Breakthrough
After countless days and hours of practice, Jake had finally managed to fuse the powers of the dark symbiote with himself, and once he did, he felt a sudden burst of energy flowing inside along with suddenly being much faster than before.
Black Widow: "Congratulations. You've managed to (grunts as she twists Jake's arm) move up from having your legs get twisted to just one of your arms this time."
Hawkeye: "(Holds dartboard) And you've gotten a whole lot better at throwing than you were before. I mean, Jesus, you used to miss most of your shots, but now you've hit all but one of the dartboards at least one time!"
Black Widow lets go of Jake's arm as the young man pants and gasps for air as he violently rips open his uniform to get some more air as he takes a single sip of water from his bottle before unscrewing the top and pouring it all over himself.
Jack: "Ugh, it's not enough! I still feel hot!"
Jake stumbles through the corridors as Hawkeye watches over him since if Black Widow walked into any shower room made for the trainees, she might just kill all of them from blood loss, and as funny as that would be, both Hawkeye and Black Widow knew it wasn't funny enough to deal with Nick Fury's wrath.
As Jake stumbles through the hallway, he barges into the showers, not caring about the fact that he entered the woman's showers by mistake, and if things weren't already bad enough, besides all the random female trainees, Lela and Ava were also in the shower.
Seeing Jake barge in, the two women got ready to destroy him. Jake, but they, along with everyone else, stopped when Jake ran right underneath a showerhead and seemed to collapse from heat stroke.
Hawkeye: "(Bang hand on the doorway wall) Listen, I don't want to cause any problems with anyone, but if you could just toss me the sack that was Jake (does the okay hand sign), that'd be swell!"
When Jake woke up, he was in the infirmary, and he had not one but two IV bags hooked up to both his arms along with a cooling sheet, pillow, and fans; they did everything but throw him into cold storage in an effort to cool the boy off.
Stepping out of the room, a large gust of wind, or rather steam, blows throughout the entire Helicarrier, causing great annoyance in probably everyone other than Lela and maybe Ava, but that just depends on just how much of a cat she is.
Jake: "Hello (knocks on his head), are you in there?"
Ekaj: "(Groans as if he just woke up from a nap) What!? (Yawns and then smacks his lips for a bit) I'm always here; you don't have to freaking knock your head like it's a damn door."
Jake: "Look, can you tell me what happened while I was out?"
Ekaj: "If you can't tell (yawns), I myself just woke up."
Jake: "Meaning???"
Ekaj: "You weren't just a little bit unconscious; you were so completely and utterly knocked out that I was able to sleep for the first time. And I got to say I freaking loved it, just doing nothing and relaxing, especially the feeling of energy I got from it."
Jake: "... Wait, you've never slept before?"
Ekaj: "(Fully appears in front of Jake wearing a button-up pajama set) No. I'm a part of you and your mind, so I've never needed, truly understood, or desired sleep. I mean, even now that I know of it, it's something I'll do from time to time, but that's just if I have nothing better to do, as you need someone to watch your back."
Having nothing else to say, Jake keeps walking through the halls and enters his class, where everyone was already seated and was very surprised to see him standing and walking as he took his seat while trying to ignore the intense stare from everyone.
Agent Coulson: "Ah, Mr. Long, it's so good to see you here. We were starting to get worried that you'd be asleep for another week and miss the finals."
Jake doesn't know what to say about this and just looks away from everyone, as he is too embarrassed by how long he's been sleeping.
Agent Coulson: "Well, now that you're up. You are to work harder than everyone for all the missed training days."
Jake: "What?"
Agent Coulson pressed a button on his desk, and the next thing Jake knew, he was falling straight down into the giant robot arena he was forced into on his first day of training.
Agent Coulson over speaker: "Since without a time machine it would be impossible for you to catch up with everyone else, you are to have no breaks, eat only MREs, and find sleep whenever you can, as you're on the clock and your mission started the very second you fell through the floor."
The speaker turns off, and the room slowly starts getting brighter as the robots' eyes start glowing along with their other parts as the electric hum fills the room, causing Jake mild annoyance that makes him angrier the longer it goes on.
Jake: "Arg, why am I so ANGRY!"
Ekaj: "Because I'm here, and they have a set frequency that's just shy of what would cause me to be uncontrollably expelled from your body."
Jake charges at the first machine monster designated as 0-1, and from how simple it seemed to be moving, it was pretty clear this was going to be some gladiatorial style of combat where the more enemies he beats, the tougher they're going to become.
0-1 took about a second or two for Jake to destroy it, and everyone after that up till number ten took just mere seconds, while number ten took an entire minute to beat... however, most of that time was because Jake and Ekaj were arguing with each other over what symbiote they should absorb next.
Jake: "What's wrong with the Purple one!?"
Ekaj: "It's too basic. I mean, everyone has tech powers along with advanced suits of armor. Which is why I say we should go for Green or Yellow."
Jake: "(Grabs a punch from number 11) But what's the point of Green if we have nothing to use it with!?" And Yellows are only good when we get beast DNA, as it's just some halfway shift from man and beast."
Ekaj: "Oh yeah? Then why don't we absorb the red one then? I mean, if it doesn't matter and there's no use for the others, then why not be able to create weapons!?"
Jake: "Look. (Pulls number 11 towards him and then cracks its neck if it had one.) How about when this is over and we get some time to relax, we just flip a coin tournament style till we eventually land on one?"
Ekaj: "(Sarcastically yawns) Yeah... I guess if you want to be boring and go with the safest option out there."
Jake: "How the heck is it the "safe" option when it's all up to FREAKING LUCK!"
Just then number 12 appears, and unlike all the others, this one seems to be a fast and slender model as it quickly approaches Jake, only for him to punch a hole straight through its chest, destroying its entire backside with his glowing white fist.
Jake: "(Slowly moves his hand to the side as he slowly grabs it) AHHHH! Why the heck does it always hurt so damn much when that green and yellow guy seemed to be perfectly fine whenever he tries?"
Ekaj: "Probably because this power came from him, and you're just using an inferior copy based on how you think it works. In fact, if you used his Black friend's ability in tandem with the fist, since the guy seemed to be really good at taking a beating."
Jake: "Yeah, but that's impossible; we can only use one person's ability at a time."
Ekaj: "Yes. But that was when you just had my power to rely on. (Slowly walks to the side, leaving behind a dark shadow.)"
Dark Ekaj: "(Talks in a much darker and possibly demonic voice) And with my power you can use however many powers we acquire all at once."
Number thirteen appears looking like a giant walking shield and tank as it slowly approaches Jake, and with a glint in its eye, a white and dark flame appears in both. Jake ran straight towards the robot and leaped into the air and used the power of Mr. Fantastic to summon a white hand and latched onto the robot.
Using the power of science to help speed him up, Jake calls for the powers of the white fist and shielded skin that emitted a dark glow. He mostly missed the giant robot, but the tiny graze he had managed to inflict on number thirteen caused the entire Helicarrier to rumble and shake.
-Inside Nick Fury's office-
Nick Fury: "Damn, kid! (Looks up) And you're telling me he's this strong with just two of those mother$#!@ symbiote powers of his fused together?"
Agent Coulson: "Yes, sir. From the records we gathered from some of the "volunteers" we gained from the previous event, we've found that a host with more symbiotes seems to grow exponentially compared to having just a single symbiote."
Agent Coulson brings up a picture of some giant dead symbiote with black and red skin, if you could call it that, as next to it, it was listed as having at first weapons as weak and thin as paper, but after it "ate" for a while, its weapons grew to the strength of wood, iron, steel, and so on until they were able to cut through metal as it tried to break out.
Agent Coulson: "If this thing was smart enough to enhance its giant claw hands instead of trying to cut its way out with a giant axe, then we could have had a problem."
Nick Fury: "(Leans back in his chair as he grabs a cigar and glass of brandy and just looks at them in his hands for a bit as he leans forward) Do you ever wonder if it's the right thing to place our hopes in a group of kids that have the powers to potentially fight against gods?"
Agent Coulson: "Sir?"
Nick Fury: "(Gulps down his brandy and places the glass down) All these mother$#!@!^& reports from all the different teams have begun to make me wonder what would happen if even one of them were to turn against us like (turns his monitor so it's facing Coulson) this one here."
Agent Coulson: "Sir? I don't understand; they've been an amazing trainee so far and have followed every word to the law."
Nick Fury: "But that doesn't mean they haven't been playing chess with some of their teammates to get information and things they want. I've looked through some of the footage, or rather a lot of footage involving them, and saw and read how they talked with others. For instance, they know all about our enemies and the fact that while we may be at a ceasefire, it's only because neither of us really knows where the other is at. Along with that they—"
Agent Coulson: "SIR! I think you're overreacting here."
Nick Fury just stares at Agent Coulson for a good long while as Coulson begins to sweat and his lips start trembling as sweat starts pouring from his head and neck as he eventually relents.
Agent Coulson: "Sir, I can understand where you're coming from, but it just doesn't make any sense!"
Nick Fury: "And that's the best kind of sense. It's the reason I'm the only leader of this ragtag group that hasn't been killed yet, as I've suspected every single person that I haven't personally checked out and hired. So, you best believe that when I feel like someone's not being truthful, I have a pretty damn good understanding and reason to feel like they are up to something!"
Agent Coulson: "So what do you want to do, sir?"
Nick Fury: "Look at them, review them, and understand them along with the reason why they might betray S.H.I.E.L.D., and only once you fully understand why they did so, do I want you to move in and apprehend them. Till then, become a shadow that follows their every move since you could be right and I'm just looking into things, but (leans back in his chair) it never hurts to be wary of everyone that you can't trust."
Agent Coulson: "Yes, sir. Right away."
Nick Fury: "COULSON!"
Agent Coulson: "(As he opens the door, he turns around.) Yes, sir?"
Nick Fury: "I got this big box of pizza coupons from my niece, as she thinks I work way too long and have too few friends. And since you're one of the people I trust the most, I say use this box for your team or classes (rips out a single coupon for a large pizza), and whenever you're free, we can get something to eat while we work."
Agent Coulson: "(Smiles) Yes, sir."
Agent Coulson leaves the room like normal, but everyone that has known him for a very long time knows the man was practically jumping with joy out of Nick Fury's office, which was odd, as he was either normal or walking a bit depressed.
And that is all for now hope you all enjoyed and until next time stay safe and peace!
