Halloween City
It's the night of All Hallows' Eve, and Jake is helping his little sister become the prettiest little dragon princess. While every girl might want to be a princess someday, for some reason his sister wanted to fuse it with dragons, as her love for the two seemed to be even.
Jake, meanwhile, was going as a chained-up zombie lawyer, as he still felt very guilty over everything he caused for Harry and possibly Penny, as she seemed to be a nervous wreck as of late; any time either Jake or Harry talked to her, she'd jolt into action like they scared her.
Both Jake's and Haley's parents have already left for some party that was happening in their building that, for some reason, only adults were invited to. Which is something Jake finds so damn stupid and annoying, as he's basically an adult in everything but age.
Hearing a knock on the door, Jake speeds away with some actual pep in his step as he slides around the place as he desperately tries to beat his sister in opening the door, as he was hoping to find his friends; however, he instead sadly saw his little sister's friends dressed as ninjas, pirates, gentleman vampires, and scruffy werewolves.
Jake: "Hold on a second. (Closes the door and turns towards his sister, who was smiling behind him) I thought all your friends were girls?"
Haley: "They are."
Jake: "So why the heck are you the only one even close to dressing up like it?"
Haley: "(Playfully hits Jake's knee with her princess magic wand) Shame on you. It's no longer the time for us women to only dress in girly things. For we can dress however we desire!"
Jake: "(Rolls his eyes) Yeah, yeah. Well then, Mrs. Champion of female virtue, I hope you and all your little friends have fun, and remember (crouches down beside her), I'm always watching in case you need me."
Haley smiles and lets out a tiny tear that she quickly gets rid of, as she was wearing makeup for the first time, and neither she nor Jake knew how to fix it if something were to happen to it.
Waving goodbye to his sister as she happily leaves their home for the first time that Jake has seen with her friends, he knows she's missed over the years. Jake lets out a small tear over his sister growing up and finally being able to leave the house without him or their parents or risk a panic attack.
Going over to the candy bowl, Jake takes his favorite spicy chocolate bar and eats one of the fun-sized bits and then pockets another for later as he hears a knock on the door, and this time it is in fact his friends, with Harry dressed as some green goblin-looking creature with bits of what he probably thinks is cool, like an oversized purple hoodie with a pumpkin face design and some purple shorts.
Penny, meanwhile, was dressed like a formal butler or detective from a noir, as she wore some massive black sweater, pants with kneepads sewn onto them, and some boots with the pants tucked into them as a massive black trench coat flowed in the wind. Penny was the one who buzzed the door, and from that Jake saw she was also wearing fingerless gloves along with holding a black fedora.
Penny: "Hey Jake! Cool costume (hops back to give a little twirl). How do I look?"
Both Harry and Jake don't say anything but instead just whistle at their friend, with Harry pretending to make it rain as Penny danced for the imaginary cash while Jake pulled Penny in for a hug after spinning her around for a bit as he put some candy in her pocket.
Jake: "Alright, so what the heck are we doing?"
Penny: "Flash told me about this club he and Eddie had made, and while I've never been there before, I've been hearing word from our classmates and people our age and even older whispering its name."
Jake stopped dancing once he heard Flash's name but continued after Penny playfully forced him to keep shaking like a hula girl with her as she kept smiling like a living sunflower, almost to the point that Jake found it hard to remember that she was Spider-Woman.
Harry: "(Rubs the back of his head nervously) Uh... I don't mean to harsh the mellow, as it were, but if we're going to be doing something illegal, I can't go with you guys, you know, because of the swatting that just happened."
Jake felt a ping in his heart almost like it got shot, and thanks to S.H.I.E.L.D. and his training, he actually knew what it felt like getting shot in general and even at his heart, along with his symbiote seeming to fake his death or revive him whenever it happened.
Of course, hearing this stumped Penny for a little while before she realized something so amazing and genius that she was amazed that she hadn't thought of it beforehand.
Penny: "Hey... how about we still go but just... not. get. caught?"
She said while swinging massively from side to side and staying for five seconds after every one of her pauses before she swung back to the other side, which left both Jake and Hary confused, as this is the most moronic thing she could have said just moments after Hary said he didn't want to be involved with the police any more than he had to.
The two for a solid five minutes just stare at Penny, as they couldn't believe what she said, and even worse was how she was acting like she found no fault in her own logic.
Jake: "Look... let's just not go clubbing because it's lame, and every time I've done it, I've rarely had fun and only did so when I was talking to someone in a booth away from all the crazy. Let's instead go to our arcade."
This seemed to work wonders for Penny, as she seemed to forget everything; she just thought of going to Flash and Eddie's club, which Jake made a mental note of visiting, as there's no way something isn't going on after the whole Symbiote wars.
Now the arcade that Penny, Jake, and Harry all like going to is one that doesn't really exist as well; it's basically an illegal arcade, but only because no one knows that power is going inside it thanks to the way everything is wired.
As the hidden arcade was made inside some guy's basement who planned and tried to make a tower all the way to the bottom of old New York City but failed to do so after the horrors the construction workers heard whenever they tried.
So, what remained were the three buildings creating the top of the corkscrew that all sealed off the entrance to the place that a young child, Penny, found after her glasses fell through some cracks that were just big enough for all the kids to fit.
Present day, the trio has made the massive building their own private space they call the arcade so that none of the adults would find them and possibly ruin their fun, as they made a really amazing place to relax.
Much better than Jake's secret little cove, as the water and wind always pose a risk for anything he, Spud, Trixie, and... Rose all left behind for more than a week.
Marching on towards the local park, the trio wait for the cars to pass before making a mad dash towards the place as they hop down into one of the many subway tracks that were poking out for all to see as the city just stopped caring to fix them after every battle or so until they got a complaint.
Hopping down into one, the trio dashed behind a realistic-looking wall that was actually just a massive blanket to cover the entrance that had very powerful magnets sewn into it to keep it in place as the group went through the doorway into their ARCADE!
The only place in all of New York that had every game the group loved to play, which was a trial in and of itself getting down here over the years, but now that Jake thinks about it, it was probably all thanks to Penny, as he remembers everything got easier halfway through the year after Uncle Ben died.
Walking down into their arcade, everyone goes their own way as they go on to check everything they left here since their last visit, which for Jake had been before the start of the symbiote wars, which was probably eight months ago.
Jake went over to the couch and flopped on it as dust went all over the place and mostly in Jake's eyes and mouth, along with giving Jake a full mask of dust particles that made it seem like Jake was wearing a face mask.
Harry went over to their little bar area, where he placed some soda two weeks ago inside one of the many mini fridges he and Jake mashed and morphed into a long vertical fridge with multiple doors, along with a massive book of things Harry mixed together as a sort of kid's cocktail.
Mixing a red soda with a brown one that had loads of foam and just a splash of a tiny can of fruit soda plus some lemon juice and a tiny sugar packet inside the soda and giving it a good mix, with Harry chugging it down and hating the taste, as he's grown out of liking it, but it's become a sort of routine anytime he comes here.
Penny, meanwhile, was looking over all the electric wire and the games they had here just to make sure everything was still fine and nothing had broken since she hadn't been there for six months, as she had lots of other things going through her head.
Twelve minutes is how long it took for Penny to look through everything and find out nothing was wrong other than the wiring being atrocious, but she made the same promise once again of fixing it all... next time.
Once all three of them were finished with their usual routines, they gathered around the now dusted-off couch and sat down as they all started playing rock, paper, scissors to make a game plan for everything they were to do for about six hours or so.
Harry's plan - making disgusting drinks and seeing who could chug the most of it, then watching some comedy horror, which was either actual comedic horror movies or horror movies so bad they became comedy films, and then finishing the night off going up against each other in rhythm games and seeing who mastered control over their bodies.
Penny's plan - make a brand-new drink based on something vague like happiness, sadness, gluttony, envy, and so on and try to make a drink that tastes like it, then binge-watch some show she found and was waiting for a time like this, and since they started doing that, she has about a hundred or so shows to watch, and finally, she wants to play some shooting games, as she loves destroying Harry and Jake at shooting games since they suck and she rules at them even if they both worked together to take her on.
Jake's plan - fill up a giant barrel of various candy and then a special ingredient that only they know in each barrel before finally filling it all up with a soda of each of their choices and keep at it until they finish and then mix it around for a bit before drinking; next is watching something funny—he isn't really picky on stand-up, movies, or shows, with any of them being old or new so long as he and at least one of the others find it funny; and lastly, driving games or any game that has a high score that they all fight to keep.
Speaking of it, it finally hit Jake why Penny for years kept going as SWW, which probably meant Spider-Woman Wins. "What a cocky little minx," is all Jake could think as she playfully smiled at him and giggled.
Harry won the final game, Penny won the first game, and Jake won the second game, and it was just a chaotic mix of things going on as Harry made an ENVY drink for some reason while Penny made something called GAY, which she swears she wasn't as did the guys, and Jake just made something he called CONTENT.
While chugging their drinks, each of them made a funny face at either the beginning or when they were just about finished their drinks. As they all watched the same sitcom, they always watched about some wizard family with one of them trying to make it on the early internet with her magic while trying to hide it.
Finally, the dance battles began, and Harry was way too into the games. Every time they played here, Jake always wondered if Harry was truly straight, as the way he moved and acted while ONLY playing the dancing games made it very hard for Jake to be certain.
And every time they played, Jake would find some reason to get out of playing, and this time, he had an honest-to-God excuse, as he felt Ekaj tug at him, which meant Haley was in trouble, as Jake placed him there, and since he was his opposite, he would work his hardest to keep her safe.
Rushing out the door and through everything, Jake quickly shifted into his first form, which was his monster form, but at the moment Jake didn't care about any of that, as he thought his sister was in danger, and the fear he inflicted on many people, including a couple of robbers that were arguing, was that Jake turned at least one of them into a blood splatter after landing on it.
Quickly rushing and crashing right through about five buildings at a downward angle, Jake crashes onto the floor, cracking the sidewalk and road massively as Jake rushes and dives into some bushes and transforms back into his normal self and rushes out, trying his best to tidy himself up.
Thankfully there was no damage or problems with Haley and her friends. And when Penny and Harry caught up, they too realized this as they saw Jake happily chatting with a group of three people.
Penny: "(Panting) Who... who are (pants) they?"
Haley: "Oh, they're old friends of my brothers."
This calmed the group down, as they once saw Jake talk someone down from trying to hurt him and Harry, but that was only to weaken his guard before Jake started beating him up as hard as he could, and neither of the two wanted that to happen in front of kids they don't know.
Grabbing the candy bar Penny found in her pocket while dancing against Harry, she was about to put it in her mouth, but after hearing what Haley said next, she bit it clean in half, wrapper and all.
Haley: "I don't really know them that well other than, of course, that my brother used to date one of them."
Jake: "Hey guys! Meet my friends Rose, Trixie, and Spud!"
The first thing Penny and Harry noticed was that Rose had a dragon birthmark on her left hand, which was a little odd, but no one really had control over how a birthmark forms.
Penny tried her best to pretend like everything was normal, but she couldn't help being jealous over knowing that one of these girls could have dated her best friend and she would have never known!
Her anger mostly came from the fact one of them could possibly know something she doesn't about Jake and just a bit from her own feelings that she had yet to fully understand.
Harry, meanwhile, was having a grand old time with Trixie and Spud as the two helped him with things he was worrying about while also teaching him some pretty cool areas to skate on or just relax in general... till security comes.
Jake gives all three of his friends a massive hug, and as he does, Penny sees both Trixie and Rose look at her and smile in a way that she didn't really like, causing her to fully break the other piece of the chocolate bar she was trying to eat to calm herself down.
Which wasn't going to work at all, as the thing had some spice to it that would just rile her up even further if she wasn't too distracted to notice the taste of what she was trying to eat.
