The Amazing White-Spider

KABOOM!

Sounds of gunfire, or rather the blasts from X's fire and ice attacks that cause all kinds of panic from the monsters to charge at him, which gives Jake just enough time with the few remaining monsters to kill and consume them as Jake makes his way into the building.

Thankfully with X's powers, it wasn't hard to leave the island, as he could just make a trail or explosive jump their way back to the mainland, as a bunch of monsters were attracted by the sounds and came to hunt and investigate.

With all the chaos coming from that, it wasn't that hard for X to attract every monster around the building, and the few that remained were easy pickings for Jake thanks to his red arm, and now that Jake has his shield and gun back, things just got easier.

Although it was very hectic to grab on the go, he wasn't going to forget them, as it was the only way for him to fight against them without having to rely solely on his arm, as it could get tired or whatever, let it shift, could be overworked and make his arm go back to normal.

Inside the building it was just full of corpses as far as the eye could see, and they weren't even shy. If Jake wasn't certain this place didn't look like a horror show before then, he'd be forgiven for being thinking wrong, as that's just how many bodies, blood, and grime were all over that it actually began meshing with the decor.

Jake: "I swear who the heck wants to sit down in a waiting area made of human bones with a flesh rug and some toys made of bones?"

But seeing as how the things were no longer human and possibly got corrupted by whatever force turned them into horrific abominations to anything related to mankind, and accidentally walking in a room where a live show on how they're made wasn't changing that thought.

Jake sees some poor red-headed guy wearing purple and some green trying his best to break free as a massive creature slowly walks towards him and then plunges its hand inside the man's chest.

His arm opens up, revealing a horrific slug/seed thing that the monster grabs and then shoves into the strange man's throat.

Jake: "Did he just shove his hand into the man's chest for no real reason other than because it felt like it?"

The answer is probably yes/most likely, as it doesn't move a single spot and just lets its arm break apart as whatever the man used to be was screaming in pain as his body turned sickly green, scales started bursting from his body that seemed to be the same size as a porcupine spike.

His, or rather its, arms start expanding more than a balloon that breaks the floor as his arms become the same size as his normal human body. The rest of his body quickly followed as his legs became the same as his arms, but his body stayed for the most part the same as it formed a literal hourglass symbol as his head forcibly turned to the side, giving him a sideways head.

Its chest opened up, revealing a massive yellow eye with a red iris as spikes formed around the entire body as its nails grew into claws and a massive dog or lizard tongue rolled out of its sideways head mouth that resembled a tie and covered its chest eye.

With most of the monster formed, if not completely formed, Jake let the monster and what used to be a man die without hesitation as he threw his shield straight through the glass, causing it to bounce around and make a meat monster salad.

Unlike the other monsters that I've faced before, there's just something about this green gremlin monster thing that I just can't bring myself to eat, unlike all the other monsters that I've eaten before, even if I have vague recollection of consuming a couple of them.

Every time I gaze upon anything that used to be the man behind the monster, a single tear seems to drop from my eye as the sounds of child laughter echo through my mind along with, for some reason, the sound of alarms, anger, and panic.

Jake has no idea what any of that means other than he probably used to know who the man used to be; given that's the only thing that caused his mind to go mental as it tried to remember people, places, or things that remained in the body since he doesn't really have his brain.

Quickly dashing through everything to the back door, Jake just barely manages to get there in time as X jumps through the door and blasts it shut since Jake barely managed to even close the damn door from just how many tried to keep it open.

X: "Why (pants) does the door only open inwards?"

Jake: "(Panic cries)"

The duo stay panting and screaming for a solid few minutes before they're able to start moving towards the higher or lower floors, as the machine didn't seem to show if they were going up or down, but seeing how the only way down was an abyssal pit that not even X's fire or ice could reach the bottom, they decided to go up.

As they walk up the stairs, the duo gets very annoyed over how chaotic the planning of this floor plan is, as the stairs only go up one, maybe two floors before you have to walk across the entire floor to reach the other set of stairs to continue.

Maybe that's why they have an elevator. As with the way the stairs work, the only reason it could be like this is it gives the workers more time to destroy anything the police might be looking for or get after them for making, seeing, or messing up.

They came to this conclusion over the third floor being filled with random papers that were either shredded on the midst of being shredded before the power went out or the paper shredder was destroyed.

X: "To all personnel with the countdown commencing, you all know the procedure. After reading this company-wide handout, you will have fifteen minutes to say your prayers and peace??? Afterwards you will be liquidated along with the rest of the company so as to not give out the secrets on how our company works?"

Jake: "Okay, what the heck?"

X: "I know I lived through the start of the monster wars and everything, but just what the heck? This paper makes me think it's more of a front for a criminal gang or maybe illegal research if they're flat out stating they "liquidate" their employees.

For some reason the duo was able to have a pleasant walk through the Alchemax building, as besides the ground floor or lobby there wasn't a monster as far as the eye could see, and that could only be because they were just waiting for them at the top.

Or at least that's what they thought, but they quickly come across the devil ladies that were eating a massive monster they hunted for more fun than anything but seemed to realize how hungry they were given how slowly they were eating the poor thing.

The girls charged at X and Jake, who both got ready to battle, but before they could, all the colors from their monster symbiote fused bodies forcibly rip themselves out of them and stab Jake straight through the heart, pinning him inside the broken elevator.

X is confused over what happened, and things only got worse for his sanity as Jake transformed into a freaking dragon of all things or created a dragon from his body and charged/broke through the building all the way to the top, where the real White-Demon rests on their throne.

No words were spoken between either monster as they started punching, kicking, scratching, biting, and just about whatever attacks they could, as none of the symbiote abilities they had were working.

Most likely because the White-Demon was wearing the flesh, bones, organs, and basically everything but the heart of Jake and a few other things that it deemed useless or pointless when turning his remains into a massive onesie costume.

It's very obvious who's winning the fight, as the White-Demon, even in their monstrous form and many years compared to the fresh semi-clone of the original Jake, had nothing on Jake, as they never once fought with their bare hands in a true honest brawl and instead used their powers and size to win.

This new Jake, meanwhile, has been forced to live a solid three and a half months constantly fighting in a backyard-style brawl to even try to get a foot of leverage over his massive enemies, unlike White-Demon, who trapped them like a spider eyeing its prey slowly approaching its web.

Jake fought with the power and determination of a tiger. Aka, he lost his mind and punched anything that was possibly in his way and trying to hurt him, as he has no memory of anything he was taught in the past when it comes to fighting.

The White-Demon loses its mind over losing once more to the same man in a similar way as it did all those years ago.

But unlike then, Jake ripped the creature apart and consumed it whole and then spat out the demon part and took the white as it regained everything that made Jake... well, Jake in all things, including having Ekaj back, who just laughed over the whole situation.

Jake: "What's so funny?"

Ekaj: "You were a cocoon in literal crap for fifty years after getting skinned alive and working for the man who did it. HOW CAN I NOT LAUGH AT THE ABSURDITY!"

Jake just rolls his eyes and grabs his shield and absorbs it into himself, making it impossible for Strange to be able to get it from him without ripping it straight from his body atom by atom, as that's the only way it was ever going to leave him now.

What was formerly the White-Demon just screams in a tantrum-filled rage as Jake, having had enough of this woman, changes his arm into a massive cannon and rapidly and rapidly fires at her remains till there's absolutely nothing left of her besides the memory of what she's caused.

Now that she's gone, all her symbiote monsters die off as they shrivel up and dissolve into liquid goo, as the survivors will eventually fight what remains of the mutant uprising for whoever owns and runs the world, as Jake and X just watch the city immediately erupt in chaotic fire.

X: "I don't know if I should be surprised by how quickly the war happened or be surprised over my own stupidity for even daring to think there could be a moments piece with humans and the mutant fascists."

Jake: "Do you know what you're going to do now?"

X: "Probably head to where everyone might be, or maybe I'll just walk the lands, as there's nothing really keeping me here anymore, as everyone I knew and loved either died or left with the mutant children. What about you?"

Jake: "I don't know. Everyone I knew is quite literally dead, most likely, so there's truly no reason for me to be anywhere in New York, as I'm tired of fighting."

Strange: "I get that. But you're needed back in your time."

Ekaj (in control of Jake's body): "WHAT?"

Strange: "I needed your help, as you were the only person that could defeat the White-Demon without costing me something in return for taking out the threat that she possessed."

Jake: "I best get something in return!"

Strange: "Depends on what you might want. But I can promise if it doesn't affect the entire world, then I have no problem granting whatever you wish."

Strange snaps his fingers as a portal appears, and X walks closer, only for Strange to stop him from going.

Strange: "Sorry, but I only messed with fate when it comes to Jake over there to get what I want. But as you were a help to him, I promise I can offer you a small wish of your own in return. You must not speak of this to anyone."

X: "Can you take me to paradise?"

Strange: "I know what you deem paradise, and yes, I can do that, no problem. (Snaps his fingers.)"

Jake: "WHOA! WHERE THE HECK DID HE GO!?"

Ekaj: "Did he just kill the man?"

Strange: "Everyone he considers family actually made their own island they found while trying to reach Magneto's, so I just sent him there, as it's going to be the only place that's going to escape the oncoming war that this world is destined for."

Jake: "Does that mean—"

Strange: "No. Your planet has yet to receive a conclusion like this, as it's constantly changing and flowing from one path to the next. It's why it's called the present, but with certain branches of time like this, then things like this are bound to happen."

Jake takes a deep breath as Ekaj starts counting down the same way all space-faring trips go, and when he finally reaches one, Jake jumps through the portal, hopefully back to how everything used to be.
