Chen Dong focused intently, circulating his True Qi to lock onto the two Gu Insects inside Murong Qing's body. He pulled them out through the wound she had inflicted on herself. They were two finger-sized centipedes that looked incredibly vicious.

Chen Dong didn't kill the Gu Insects while they were still inside Murong Qing's body because the centipedes were quite poisonous, and he was afraid of harming her.

No matter how vicious the centipedes were, in Chen Dong's hands, they were merely bugs. With a condensation of his True Qi, the two insects instantly exploded. He didn't even have to touch them before flicking their remains next to a nearby corpse.

Twenty Silver Needles pierced into the acupoints all over Murong Qing's body. With the strength of his True Qi at the Inner Scenery realm, he easily dispelled the Secret Technique within her.

Withdrawing the Silver Needles, Chen Dong used the life force from his lightning to repair the wound on Murong Qing's abdomen. "How could you be so foolish? I forbid you from doing this ever again. No matter the circumstances, your life is the most important thing!"

Murong Qing felt her True Qi become usable once more. Gazing tenderly at Chen Dong, she giggled and said, "Do you know what you look like right now?"

Chen Dong was confused and asked, "What?"

"Hee hee! Like a total simp!"

Chen Dong's expression darkened. 'How am I a simp?!'

Fortunately, the wound on Murong Qing's abdomen wasn't large, and the healing effect of the lightning life force Chen Dong had mastered was exceptionally good on physical bodies. It was fully healed in a moment, not even leaving a scar.

The huge commotion also startled the other women present. Some stood frozen on the spot, some hugged their heads and wept bitterly, some shrieked hysterically, and still others glared at Chen Dong, their eyes full of hatred.

Another woman, her face twisted in a ferocious snarl, roared, "This was my chance to advance! I'll kill you!" With that, she charged at Chen Dong.

Murong Qing recognized these two women as the ones at the very front of the line. Their True Qi hadn't been suppressed, and from the look of their skills, they were only at the True Qi Realm.

Naturally, the True Qi Realm posed no threat to Chen Dong. He easily knocked them unconscious. Still, Chen Dong held back. In his eyes, all these women were victims—it was just that these two had been willing victims.

A cacophony of footsteps echoed from the tunnel, and dozens of bare-chested, masked men rushed in. Their bodies all showed varying degrees of mutation.

They barked coldly at Chen Dong, "Who are you?"

"Disrupt the ritual, and the Gu God will punish you!"

"Let's take him down and beg the Gu God for forgiveness!"

The 'abnormals' wore masks, hiding their expressions, but the corners of their mouths revealed their terror as they resentfully summoned their Protective Celestial Spirits.

The pair headed deeper into the cave. Without the light of lanterns, it was utterly pitch-black. After walking for a short while, a stone hall shimmering with an eerie green, fluorescent light appeared before them.

Upon entering the stone hall, they saw pool after pool filled with a viscous green liquid. The fluorescent light in the hall emanated from this very substance. The pools were mostly circular and about the size of bathtubs. In nearly every one, a woman with a swollen belly was soaking, her eyes closed as if in a deep sleep. Their clothes were identical to what Murong Qing was currently wearing.

'Is the next stage of the ritual here?' This terrified Murong Qing.

Among the many pools, one woman's attire was particularly conspicuous: a torn top and a hip-hugging miniskirt.

Murong Qing looked over and cried out in surprise, "Murong Xi!"

Murong Xi, her eyes closed, seemed to sense someone calling her name. She listlessly opened her eyes, and as her dazed vision cleared on the figures before her, she gave a vacant smile. "Murong Qing, so you're finally here too!"
