Chapter 291: One Against a Hundred
Meanwhile, behind Lin Feng, a powerfully built man in black rushed forward, swinging his arm around to slap a palm at Lin Feng's shoulder.
The black-clothed man had a messy mop of short hair, but his square-jawed face was sharp and well-defined.
After being knocked to the ground by Lin Feng, his fierce eyes burned with killing intent. His right hand formed an eagle's claw, his nails incredibly sharp, as he lunged at Lin Feng once more.
Lin Feng's expression tightened. 'I can't take that head-on,' he thought. 'I'm already exhausted. A direct clash would be a terrible idea.'
BAM!
Lin Feng ducked his head, evading the eagle claw. He then stomped his right foot hard on the ground, launching himself into the air. Rotating one hundred and eighty degrees, he used his downward momentum to unleash a sweeping kick at the man in black.
The kick was immensely powerful, chopping down with the force of a thunderbolt. It could have shattered a boulder.
But the man in black was an Innate Master, after all. Seeing the kick coming, he immediately raised his left arm to block. Lin Feng's kick was too fast, however; the block came a little too late.
Lin Feng's leg slammed hard into the man's left arm. The blow sent the man staggering back several steps, but he seemed largely unharmed.
THUD!
The man in black collapsed to the ground, clutching his left arm. Large beads of sweat broke out on his forehead, and his eyes were filled with unconcealable panic.
Lin Feng also took two steps back to steady himself. His face was a little pale, but his eyes were ice-cold as he looked at the man in black as if he were already dead.
SHING!
With a wave of his hand, Lin Feng sent a cold glint of light flashing through the air. A dagger—the very one he had casually picked up from the ground earlier—embedded itself in the floor just in front of the man in black.
The man in black glared at Lin Feng, his eyes filled with venom, but he remained still.
'Lin Feng's power completely exceeded my expectations,' he thought. 'I have to stay calm, or I'm dead for sure.'
Lin Feng's eyes narrowed slightly. He didn't rush to attack. The last few exchanges had cost him a great deal of energy, and he needed to recover and regulate his breathing.
BAM!
Just then, several more pitch-black Willow Leaf Darts shot toward Lin Feng from the shadows. His eyes narrowed, then he stomped his right foot, launching himself into the air. With a flick of his hands, two silver needles shot out.
TING! TING!
With two sharp, crisp sounds, the silver needles precisely struck the incoming projectiles, knocking them from the air. Lin Feng then did a backflip, landing on the dilapidated staircase.
Lin Feng's series of movements flowed like water, as if practiced a million times. What appeared to be a flurry of chaotic actions was, in fact, a sequence where every single move had been carefully calculated.
Though it takes time to describe, it all happened in the blink of an eye. Seeing the attack fail, the ambusher melted back into the shadows, knowing it wasn't the right time to show himself.
A wicked smile played on the black-clothed man's lips as he watched Lin Feng dodge the ambush. "You're truly skilled," he said slowly. "I underestimated you."
The man's eyes were grim as he spoke, his tone flat but laced with murderous intent.
But his body was trembling slightly, revealing his inner unease. His face gradually flushed red, and his breathing became rapid.
"In that case, you can die," Lin Feng said, his eyes turning cold. He tapped his foot lightly and shot toward the man in black.
At the same time, he clenched his right fist. A tempest of raw energy swirled around it, emitting a low roar.
The man in black took a deep breath. His face grew increasingly grim; he knew he was in grave danger.
His stamina was rapidly declining, but he had no choice but to desperately resist the pressure.
"Hah!"
With a low roar, the man in black leaped up. At the same time, the thick stench of blood filled the air.
A bloody gash stretched across his right arm. Blood dripped steadily from the wound, staining his clothes red.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Lin Feng's fists fell like rain, each one landing solidly against the man's body and sending him flying backward again and again.
CRACK... CRACK!
After a series of sickening cracks, the man in black's body finally slammed into a wall.
He lay on the ground, his face a twisted, hideous mask of pain. He struggled to get up, but it was no use.
Lin Feng walked closer, looking down on him, his eyes still just as cold and merciless.
The man's face contorted in agony. At last, he closed his eyes in resignation, awaiting death's arrival.
Lin Feng reached out, grabbed the man by the collar, and hauled him to his feet. Then, he threw a single punch. The man's head exploded into a mush of flesh and bone, splattering a pool of foul blood across the ground.
The onlookers were stunned by the horrific, bloody scene. They stared at Lin Feng, frozen in shock. No one had expected him to actually kill the man in front of everyone.
As the man's corpse collapsed, his white-gloved left hand detached, rolling a few times across the floor before coming to a stop.
Without a second glance at the corpse, Lin Feng turned and walked deeper into the building.
'The only thing that matters now is saving Su Yanxue,' he thought. 'Everything else can wait.'
As Lin Feng advanced, the assassins hidden in the surrounding shadows instinctively backed away, their eyes filled with dread.
They were shaken by how cleanly and efficiently Lin Feng had dealt with the man. There's a saying that even a mighty dragon can't crush a native serpent. This was their lair, their home turf, where they should have held every advantage.
Yet, just now, Lin Feng had single-handedly and casually killed several of their lesser masters.
And then, even in his half-crippled state, he had annihilated an Innate Master. Though they had the advantage in numbers, all they could do was take potshots from the shadows.
SWOOSH!
Suddenly, a figure flashed into view, darting toward Lin Feng. The person was slender and wrapped in a black robe.
Only a pair of eyes was visible, and their gaze was incomparably cold. With a flick of the wrist, three pitch-black Willow Leaf Darts flew from his hand.
WHOOSH!
The Willow Leaf Darts tore through the air with a piercing shriek, aimed straight for Lin Feng's throat. The attacker's eyes were utterly frigid.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Lin Feng threw three lightning-fast punches, instantly obliterating the three dark Willow Leaf Darts. His body then shot forward, and in an instant, he was right in front of the slender man.
