The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 290: Reverse Scale

WHOOSH!

A cold glint flared in Lin Feng's eyes. This man in black had crossed his line. He would never allow anyone to harm Su Yanxue in the slightest.

'And at this critical moment, the man is actually blocking me over the Purple Reishi in my hand?'

'These bastards must die!'

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed as he instantly shot into the air. He twisted his waist and hips mid-flight, unleashing a sweep kick.

A trace of disdain flashed in the black-clad man's eyes. He had received word that Lin Feng was already heavily injured. 'To dare attack me now... he's truly overestimating himself.'

A mocking smile touched his lips, but his hands moved quickly. He met Lin Feng's attack head-on with a Tiger Crane Double Form Fist, certain that this one move would be enough to cripple Lin Feng's arm.

But he had gravely underestimated Lin Feng. In this exchange, Lin Feng only took half a step back before steadying himself.

BANG!

A muffled thud echoed as their fists collided. The ground where Lin Feng stood instantly cracked and collapsed as a violent shockwave radiated outward, kicking up a sky full of dust.

Lin Feng, however, hadn't moved an inch. He slowly retracted his fist. He knew there was no peaceful way out of this fight tonight.

Since his opponents had their eyes on his Purple Reishi, they wouldn't just give up. The only possible outcome now was a life-or-death battle. This was why he had chosen to clash head-on.

BOOM!

Just as Lin Feng was about to make his move, a rustling sound came from the surrounding bushes. Figures shot out from the woods one after another—at a rough glance, there were more than a dozen of them.

"Hahaha... Lin Feng, you might as well surrender! There's no escape for you now!"

The leader in black threw his head back and laughed maniacally, while the other black-clad men watched Lin Feng with cold indifference.

In their eyes, even Lin Feng at his peak wouldn't be able to escape today. This was a trap, a snare they had designed specifically for him.

Lin Feng stood there quietly, watching the men in black. His expression was placid, but a hint of mockery touched his lips. His eyes narrowed slightly as he said coolly, "Are you sure there's no escape for me?"

Seeing Lin Feng remain so calm, a surge of anger rose in the hearts of the black-clad men.

In their experience, anyone in this situation should have been scared enough to piss their pants, not looking as calm and unbothered as Lin Feng.

A sense of unease began to creep into their hearts. They realized they might have picked a fight with someone they couldn't handle.

"Hmph, no matter how strong you are, you're still injured. There are twenty of us here. Let's see how you fight your way out of this! I'm going to cripple you today and avenge Third Brother!"

the leader in black shouted coldly. Although Lin Feng's strength was formidable, he was far too young—a full twelve years younger than Third Brother. This gave him the confidence that victory was certain.

Lin Feng didn't speak. He simply closed his eyes slightly. To the astonishment of the crowd, he bent his knees and suddenly leaped.

BANG!

He stomped a foot down, leaving a deep crater in the ground as his figure shot high into the air. Then, he dove toward the man in black.

WHOOSH!

Lin Feng's body tumbled through the air like a sea dragon bursting from the ocean. He spread his arms, his legs stabbing toward the black-clad man's chest like a pair of steel awls.

The black-clad man's eyes sharpened. His pupils contracted violently, and his body instinctively retreated as he assumed a defensive posture in mid-air.

POW!

A rapid series of impacts rang out as the two exchanged blows. Lin Feng's legs lashed out like steel whips, but the man in black merely defended, avoiding a direct confrontation.

Although he was an Innate Martial Artist, he was rich in combat experience. He knew the best tactic now was to tie Lin Feng down and wait for his brothers to interfere.

Lin Feng was no fool. He had long since noticed the trap laid out around him, but he had charged in without a second thought anyway.

BAM!

The man in black was kicked several meters away by Lin Feng. Seizing the opportunity, Lin Feng closed the distance in a single step and viciously slammed a roundhouse kick into his stomach. The blow sent the man flying back several dozen feet before he finally stopped.

PTUI!

The man in black spat out a mouthful of blood, a sharp pain radiating from his abdomen. He never imagined Lin Feng would still have the strength for a surprise attack. A sense of dread washed over him.

A crazed look appeared in his eyes. There was no time for hesitation. He flung his hands up, and two daggers shot out, aiming straight for Lin Feng's throat and chest!

THUD!

Two muffled thuds sounded out. Both sharp, cold blades were embedded in the ground right beside his chest. The sight made the black-clad man's eyes light up for a moment, only to dim again.

Lin Feng hadn't dodged that last attack, yet he hadn't even frowned.

He had simply knocked the two daggers off their course. One could only imagine how terrifyingly strong Lin Feng's physical body was.

But he didn't give up. He dashed forward two steps, yanked the daggers from the ground, and once again hurled them viciously at Lin Feng.

SWISH!

The daggers sliced through the air, heading straight for Lin Feng's neck. The man's coordination was superb; if it were an expert at the early stage of an Innate Martial Artist, they would have definitely fallen for it.

But Lin Feng just shook his head. He abruptly leaned back, dropping his whole body low to the ground. Then he pushed up with his hands, suspending his entire body in the air as the two daggers scraped past him and struck the trees behind him.

CRACK!

Two ancient trees as thick as bowls were sheared in half. Meanwhile, Lin Feng's body continued to slide forward, covering four or five meters in the blink of an eye to appear before the man in black.

This incredibly sudden scene startled the man in black. Lin Feng's reaction time had far exceeded his expectations.

He hadn't expected Lin Feng to handle the situation so calmly and composedly despite being at such a disadvantage. His strength was anything but ordinary.

WHOOSH!

In that fleeting instant, a cold gleam of light suddenly appeared, slashing toward the man in black with a piercing wind.

The man in black was horrified. He quickly raised the dagger in his left hand to block.

CLANG!

After the crisp sound of metal on metal, the black-clad man felt immense force travel up his left arm. The impact left his entire body numb, his wrist trembled, and the dagger nearly flew from his grasp. His face instantly turned deathly pale.

Lin Feng had put his all into that strike. He was truly furious now. He despised these people blinded by greed, so he decided to make an example of this one. He would show no mercy with this attack.

Struck in the chest by this heavy blow, the man in black staggered back several steps, nearly falling to the ground.
