The Master and His Wealthy Fiancée

If she had the chance, Murong Qing would have killed Murong Xi without a second thought. But seeing Murong Xi in her current state, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

Her entire body was controlled by Gu Insects, with only a sliver of consciousness remaining. Moreover, her lower abdomen was slightly swollen, as if she were incubating something.

"You're finally just like me! No longer the enviable young lady of the Murong Family. The filth here will contaminate your beautiful body. You'll soak in this viscous, acidic fluid all day, birthing batch after batch of those disgusting monsters..."

Murong Xi muttered incessantly, but she suddenly sensed that the Gu she had planted in Murong Qing's body had vanished. Her consciousness cleared.

Her eyes widened as she exclaimed, "You... you didn't go through the ritual? How did you get here?!"

Perhaps only then did she notice Chen Dong. She pointed at him in terror and said, "You're not a Gu, either! How could you have made it this far?!"

Chen Dong asked, puzzled, "Gu? Are you saying those 'aberrations' are all Gu?"

Murong Xi didn't seem to have fully regained her senses. She was a neurotic mess, laughing one moment and terrified the next. "Murong Qing, you're finished! Haha! You're dead! You skipped the ritual, so you'll be punished by the Gu God!"

Chen Dong was about to ask another question when a bloodcurdling scream caught his attention. In one of the pools, a woman's belly was as swollen as if she were full-term. She writhed with great effort, the scream tearing from her throat.

AAAAHHHHH!

After a final, high-pitched shriek, the woman gave birth to nine monsters that were part insect, part human.

These monsters were born with their eerie green eyes already open. Some had antennae, others had black legs. They thirstily drank the viscous, acidic fluid, and the woman fought with them for it.

In just a short while, the small pool was drunk dry. The monsters had also grown a full size in that brief time.

Watching this scene, Chen Dong felt a stifling weight in his chest. He clearly understood that these things could no longer be called human. They were merely the offspring of Gu, birthed using a woman's body.

He wanted to obliterate these monsters on the spot, but he didn't act rashly. He could sense that there were many more deeper inside the cavern.

After drinking the acid, the nine monsters crawled toward the depths of the cavern, and the woman crawled along behind them.

Chen Dong knew this acidic fluid could help a Martial Artist's cultivation, but he wouldn't deign to collect such disgusting stuff.

Murong Qing covered her mouth, clearly nauseated. After seeing this, she didn't hesitate for a second. Channeling her True Qi, she manifested an Ice Sword and plunged it straight through the heart of the still-cackling Murong Xi.

As death approached, clarity finally returned to Murong Xi's eyes.

She spoke with difficulty, "I... I can't resist the Gu's commands. Every single one of them can order me... The Wu Family... it's Hell now..."

A mouthful of blood spilled from her lips. As her gaze faded, Murong Xi said, "Thank you..."

Murong Qing was overcome. Her True Qi erupted from her body, instantly flash-freezing the entire stone chamber. The temperature dropped so low that even Chen Dong felt a chill. Not a single woman in the pools was left alive!

Clutching the Ice Sword, Murong Qing kept her head bowed, her expression hidden. Chen Dong stood quietly by her side.

After a long while, a cold wind gusted through, seeming to tell the tragic story of these women. It lifted the hair from Murong Qing's forehead, revealing her determined, reddened eyes.

She took a deep breath and said coldly, "Chen Dong, let's go. Let's raze this hell on earth!"

Chen Dong chuckled softly. "As you command, my lady."

The nine monsters, now the size of three-year-old children, crawled through the tunnel until they reached the deepest part of the cavern. The green glow was even stronger here. The space was immense, and the walls, ceiling, and floor of the entire chamber were coated in the viscous, green acidic fluid.

The monsters acted as if they'd arrived at a playground. Their green eyes shone brightly as they quickly rolled around in the acid, sucking it up.

Murong Qing, following behind the monsters, gasped. Her large, bright eyes were filled with disbelief. There were tens of thousands, perhaps even hundreds of thousands, of such monsters in the cavern!

They weren't just drinking the acid; many were fighting amongst themselves. The victors would devour the bodies of the losers until nothing remained.

And these small Gu all wore the same strange, sickening smiles.

Chen Dong's voice sounded softly beside Murong Qing. He remarked, "So they really are Gu. Their growth is rapid. The ones that manage to mature must have devoured countless of their own kind."

From the distant rock wall opposite them, a scornful voice echoed, "You're right. These Gu only need a year to reach maturity, and they must fight their way out from among at least ten thousand of their own kind. But a single human female can only produce nine Gu eggs in two days. Such a rate of reproduction is simply too slow!"

Chen Dong roared, "Why are you doing all this?!"

HAHAHAHAHA! The voice laughed maniacally. "Why? To cultivate the perfect Gu, of course! But you don't seem surprised at all. Could it be you already know who I am?"

Lightning already crackled around Chen Dong as he shouted coldly, "You're just a puppet being controlled by the Gu! Isn't that right, Patriarch of the Wu Family, Wu Tianchong!"
