Chapter 140: 140: THE RETURN BECOMES PERMANENT
---------------------------------
The next morning felt great and full of bright promise, and the golden sun poured a warm light through the large bedroom window of William's cozy home.
William woke up from a deep and peaceful sleep, and he felt very good about the lovely fun he had at home and the beach the previous day. Spending quality time with his best friends, Adam and Stone, gave him true peace of mind, so he started the new day with a strong determination for getting his perfect form and stepping back on the green pitch.
He stretched his strong arms above his head and smiled at the ceiling, because the long and stressful transfer window had finally closed late last night.
All the confusing rumors were officially over, and William found himself safely in his beloved team, which is not Chelsea. He was proud to wear the Blackpool badge and represent the coastal city, but even though he was happy to be at his true home, he felt a little bit unhappy deep inside his heart.
He felt this slightly sad emotion because Chelsea stylishly pushed him out totally without giving him a fair chance to shine in their main squad. The big London club treated him like a forgotten shadow despite his hard work, and he wanted to prove to them that losing him was a great loss for their future.
He sat on the edge of his bed and made a silent promise to himself, and he swore that anytime he faced them in competitive matches, he would play with everything he had in his body.
He wanted to win those specific games and also stand out as the absolute best player in the match. William wanted to show his old club exactly what they threw away, so he was looking forward to doing that in the near future.
This strong desire to prove his worth burned like a bright fire inside his chest, and it gave him extra energy to start his busy morning routine with a clear focus. He knew that the only way to silence his doubters was to work harder than anyone else on the training ground, and he was ready to embrace the challenge.
He got out of his comfortable bed and prepared for his morning training by packing his football kits and his clean training shorts into his small sports bag. He folded his clothes with great care, and he made sure he had his special boots and a fresh towel ready for the hard work ahead.
After packing his necessary gear and zipping up his black bag, he took a warm shower and dressed very nicely for the important day. He wore a smart white shirt and a pair of fitted black trousers, and he paired them with clean white sneakers that made him look like a true professional athlete.
He wanted to look his absolute best as he headed to the famous Squires Gate Training Center, because today marked a massive milestone in his young football career.
He ate a quick and healthy breakfast in his kitchen, and then he walked outside his quiet house to find a ride. He stood by the calm street and entered a yellow taxi that took him straight to the busy training camp.
While he sat in the back of the moving taxi and looked out the window, he watched the familiar streets pass by and planned his next big move. He planned to get his first car with his first massive payment in the week, so he could reduce the high cost of daily transportation.
Taking a taxi every single morning was becoming quite expensive for him, and he remembered the helpful driving lessons he got from his kind neighbor a few years ago.
He knew he was fully ready to drive himself safely, and buying a nice car would make his daily trips to the training base much easier and faster. He smiled as he pictured himself driving a beautiful, fast sports car with the cool wind blowing through the open windows, and this happy thought made the long taxi ride feel very short and pleasant.
He felt a wonderful sense of freedom knowing he was finally taking control of his own life, and he could not wait to earn his first big paycheck so he could visit the local car dealership.
When he finally got to the training base, the friendly driver stopped the car right in front of the massive iron gates of the Squires Gate Training Center.
William paid the fair transport fare and stepped out of the clean vehicle, and he was immediately greeted by a massive crowd of sports journalists and excited fans. He grabbed his sports bag and walked past the busy media members who were taking loud pictures of him from every direction.
The bright camera flashes lit up the cool morning air, and the eager reporters called out his name to get a good shot for the local sports newspapers. William kept a bright smile on his face, and he raised his hand to wave at them in a very polite and friendly manner.
He felt a huge wave of pride wash over his young heart, because this was his first official training as a permanent player with Blackpool. He was no longer a temporary loan player who could be sent away at any moment, and this permanent status gave him a wonderful sense of belonging and peace.
He stopped for a few seconds to let the happy photographers take their perfect pictures, and he felt truly grateful for the warm welcome he received from the local media.
After sharing that brief and joyful moment with the flashing cameras, he turned around and walked through the heavy glass doors of the main building. The inside of the Squires Gate Training Center was quiet and peaceful, and the long hallways smelled like fresh paint and clean floor polish.
William walked down the familiar corridor with a confident step, and he greeted the few staff members he passed along the way.
Everyone smiled brightly and congratulated him on his permanent contract, and their kind words made him feel even more motivated to train hard and win matches for the club.
He felt like he was walking through the halls of his own house, and he loved the friendly atmosphere that surrounded him.
He went straight to the players' changing room at the end of the hall, and he expected the large room to be completely empty at this early hour. He always loved arriving before anyone else so he could enjoy the quiet space and prepare his mind for the heavy tactical drills.
He pushed the heavy wooden door open and walked inside the bright room, and he thought he was the first to arrive for the morning session. The spacious room was lined with shiny wooden lockers and comfortable padded benches, and his own name was proudly printed above his designated space.
However, as he walked deeper into the changing room and looked around, he realized that he was not alone after all. There was a new boy sitting quietly on the wooden bench in the far corner, and the young stranger was already tying the laces of his colorful football boots.
William remembered Coach Lincoln mentioning that they signed another defensive midfielder during the busy transfer window, and he quickly realized this must be the new player.
The new boy looked up when he heard the door close, and he offered William a slightly nervous but friendly smile. William walked over to his own locker and dropped his bag on the floor, and he decided to break the ice and make the new teammate feel welcome in the club.
"Good morning to you, you must be the new signing our manager told me about during my private meeting,"
William said with a warm smile, and he reached out his right hand for a friendly shake. The new boy stood up tall and shook William's hand firmly, and he looked very relieved to meet someone so welcoming on his very first day at the camp.
"Yes, I am the new defensive midfielder, and I just joined the team this week. I wanted to come early to get a good feel of the place before the older, experienced players arrive," the new boy replied in a polite and calm voice.
William nodded his head in perfect understanding, because he knew exactly how scary and exciting the first day at a new football club could be for a young talent.
He told the new boy his own name and be also said his name is Eric. William explained that Blackpool was a great family that protected its players, and he promised to help him settle down and learn the basic rules of the dressing room.
They sat together on the soft benches and started talking about their favorite football moments, and William felt very happy to start his new journey by helping a fellow teammate feel right at home. The changing room was no longer a lonely place, and William knew this season was going to be a fantastic adventure.
