Chapter 108: Ch 108- Beast Tide (2)
The four men stared at the huge projection screen in front of them.
The screen displayed the entire territory surrounding Cang Lan Base. Countless red dots were moving across the map, each representing a group of beasts. There were millions of them and they were moving toward the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bases under Cang Lan Base’s jurisdiction.
The atmosphere inside the room became extremely heavy.
The man who looked to be in his thirties finally broke the silence.
"What is going on? Why would the beasts suddenly launch an attack? We had an agreement with the Flood Dragon before this."
His voice was calm but there was a trace of doubt in his eyes.
His name was David.
He was the Sovereign Realm cultivator from the Human Federation stationed at Cang Lan Base. His cultivation had already reached the Late Sovereign Realm.
With his strength, he was one of the strongest cultivators in the entire Cang Lan Base.
An old man sitting opposite him slowly shook his head.
"We don’t know the reason. I gathered everyone here as soon as I received the information from our spies stationed near the Inner Area of Cang Wilderness."
His expression was solemn.
"According to the latest report, millions of beasts have gathered and they have already begun marching toward the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bases."
He paused for a moment before continuing.
"And that’s not all."
The old man’s eyes became serious.
"For the Tier 3 bases, there are ten Peak Realm beasts and thousands of High Realm beasts leading the beast tides. As for the Tier 4 bases, each one has at least one Peak Realm beast and a hundred High Realm beasts."
"And below them are countless beasts of lower realms."
David’s expression changed slightly.
The old man speaking was Mu Yang, the only Sovereign Realm cultivator of the Mu Family. His cultivation had reached the Mid Stage of Sovereign Realm.
Before this meeting, none of them had expected the beasts to suddenly launch such a massive attack.
Another old man spoke.
"What should we do? At this rate, the beast tides will reach the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bases by early morning."
This man was Bai Chuan, the patriarch of the Bai Family and their only Sovereign Realm cultivator. His cultivation had also reached the Mid stage of Sovereign Realm.
The situation was extremely dangerous.
Although Tier 3 bases were much stronger than Tier 4 bases, they were still unable to easily deal with ten Peak Realm beasts at the same time and the Tier 4 bases were even worse situation
Most of them did not have Origin Lord Realm cultivators stationed there permanently. Facing a Peak Realm beast would already be a disaster, let alone an army of beasts following behind it.
The remaining old man finally spoke.
"Then issue the conscription order."
His voice was calm but an invisible Sword Intent surrounded his body.
"Anyone who has reached the Origin Vessel Realm or above should immediately gather."
He looked toward the projection screen.
"Form teams and send them to the various bases. Each team sent to a Tier 3 base must have at least five Origin Lord Realm cultivators."
His eyes became cold.
"For the Tier 4 bases, each team must have at least one Origin Lord Realm cultivator."
The old man’s name was Qin Jiang.
Among the three great families, he was the only one besides David to have reached the Late stage of Sovereign Realm.
Although his aura was restrained, anyone standing near him could clearly sense the terrifying Sword Intent surrounding his body.
Mu Yang frowned.
"We don’t even know if we have enough Origin Lord Realm cultivators to send to every base."
Qin Jiang looked at him.
"Then gather as many as we can."
He pointed toward the projection.
"We only have half an hour. Every team must depart for their assigned base within that time."
His voice carried authority.
"Tell them to minimize casualties as much as possible. They don’t need to completely wipe out the beast tide. Their first priority is to protect the people and prevent the bases from being destroyed."
Everyone nodded.
Then Qin Jiang looked toward David.
"As for you, David, you should go and meet the Flood Dragon."
David’s expression became slightly serious.
Qin Jiang continued.
"Since you represent the Human Federation, the Flood Dragon shouldn’t dare to kill you. Ask him directly why they suddenly launched this beast tide."
He paused.
"And find out what he wants."
David fell silent for a moment.
The Flood Dragon was not an ordinary Sovereign Realm beast. He was the strongest existence in Cang Wilderness and his strength was already close to the Peak Sovereign Realm.
Even David did not want to provoke him without a reason.
However, this matter had already become too serious.
After thinking for a few seconds, David nodded.
"Yes. I’ll go."
Bai Chuan suddenly slammed his fist onto the table.
Bang!
The entire table shook slightly.
"These beasts... they really won’t let us have peace."
His expression was ugly.
For years, the Human Federation and the beasts had maintained a fragile balance. Neither side wanted a true war because the consequences would be too severe but now, millions of beasts were marching toward human bases.
If this continued, countless humans would die.
Mu Yang stood up.
"Let’s move."
The others also stood.
There was no more time to discuss.
They quickly left the top floor of the Cultivation Tower and began giving orders throughout Cang Lan Base.
The conscription order was immediately transmitted to every organization.
For a moment, the entire Cang Lan Base began to move.
Cultivators flew into the sky one after another, vehicles rushed through the streets and teams were quickly assembled.
Everyone understood that tonight would not be peaceful.
As for Mo Yuan, he was still cultivating inside his cultivation chamber. He had been completely focused on tempering his meridians and had not paid much attention to the outside world.
However, after hearing the increasing noise coming from outside, he finally opened his eyes.
"What is happening?"
Mo Yuan stood up and walked out of his room.
The moment he stepped outside, he saw Mo Ran and Kitty had also been awakened by the commotion.
Mo Ran immediately rushed toward him and hugged him tightly. There was a trace of fear in her eyes.
"Brother, what is happening? There are people everywhere outside and they all have their weapons ready. Did the beasts attack the base?"
Hearing this, Mo Yuan’s eyes narrowed, he then spread his Origin Sense and got to know the basic situation outside.
Mo Yuan gently patted Mo Ran’s head and gave her a reassuring smile.
"Don’t worry. Everything is fine."
Then he looked at Kitty.
"Kitty, take care of Mo Ran. I’ll be back in a minute."
As soon as he finished speaking, Mo Yuan’s figure disappeared from the villa.
Mo Ran stared at the place where he had disappeared. She knew her brother was going to find out what was happening outside.
She clenched her fists and softly muttered,
"Brother... be safe."
Kitty immediately jumped onto her shoulder and licked her face, as if trying to comfort her.
Mo Ran hugged Kitty tightly.
