Forgotten Eclipse
The birds chirp in the air, and the sirens blare in the streets as gunfire can be heard every minute or so. Jake groggily opens his eyes and sees a semi-familiar ceiling that brings him great confusion until he remembers he was on a mission with Ava.
Jake sits up and yawns for a bit, scratching his head as he wonders what time it is, as he can't recall for the life of him, and if that wasn't bad enough, his hand just so happened to flop onto something both hard and soft.
Jake: "What? I know this is a safehouse, but it should still be somewhat decent!"
Turning his head, he sees the one thing in life he would never expect to see, that being Ava wearing possibly nothing more than the bedsheets, looking all kinds of pissed off at Jake as the two just silently stared at one another.
The two still looking at each other sit up on the bed and look around the room, seeing and sadly realizing that both of them were currently wearing the same amount of clothes if everything they were wearing last night discarded and thrown all over the place was any indication of last night's transgression.
Jake: "I... uh—"
Ava: "(Clenches the bed sheet to herself trying to salvage any sense of self-respect she still has.) SHUT IT! Not a single damn word about this EVER AGAIN! GOT IT!"
Jake nods his head in agreement as well as gulps, as even if he tries not to, he's still very much a man. His vision tends to wander when looking towards her direction and only manages to stop thanks to Ava snapping her fingers at him.
Ava: "Look, whatever happened, we had to have been drugged."
Jake: "Yeah, right, totally... yeah, totally. It's not like—"
Ava: "We would never do something like this on our own accord."
The two sat in silence for an unbearably long time and only began moving once again when Ekaj let out a massive cough, trying to help his other half speed things along, as this was way too much back-and-forth awkwardness to last all three of them a lifetime.
As Jake was a man, he quickly stumbled out of the bed and picked up all his clothes, or what he assumed was his clothes, in his mad dash panic anyhow, and only realized things weren't as they seemed when he was trying to fit a pair of leg stockings over his hands, thinking they were gloves.
Ekaj: "Hey idiot. (Mimes smacking Jake over the head) Ever since you've gotten enough control over your forms, you've only worn a basic white t-shirt, underwear, and a pair of red shorts with a gold dragon print."
Jake: "So..."
Ekaj: "So seeing as how you're already wearing all of that, those things on your hands and whatever's left from that little pile over there can't be yours."
Jake once more lets out a massive gulp as he slowly takes off the pair of stockings he accidentally turned into a pair of crappy yet kind of seductive gloves and throws them onto the small pile of extra garments he grabbed.
Storming out of the bathroom, Ava called out her glowing jade tiger claws as she was completely ready and willing to throw down her mystic hands at a moment's notice, but just as quick as she was to pull them out, she called dismissed them once she realized Jake was covering his eyes with a massive towel.
Jake: "AVA! I CAN'T SEE NOR POSSIBLY HEAR OR ANY OTHER SENSE YOU MAY FEAR I HAVE TO WATCH YOU WITH! I JUST WANTED TO TURN IN SOME EXTRA THINGS I HAD FOUND!"
Without waiting for a reply, Jake bent down and gently placed everything in his hands on the ground before speeding away back into the bathroom.
Now, while Ava didn't see anything interesting in Jake as a partner, she was a bit hurt by how he kept running away from her, even if he was a hundred percent right, as no matter how much she tried to maintain her Zen, she just couldn't whenever she was forced to remember this... event.
Ava: "(Pulls her shirt down) This is going to be an annoying report."
With both done changing, Ava bangs the bathroom door down as hard and as consistently as she possibly could, further scaring Jake, which Ekaj just was not helping in the slightest, as he possibly saw everything and was making sure to tell Jake all the hidden things on her body.
Ava: "Come on, we've been here long enough; Nick Fury is awaiting our report!"
One final gulp is all Jake could afford before he entered the belly of the beast and faced one of the greatest challenges of his life! Acting like everything was alright with a female work friend while neither knew what really happened but could greatly assume what might have, as his other half was making it almost impossible to stay sane and normal.
Ava: "(Sees Jake open the door) Took you long enough (fluffs her hair as some of it was still inside her shirt). Now hold my dress and purse so I can place it in the standard bag of operations, and try your best not to look so guilty. (Sighs) Whatever happened, the people working here probably already have a guess or idea, and we just have to go with it, pretending to be partners for ten minutes. Then we can pretend we don't know each other all the way to one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. extraction zones and fill Nick in on what happened six hours ago. AM I CLEAR?"
Jake: "Crystal, madam."
Ekaj: "Oh, god! Just take this chick for real already! I can tell the second you realized what happened you wanted to add her to the little group forming in your head, so just DO IT ALREADY! It's not like anyone's going to notice or care, especially with some of my special remedies."
Jake thinks: "NO! And even if I did think of it, we were not compatible enough for something like that, and it's just a thought. Also, gross, I would never try to mess with someone's head or force my way onto someone."
Ekaj: "(Rolls his eyes) Just saying, it's already happened even if neither of you remember it, so why not just make it official? You could even call it a pity fu—"
The duo walks downstairs and into the lobby of this very dingy and very convoluted back door owned by S.H.I.E.L.D. safe havens with three guests that possibly aren't S.H.I.E.L.D. and staff that isn't except for the manager; all look at the two with eyes that practically seemed to scream, "Ah, young love."
Ava, keeping her word, turned into an entirely different girl as she played up the part of a happy prep girl sneaking out for a bit of fun with her man, which backfired as the only female guest and two maids ganged up on her and asked her a ton of questions.
The guys seemed to do the same thing, with even the official S.H.I.E.L.D. having a word or two with Jake, as everyone of them besides the two elderly guests wants to very much know how on earth these two kept at it for twenty-four sodding hours straight!?
Hearing just how long they've taken to contact Nick Fury about their assignment filled Ava with immense dread, along with great embarrassment at the thought of being with Jake for that long and having no memory of it, as well as thanking the ancestors that the amulet sped up her healing.
Jake, however, was practically melting as well as turning an even brighter shade of red than his jacket, as twenty-four hours of anything is a freaking long amount of time and a huge commitment, but to do something like that and have zero recollection of it made both of them wonder just what the heck they got spiked with.
It took Ava two freaking hours and thirty damn minutes to finally manage to get away from the girls constantly trying to ask her all sorts of questions that quickly went from being semi-innocent to full of censored whispers from just how graphic they were getting at the end.
Surprisingly, the guys didn't care that much about anything other than wanting to know how he managed to go at it for that long, as nothing any of them have used or tried lasted anywhere near that length of time, and they wanted to know what they could do to improve.
But since neither of them knew, they tried to shoot down everything as Jake chalked it up to being born that way and experience, which only one could be somewhat true for him, as before today, he was still pure and still kind of is if he has no recollection of the event.
Ava was very much used to things like this, as she had many partners since she was supposed to be a bride for the next Black Panther but didn't want to be one of his many wives, so she began living her life in dishonor to get her off the list.
Ava: "(Waves goodbye to the girls) Thank you, no really, thank you for the talk. It was... something, to say the least."
Jake did a call-me sign for the guys as he took thirty minutes with the guys before they started talking about creating an online gamer group for some game, as they were still on the fence if they wanted to create a guild in some MMO or if they wanted to go right into shooting things.
Ava: "(Closes the taxi door that had the dot of the i a bit different than the rest.) Take us to an extraction zone and hurry! We've got vital information that... got interrupted before we could give it to him last night."
The big buff Black man wearing a very nice formal suit and yellow formal shirt with black and yellow glasses nodded as he began driving off towards the closest extraction zone, which was near the docks and would take fifteen minutes if traffic played nice.
Ava was quiet for the entire trip, as she just wanted to look over her phone and see any and everything she missed in the twenty-four-hour lag for her and Jake, while Jake wanted to do the same but was distracted by the buff Black man, as he could swear he's seen him somewhere before!
It was driving him more insane than trying to figure out what drugged him, as he could recall a name of some sort in the back of his head but couldn't for the life of him recall, especially when the only name that was popping up in his head was freaking Logan!
So, for the rest of the trip, Jake was softly chanting or possibly even mumbling the name Logan over and over again until he realized they were there as Ava tapped his shoulder, causing him to come back to reality.
And to make things even worse had to be the fact that after Jake gave it one more thought and was ready to leave it all behind him as a mystery he was never meant to solve, Ekaj forcibly took control over their body and turned over to the drive and went.
Ekaj: "Hey, Luke, Thanks for driving us all the way over here, and it's good to see your life isn't a complete disaster after the symbiote wars."
Luke: "Nah, it's going to take a lot more than that to get under my skin."
Luke chuckled to himself as Ekaj tapped the hood of the car that had since turned completely black and then drove away as Ekaj switched back with Jake.
Jake screams in his head: "What the heck was that!?"
Ekaj: "(Smiles all coy and innocent-like) I thought seeing you go insane was funny and figured this would make things worse for you and funnier for me, which was true, and I don't regret a single moment of it."
Jake rolled his eyes and dashed over to Ava as the two greeted some agents disguised as fish workers that probably were whenever an agent wasn't around and helped them strap into some prototype teleportation harness that was based around the transporter platform from Star Trek.
Arriving on the helicarrier, Ava was completely fine, while both Jake and Ekaj were vomiting profusely as many janitors and agents helped him to the med bay, which has become a second home to Jake, as this always happens when using the transporter, which is why it was still a prototype even if everyone else was fine when using it.
Of course, the reason why only Jake and Ekaj felt anything was because symbiotes don't like being forcibly split apart from their host, even if it's for nothing more than a nanosecond, and since every cell of a symbiote is alive and feels it when they all combine again, it leads to the scene Jake and everyone are all too familiar with.
Ava: "(Salutes) Sir! Sorry for the delay, sir! Some complications came with the mission last minute, but this soldier is here to report that the mission was as great a success as any, and all files have been wiped from existence, SIR!"
Ava clicks her boots together as she changed from her normal white long-sleeve shirt and green t-shirt, with skinny blue jeans, and some black socks and white sneakers with bits of black and pink splashed around into standard S.H.I.E.L.D. officer wear.
Nick Fury: "(Takes one look at Ava, then continues reading a file he was engrossed in before she barged in, and after an hour of reading, he finally closed it and threw it on his desk.) I'm well aware that everything went fine, as I would have heard about certain secret projects along with some names we don't want to get out. But what I am unfamiliar with is why two of my best agents decided it was fine to play hooky for an entire day, seeming more engrossed with one another than the mission! (Ava opens her mouth but is stopped by Nick Fury bringing a finger to his lips.) Shush. The adult is talking. Now I know you and Agent White S were drugged with a powerful aphrodisiac, as we found it in the remains of the clothes you returned along with samples we took from the room. I understand you had no control over your actions because of this, and unlike any other agent that showed this kind of behavior, where I'd assume it was intentional, I know you two wouldn't do that, especially with each other, so I will just give you both a warning, docked pay, and relief from the next four missions, as you two clearly need more training. DISMISSED!"
Ava salutes Nick Fury back with tears in her eyes, as she's ashamed to have done everything to deserve what she feels is a very harsh punishment when it's in fact the lightest thing Nick Fury could possibly give them, given the crimes they were accused of.
Even that was shortened as much as Nick could get away with, as it was supposed to be a month, but with the help of Coulson and some paperwork mismanagement, the remaining weeks of the month would happen instantaneously.
With great anger burning inside her, Ava marched on over to Jake to try and get to give him a piece of her mind, as she wasn't using logic and just wanted an excuse to hit something that could hit her back as a way of helping ease her conscience.
But things didn't go as planned once she stormed into the med bay and saw Jake wearing nothing but his underwear, running on a treadmill with a mask to help him breathe and needles poking into every single point of his body except for the part his underwear covered and his eyes.
Seeing this pitiful state that was apparently the standard for Jake every time he gets transported erases all her anger, as what could she possibly do that could be considered any worse than everything he was forced to go through when transporting?
Having gotten rid of her hatred and filled her heart with pity instead, Ava would wait for Jake to finish and treat him to the best burger joint in all of New York, which was either owned or partnered with the Thing, aka Benjamin Grimm.
Jake: "It's so weird seeing his face on everything and knowing he has the best eateries in all of New York and one BBQ joint in Texas, apparently."
Jake said, reading off the list of locations that were present in every restaurant of his, that it was apparently one of the few places that sold in bulk, was kosher, and tasted like something made with love like a family, along with being cheap enough for a family of four to eat comfortably!
Ava: "Oh, really? I never noticed before (brings a massive three-stacked burger with lettuce, tomatoes, turkey bacon, and onion rings to her mouth)."
Jake: "(Sinks into his chair as he drops his massive burger) Just how have you never noticed?"
Ava: "(Already licking her lips in the minute it took for Jake to look down and then back up.) I mean, I don't really come here because it's famous; I come for the huge selection of foods and plates they offer since this little guy (flips her jade tiger amulet with her thumb) connects my stomach to his, and because of that, I need to eat lots of meat, or I risk starving myself."
Jake chuckles, which seems to offend Ava for a bit, but Jake is quick to let her know how much he understands, as while it's far less severe now than it was when he first got it, he still has to eat a lot of meat to build up iron and antibodies, as his symbiote needs that stuff to create more of itself.
The two enjoy themselves for quite a long while and almost manage to forget all about that little incident of theirs, if not for Jake's friends arriving and tackling them down to the ground, acting like SWAT as they begin interrogating Ava about where they went and why Jake's been missing for so long.
For some reason Penny, Rose, and Trixie seemed to be the ones doing the questions while Harry was trying to ease tensions between his new friend group and the random people eating here as Gwen holds Jake down with surprising strength as Spud gets himself a bucket of fries.
And that is all for now hope you all enjoyed and until next time stay safe and peace!
