Questions X3!
It's been a couple of hours since Jake's friends began questioning him over his sudden disappearance for an entire day.
Throughout half of it Jake was contemplating whether he should just leave and lock himself in his room to get away from it all or not, but then he realized they did all this annoying crap because of how much they cared about him, and it made him very happy.
Still very annoyed, mind you, as Jake swears half the questions had nothing to do with his sudden disappearance but more about things he's done to any and all of them in the past, like, how does he need to know if he's the reason behind an old plushie's disappearance or not?
When it was all finally over, Jake was more ecstatic about that than he's ever felt for summer vacation... although that probably has more to do with almost every school he's ever been to having gotten destroyed because of the usual routine of crap that comes from living in New York.
Jake: "Spud, didn't you have anything to ask me?"
Spud: "(Shrugs) Dude, I'm fine with having as much knowledge as the universe wants me to know and nothing else."
Jake: "Dude, we both know that's a lie. I've seen you lose your mind over needing to know the ending of a game you can't win or from books you're heavily invested in."
Spud blushes but just coughs and clears his throat and walks away back towards Trixie and Rose, who all seem to be having a good enough chat with Penny and Gwen as Harry and Spud seem to come to some form of agreement.
Ekaj: "What the heck is our life? The two friends' groups you wanted to keep separate because you never thought they would get along are now getting along because you've been a very naughty boy."
Jake just rolls his eyes, as he's far too tired and exhausted over everything to deal with his other half's crap, especially when you add the fact that he's yet to go home and is probably going to have to do all this crap with his family as well.
Of course, that's exactly what happened since what decent parent wouldn't question their child if they vanished for an entire day and didn't tell them anything?
For some reason it was far more embarrassing having his parents question what he's been doing all night since, on one hand, he wants to be honest with them, but on the other, just how the heck does he explain what really happened?
Making things even harder was the fact that in the corner of his eye he saw his Haley watching everything from the corner of his eye and the tiniest crack in the bathroom door.
Jake thinks: "How on earth do I go about this without angering my Asian parent, confusing or possibly scaring my sister, and keeping everything as true as can be without really saying what happened to me...?"
Ekaj: "Just lie to them. They have no idea what you've actually been up to or anything, so just say some partial truths that are kind of true, like how you were helping a guy called Andre explore the city. Every single nook and cranny it has to offer, and by the time you both got to the desired location, both of you had partied for a bit before finding out it was all but a dream, as what he wanted wasn't there."
Normally Jake hates doing whatever Ekaj wants since they're almost always bad ideas that'd cause more harm than any good his advice might seem. But with no better ideas, Jake does just that and lies straight through his teeth about almost everything he could while also being as truthful as possible just in case he had some form of tell.
His parents accepted everything he told them; whether it was a place of trust or because it sounded convincing enough, they didn't want to push anything else and just accepted his excuse.
The reason behind the parents accepting this is because Nick Fury already told them that he was busy dealing with a job and that was the reason he hadn't contacted them just yet, and they accepted this was the closest they could possibly get to hearing about his missions, as Nick Fury promised to tell them everything Jake did since he was still a minor.
However, just because his parents were willing to accept his excuse, that didn't mean his sister was willing, as she just knew for a fact that her brother was lying even if she didn't have a single bit of proof as to why he might have been lying.
But knowing this, even if it was just all in her head, angered her as she turned her head and stormed off into her room without welcoming her brother or doing anything she would normally do with her brother for two weeks since she felt that was a good enough punishment for both vanishing and lying to their family.
This wasn't the end for Jake's torment, however, as it had only just begun with his morning being a forced extraction by Agent Coulson and some fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. secret agents who dragged him towards a secret area for questioning and prodding.
After collecting every sample that might have still been on or in his body after last night's events, Agent Coulson demanded Jake answer every question the lab had on what the drug did to him that he could remember, along with how he and Ava became infected.
Jake considered this the worst of them, as his friends were whatever, and his family sucked when lying, but it was impossible to lie to Agent Coulson since every time Jake started to even think of lying, Coulson would give him a look that made Jake sweat nervously and profusely.
But eventually Jake managed to get through everything and felt just about the same after his special training with all the robots he had to destroy and was looking forward to finally relaxing, but this is New York, and nothing ever goes any hero's way, as there's a sudden terrorist attack.
Black and white man: "Bring me OSBORN! OR! I will turn this place into a paradise for those divided, such as I!"
Jake & Penny: "Oh, you have got to be kidding me!"
