: "It's not much. But I do everything I can in order to save the last ruminants of life before those commies over there took over the creed."

Jake: "Well, if you hate this life so much, then maybe you're willing to leave?"

???: "Ha. Sorry. But no, I'm going to stay here and help any humans that I possibly can."

Jake: "But you fired at me when I showed up, and I'm not wearing mutant gear."

???: "No, but usually mutants are following humans that've escaped and was just trying to shake them off if there were any."

Jake: "Well, I need your help off this island."

???: "(Arm flares up as he speaks with rage) I. TOLD. YOU. I can't leave the island."

Jake: "Even if it means taking down the White-Demon and all monster kind?"

???: "(Turns around with eyes regrowing in all their disgusting galore as they shine with hope) You know where they are?"

Jake: "Yeah. And if you're willing to help me either create a diversion to distract all the monsters from the entrance, then I'll try to sneak in and take them out. Either that or find a secret door to let you in."

For the entire night Jake and the mysterious man only going by X talked all about what hell went on with the X-Men along with what life's been like for X, but more importantly, they talk about their plan on how they're going to beat the White-Demon and hopefully put an end to all this commie nonsense once and for all!

And that is all for now hope you all enjoyed and until next time stay safe and peace!
