Morgan suddenly made a comparison. "The prana you’re releasing rivals even Mélusine, the strongest fairy knight, at least physically."

I was surprised by this comparison; the prana I unknowingly spread rivals that of Mélusine?

You have to know that, previously, even with all of my powers, I wouldn’t be certain of my victory if I fought Mélusine to the death.

And now you’re telling me the prana I couldn’t even sense rivals that dragon?

Right now, I’m starting to doubt how powerful I’ve become.

And this is merely a nascent aeon; if I were to ascend later, how much would my power increase?

I decided to stop guessing; it’s better to familiarize myself with my power because it’s practically guaranteed that I will ascend; it’s just a matter of time.

By then, I would know how much boost I’ll receive.

"By that much?"

"Yes, it might be even slightly stronger," Morgan confirmed.

With that, I couldn’t help but smile. With my newfound power, I’d be able to beat basically anyone below the Ultimate Ones.

Although it inflated my ego for a bit, I quickly crushed that feeling before it got worse.

I have no intention of becoming arrogant; I wouldn’t be the second coming of Gilgamesh.

Then I silently apologized to one of my lovers in my heart: sorry, Gil, you know it’s true.

While she may have the capital to be arrogant, sometimes it’s a bit much.

Looking at her male counterpart, it was seriously embarrassing, and I have nothing against my brother-in-law. We all know that if it weren’t for the fact that Gilgamesh has a massive ego and arrogance that reaches the heavens themselves.

Shirou would have lost the war back then; it’s only thanks to Gilgamesh being unwilling to use his full potential that he was defeated by being too cocky.

(A/N: If it wasn’t for the fact that Gilgamesh genuinely has amazing feats, I would have called him Potential Man, but he has proven again and again that he was no bum.)

Anyway, that’s what it got him. A humiliating defeat when he had the absolute advantage, yet died either way.

He’s definitely a person I shouldn’t learn from, because no matter how overpowered you are, a single moment of stupidity could literally cost your life.

Therefore, I shouldn’t strive to become Gilgamesh!

Reject ego and arrogance, embrace being cautious and low-key!

Morgan finally couldn’t contain her curiosity anymore and asked me. "What exactly did you buy from the catalog? For a moment, when that light went inside your body, I was completely suppressed down to my very core, like some divine being descended right in front of me."

Hearing her question, I was quite surprised by her accurate deduction, because it was indeed a divine being descending into my soul.

Aeons are essential gods, not just minor gods that rely on people’s faith, but high-tiered gods that are tied to a certain aspect.

Although I’m still a nascent aeon, I have touched the level of divinity; more than that, I wasn’t merely a minor deity that was born from the wishes of humanity.

I don’t need people’s faith to continue existing or be powered by it; instead, I let people follow the path I am currently walking.

Which is the philosophical path of [Victory]. With my very existence, the concept of victory has now become an immutable law; what used to be just a word has now turned into massive amounts of imaginary energy.

I reckon once I go back to my world, the path of victory would soon be filled.

Meaning that there would be a bunch of pathstriders going to pop out; as long as their philosophy aligned with the concept of victory, there’s a high chance that they would walk my path.

It would surely cause chaos in the Moonlight World, as they would find it the hard way that they aren’t the only people with mystical abilities.

Even Alaya and Gaia can’t prevent Pathstrider from being born.

After all, how could the mere will of humanity and the ego of a single planet stop a being that was tied to a universal concept of [ Victory].

It’s not merely a single planet’s problem, but the entire universe.

It wouldn’t be just humans who could walk the path of victory.

Anyone and anything could become a pathstrider as long as it aligned with their personal philosophy.

Basically, how they view the world itself.

While I could theoretically contain the awakening of my path within humanity, the only species that could walk through my path.

However, I have no reason to do that. Unlike magic, which consists of mystery, the more people know, the weaker it will become.

Therefore, magecraft is a finite resource; that’s why magi take secrets very seriously; it’s engraved deep into their DNA.

However, imaginary path energy was the opposite; it was infinite, unlike the dying thaumaturgic.

It doesn’t matter how many pathstriders there are; it won’t take a single thing away from me.

Instead, it would only create more benefits for me; it’s a win-win situation.

The more people walked through my path, the more it would nourish my core, making me more powerful.

The only downside is that it would literally change the work’s existing structure.

Considering how rotten the world has gotten, maybe it’s a good thing.

I certainly won’t stop my believers from achieving [Victory]. As I stated before, the concept of victory is very broad; it could literally be anything.

As long as the end goal brings you victory, it counts.

It’s very easy for people to walk this path; after all, most people yearn for [Victory]. While the concept is common, it’s hard to be awakened, as one needs a drive to achieve victory, no matter what the goal is; as long as it is achieved through sheer conviction, only then will you be able to walk the [ Victory ] path.

Not to mention, I would be the only reigning Aeon of this universe, which means I alone am supreme.

So, all in all, I’m a literal God.

But there’s a tiny bit of a problem with this arrangement, since I’ll be bringing the imaginary energy to my world.

There’s a high possibility that other paths would soon be born, so I’m essentially a catalyst that would change the natural progression of my entire universe.

Is it really a bad thing?

I’m sure it wouldn’t be fine.

(A/N: It will not; there’s a reason why Honkai: Star Rail is dubbed as an anime version of Warhammer 40K, not that Nasuverse is any better. Instead of a single planet filled with suffering, why not make it universal? It wouldn’t be fair not to share this kind of ’love’ with others.)

"This is the kind of thing I bought. I don’t know much about it myself; I just know that it would make me powerful." I showed them the list of Aeon cores; the catalog description was kind enough to include the origins and history of these Aeon cores.

Alongside the warning about the threat it represents.

Not only was Morgan reading it carefully, but Emiya also did, as he was curious about what exactly his boss acquired.

And after a half-hour of silence, Emiya was the first one to blurt out a curse. "What the fuck? You actually bought this kind of thing? Are you sure it’s wise?"

Upon learning the consequences of becoming an aeon, his hands were starting to itch; after all, his boss was going to be an existence that could potentially lead humanity to extinction.

While he has no love of becoming a hero of justice again, it doesn’t mean that he would ignore an extinction-level crisis that would not only doom humanity but also Earth.

And the source was his boss; he was having an internal conflict.

On the other hand, he knew his boss’s personality very well; he’s someone who is too lazy to even bother planning for humanity’s extinction.

He wouldn’t be the cause, but rather the source.

When he was still a counter guardian, he met and slew countless monsters wearing human skin, some so disgusting that death seemed to be too good for people like them.

Because he knew human nature very well, Emiya believed that once the so-called path energy got activated, there would be no shortage of madmen who would use this opportunity to cause chaos.

Which would accelerate humanity’s doom.

That’s why he instinctively wanted to eliminate the source before it could spread, a habit he learned from working as a counter guardian, even though he’s already retired and living well...he can’t just change his nature.

But Emiya knew trying to eliminate his boss would do no good for him, not to mention that with his boss’s newfound power, he wouldn’t be able to eliminate him anyway.

There’s no chance of succeeding.

So in the end, he relaxed his nerves and prayed that humanity wouldn’t be stupid enough to drive itself through extinction.

But he knew deep down it would be only a matter of time before that happened.

Because he himself had no more faith in humanity as a whole.

A/N: Emiya be like, "Faith in humanity? What’s that? Can you eat it?"
