The Amazing White-Spider

Monster Wars Part 2

Everyone looks on with anger at Jake as they grasp their weapons as tight as they possibly can to the point that some of them would have begun bleeding if the areas weren't already worn out with blisters and callouses.

With the air of a standard Wild West shootout, everyone just stands around waiting for something to happen, only for some random man to appear and drag Jake with him and the others as they dive for the sewers.

Through the sewers Jake quickly found out that not even this place was safe given the amount of... well, the only way to describe them is as things that seemed to have once been humans in the past but have since been corrupted by some kind of power.

Littering the ground were the remains of monster body parts along with many more stray limbs that appeared human, meaning that whatever caused all this either mutated everything but those limbs or maybe they were the only things left after the battles.

Suddenly everyone stops as they stand in front of a massive wall that looks a bit different than all the others, and the only reason is because it's the only place without bodies and gunk just all over the place and blocking the path as everyone either walks over or kicks them away.

The leader of the group presses a brick and then slides it further inside the wall as a loud click can be heard as the wall parts open, revealing a secret yet equally terrible home, and from the constant tentacle skulls and A.I.M. tags all over the place, it was obvious why it was crap.

Jake: "Honestly, if I had the choice, I'd rather not live in a place that used to be owned by terrorists and Nazis."

Gruff man: "Hmph. Not like we got much of a choice of pickins teas ays."

Jake looked at the big buff man next to him and just wondered where the heck he came from, as he could barely understand that last bit, but given the bottles of scotch hanging off his belt like a wind chime, he thought it'd be best to just shut up.

A loud crunch sound echoed across the entire underground city as someone from behind or maybe a tiny person in front hit Jake's knees as hard as they possibly could, forcing him to fall to the ground as everyone began beating, kicking, stabbing, and basically doing everything short of throwing acid or shooting him.

Their leader, however, quickly stopped everyone as his hand grew double, maybe even triple, the size it normally was as he punches the man who started the stabbing, only for him to come back with a massive ice spear, only for it to be frozen in place by the leader.

Jake was greatly confused by everything that just happened as the leader drags him inside a bunker that looks to be the remains of a beaten-down Hulkbuster armor that seems to have been ripped clean in half after getting stabbed repeatedly.

Without any form of grace or gentleness, the leader threw Jake right on a massive table, stabbing Jake's back all over, and before Jake could even open his mouth, the leader started repeatedly punching Jake in the face and chest over and over again.

He made sure to keep one of his hands firmly over Jake's mouth so as to limit the noise as well as staring deep into Jake's eyes filled with pure hatred that seemed like he only stopped the others not out of kindness but because he didn't want them to take his prey.

Leader: "(Sighs) I... I can't do this. DAMN IT!"

The man threw Jake straight on the ground and then quickly scurried over to him and helped him up while also making sure to pull out everything he had forced inside Jake's back and threw it right back onto his desk.

With a massive sigh the man started asking Jake many questions; most of them he couldn't answer since he wasn't really alive for any of them as he was growing back his body, and anything before the world ended, he couldn't really answer either, as he didn't remember much.

Jake: "While my body was growing, I can't exactly say I wasn't conscious for all of it, and when you go that long while not being able to do anything as your body refuses to move a single centimeter, you can go a littttllllleeee MAD!"

The leader wonders if Jake was being honest or not, but it was hard to tell since he was the White Demon, as his face has become publicly known as the evil of this very world since he made all the monsters along with corrupting the world to be more kind to monsters than man.

Leader: "Most of the world's heroes have either been corrupted and turned into monsters or they've just been killed, with very few heroes still living."

Jake: "Who are they?"

Leader: "Moon Knight, Wolverine, Deadpool, Rouge, and Kitty Pryde."

Jake: "That's it? Also, who are those people?"

Leader: "(Eyes go wide with shock.) You... you don't know our saviors?"

Jake: "I wasn't exactly around when they could have made a name for themselves, so I don't know anything about them."

Leader: "Do... do you remember the Fantastic Four? X-Men? Avengers? Or even Spider-Woman!?"

Jake just shook his head, as he had no idea what the man was talking about, as the last thing he remembers was fighting against a massive British lizard as a red and white demon watched while the red mentioned wanting to eat a cat of some kind.

The man just looks on with pure horror, as while they were all planning on torturing or even killing the poor boy for something they all thought he had caused, he doesn't even know what it might have been, as the only thing he does know is his name.

Nothing more, nothing less.

He's a complete blank page that can't remember a single shred of his life before today.

Now there are many reasons as to what could have caused this; heck, Wolverine and Deadpool both have some kind of mental problem since no man is supposed to be able to recall all the things that they've done in their lives without the mind trying to reset itself in some way.

So, he could keep living. Jake's brain decided that it would be best to delete everything save for the immediate revenge targets, as it didn't want to send him off without something leading him to his past or even what kind of person he used to be.

The leader felt extremely bad for the poor guy as he figured that he must have been mixing things up in his head since everything he just said made absolutely no damn sense no matter how hard he tried to think about it, and he's been on some fantastic adventures with his family.

But thanks to this war with the monsters, all of them are gone, either from this world or they've joined Doom in Latveria, as that's the only place deemed safe to live besides Genosha, but they only accept mutants, while Latveria takes in anyone willing to swear allegiance to Doom.

Give it time, however, and the White Demon will eventually conquer them just like he has done to all of the western world, and he is most definitely planning on how they can take the rest of the world for their monster army.

However... If they manage to get this man who they thought was the White Demon and help him remember who or what he truly was, then they might finally have a chance at victory!

The leader lets out a massive sigh as he thinks about their odds of winning, and there are barely a single-digit number of chances; they could achieve victory with Jake's help, and that's if they manage to get his memory back and IF they get their weapons online in time.

Chances are they'll never get their weapons online or even get the chance to dream of a world free of the monsters; unless Jake, the man with the face of the demon, or rather the false demon, can somehow absorb the monsters, they're never going to end.

Along with that problem comes the very next one, where the demon generals like to go out and hunt down people to turn into more monsters, and they're impossible to defeat as they seem to have power beyond what should be possible.

Even stranger has to be how they all seem to have the same set of powers that seem to be an amalgamation of all the powers of the heroes that have been killed or turned into monsters, which makes no damn sense no matter how hard any of them think about it.

While the leader was talking aloud with Jake, something banged on the metal door, and upon opening it, the angry mob was outside once more, but all it took was a single word from the leader to the mob that made them go from hostile to peaceful.

The leader: "Innocent!"

Everyone let out a sigh of relief when the man they were seconds from killing, burning, and then using as a form of deodorant for the monsters and then began to cheer as they welcomed him like Vikings, according to what Thor has said about them.

The group parties and cheers with the mushroom moonshine they've made along with cooking up some delectable mushroom dishes, as they're the only thing that can grow in mass in the sewers, as anything else they tried either mutated into a monster or died outright.

Most of the people (Jake included) weren't real big fans of their mostly mushroom with random mixed snack diets and missed being able to eat things that weren't a topping on a pizza or things made for movie watching and whenever you want a little something more.

During the feast, everyone talks about the people they lost, the things they miss most about the world before it all got destroyed, and more importantly, what they would have loved to do had they known the world was going to end.

The biggest thing for the leader, apparently named Jack, would have told the girl he was in love with his feelings, as no matter what her answer might have been, it would have been far better if they had talked before everything ended.

Meanwhile Rick, or whatever the other guy with powers said his name was, just wanted to have the chance to meet his old man, finally. Not his real old man but the guy who was apparently the reason he was a mutant type of old man.

Also, he wanted to confess to a girl of his own, and that girl was mighty something if he couldn't even say her name.

Jake: "What if it's a guy?"

Everyone just looked at Jake like he just said something either obvious or impossible, and honestly, he has no idea which side was scarier.

Rick just scoffed and ran away to his little home in the water as he makes a frozen tunnel and then melts away the gunk as he enters his room.

Pretty smart thinking since no one wants to touch the waters that run through this city without having a heavy-duty filter attached to whatever device they need to get water from, as it's practically poison and has only undoubtedly gotten worse.

Jack pulled Jake aside, and the two began talking as Jack tried to help Jake remember anything that he could by asking him to focus on anything around him that could help trigger more of his memories, but they were for the most part just gone.

Jake didn't remember, or rather couldn't remember, anything more than what he already stated, as there was nothing else for him to remember, as his brain was also taken, and he's only alive because his heart was thrown into the sewers while his brain was kept in a jar or something.

So, unless he gets his real organs back and not the replicated symbiote organs that he currently has inside his body that act like real organs, it's only a matter of time till something hits the right frequency or temperature to kill him.

It's a struggle to just survive, and the worst thing about it all has to be the fact that Jake has no idea he's just living on borrowed time, as unless he eats more meat, his body can't truly regenerate, and he either needs to consume at least two warehouses full of meat or find his body and organs and reclaim them.

While everyone slept, something slowly began to crawl across the floor as it made its way through the city, trying to find some prey that matches the owner's taste.
