Anarchy!
As the alarm rings in its classic fairytale tune, Haley is forced to wake up as she turns the thing off, being annoyed and a little sad to wake up as tears roll down her cheeks, as she was having the most wonderful dream.
While she can't remember what her dream might have been, she knew that waking up was the last thing she wanted to do, even more so when she realized that today was her birthday.
For most people this would have been a happy and cheerful day, but Haley wasn't a fan of her birthday, as for her it wasn't anything special since her parents were either working all the time or, in the rare instances where they weren't, the city was either getting destroyed or taken over.
But today was different, as her parents had the day off, her brother was back and seemed eager to spend time with his sister and parents, and even better was the fact she started to reconnect with her best friends!
The only thing that was possibly a problem and screamed an omen of disaster to Haley had to be the random golden coiled-up dragon ring with pink eyes that would not come off her middle finger no matter what unless, of course, she was fine with losing her middle finger.
Quickly going through her closet, Haley put on the cutest little outfit she possibly could, which was a white T-shirt with a cherry blossom branch scattering into the wind design, a pink jacket, a skirt that went to her knees with a dragon flying across her right leg, and then just some white socks and white and pink sneakers.
After failing to tie her hair into her usual twin tails, Haley, very grumpy and annoyed, ran to her mother, who was happy to help, as she was somewhat scared that her daughter was growing up far too fast like her brother and was happy to know she still needed her mom's help.
Her father was just happy to see that his wife and daughter were happy with one another, as it's been far too long since he's been able to spend any quality time with either of them, especially his daughter.
Jake, meanwhile, was in the kitchen making many batches of tiny cakes, as Haley couldn't make up her mind on what type of cake she liked, so her family started making batches of tiny cakes, as it lets them all enjoy many types of cakes, and as they're so small, it gives a chance to taste new flavors they never thought possible.
Outwardly Jake was as happy as anyone could possibly be; meanwhile, he was absolutely livid, as his other half, Ekaj, had given his sister a very powerful and very dangerous item that they were supposed to return, as it's far too dangerous to leave alone.
Ekaj: "Hey, with that, no matter what happens, she'll always be safe."
Jake thinks: "She's already safe. As I will never let anything happen to her again."
Ekaj: "Yeah, but you're not always going to be next to her or be able to get to her in time in case something happens to her."
Jake thinks: "There are better ways to keep her safe than some ancient mystic item that could be deadly or even corrupt her."
Ekaj: "That may be true, but we can always just beat her down like we did with Kraven."
Haley and their parents leave through their parents' room, with Haley looking like the prettiest little princess that anyone would be envious of.
The phone rings, and Haley runs as fast as she possibly can, and for a brief second Jake swears he saw pink dots appear next to her legs for but a moment as she somehow manages to get the phone before her father, who was right next to the phone.
Haley grabs the phone and is at first very excited, as one of her best friends is on the other end; however, the joy on her face quickly morphs into sadness as she finds out that her best friends can't join because the city they live in is currently in the middle of a takeover by some gang.
Haley: "I see... thank you for letting me know..."
Haley sadly hangs up the phone and seems to have dog ears and a tail drop down as she flops onto the couch in the living room, as she knew everything was going far too well for it to last, as SOMETHING ALWAYS HAPPENS!
Haley starts beating up the couch as she screams into one of the throw pillows, as this was the first time in a very long time she'd actually begun looking forward to her birthday, which meant that, of course, something had to happen in this damn city!
Seeing that his little sister was feeling down, Jake contemplated whether or not he should leave to try and fix the problem that was going on with her best friend's city block or street, but he knows if he were to do that, then she might be sad.
Jake: "(Slaps his forehead) I'm such a massive idiot."
His parents look at him confused and worried as to what could have brought him to slap his forehead and call himself an idiot, but before they could ask him what was wrong, Jake left the kitchen and entered his bedroom for nothing more than a solid minute.
When he came back out, nothing seemed to have changed except that Jake was smiling and seemed a lot happier as he went over to his sister and started tickling her, which seemed to help cheer her up.
Meanwhile, at Haley's best friend's area, a bunch of bad guys with super advanced equipment that seemed to be infused with alien tech were holding the city block for ransom, as they wanted their leader, the Vulture, back!
Which... is kind of impossible, as he's either dead or just brain dead after a symbiote forcibly attached itself to him, and when the symbiote war finally ended, he and many other villains also forcibly attached themselves to people, like Doc Oc and Hammerhead.
The police knew this was impossible, but they were keeping all information on people who have yet to awaken from the symbiote wars and were trying their best to stall for time as they looked for their current leader and took him out.
Ekaj, who just showed up, had a completely different plan, as he turned into a spider and forcibly attached himself to one of the goons like a parasite and started moving him around however he pleased like a puppet as he forced him to kill his best friend.
Ekaj: "(Sounding demonic) Well, I didn't know either of you were mates, but (charges up gun) you're going to meet them in hell soon nuff."
A bunch of gang members quickly surround Ekaj, but he doesn't care as he starts shooting at everyone that he can see with a gun that comes anywhere near him; whether they be innocent or not does not matter to him in the slightest.
Ekaj: "YES! THIS IS WHAT IT TRULLLLY MEANS TA BE A'LIVE!"
Suddenly Ekaj feels a hole in the center of his host and is annoyed as it starts dropping to the floor, leaving Ekaj without a host to kill everyone... well, for at least a second.
As the second gang member who shot him arrives, Ekaj goes full face hugger and forcibly rips open the man's mouth as he slips and slides down his throat and starts taking over the man's body, which makes him look like a zombie, as anytime Ekaj moves something, it snaps, cracks, and pops.
Ekaj: "(Sounds husky like a zombie) In-ter-est-ing... Move-ment con-trol ackkkk-kno-ledge."
Bending the body down like a goat by breaking the knees and forcing the body down, Ekaj grabs two of the massive rifles he was just using along with all the other gang members and begins duel wielding both guns as he shoots at anything and everything.
Probably because as Ekaj is the darkest parts of Jake, without either of them, Jake becomes nicer as time goes on as Ekaj becomes even more vile and possibly evil, but only when there's enough distance away, as this didn't happen back in Wakanda.
Either that or Ekaj is just channeling all the destructive might in his twisted little mind and using it all up before it possibly becomes too much for either him or Jake to control. Or maybe Ekaj is just a psycho and was limiting his bloodlust while around Jake for some reason.
That doesn't really matter, as Ekaj has managed to destroy just about all of the gang members that were trying to fight for their survival, or at least that's what a random gang member said seconds before Ekaj, in his zombie body, smashed his skull into pieces with the two alien guns.
When Ekaj finished, he exploded the body and turned into a pigeon and started flying away back to Jake, who has been keeping his little sister happy up until massive pink gorilla arms surround Haley's arms and she playfully punches him across the room.
This scares Haley, as, unlike her brother, she never wanted to be anything more than just a normal girl, probably with some sort of martial arts training considering her past, but even worse than that was the fact that she hurt her brother!
But Jake was somehow completely fine even after he punched across the room, but because of the loud bang that came from Jake hitting the island in the kitchen, their parents left their room with their phones in hand as they were having a little meeting.
Seeing this causes Haley to get understandably angry, as she wanted her parents to stay, and as many different animal parts start forming around her, she suddenly stops when she hears her best friends begin knocking on the door.
Haley shrinks back down to normal as the animal parts disappear, and Haley feels much better than before as she practically skips across the room towards the door and hugs her best friends as she forgets everything that happened or was about to happen.
Ekaj, meanwhile, pecks at the glass window, wanting to be let back inside, as Jake opens the window just a bit as the pigeon turns back into a liquid form and merges back with Jake.
Jake thinks: "Did you have fun?"
Ekaj: "Very."
Jake sighs as he remembers he left some cakes inside the oven and moves to grab them, and they were mostly fine except they were just a bit harder and more cracker-like than he would have liked, but everything was still good.
Just like the ring on his sister's finger, there's of course going to be some problems, but since the ring's probably going nowhere. And if everything goes right, then she might be able to protect herself in case something happens to her again.
