Mo Yuan came outside and looked at the situation ahead of him. The usually peaceful roads of Cang Lan Base were now filled with people and vehicles. Cultivators were rushing toward the main gate, while others were gathering in groups and discussing the sudden conscription order.
"I’m just a weak Origin Vessel Realm cultivator. Why do I need to go?" a young man complained nervously.
The man beside him immediately replied, "It’s not up to you to decide. Since the Federation has issued a conscription order, there must be a massive beast tide."
The young man’s expression became ugly.
"I don’t want to die."
Similar conversations were happening everywhere.
Origin Vessel Realm cultivators, Origin Core Realm cultivators, Origin Sea Realm cultivators and even Origin Soul Realm cultivators could be seen throughout the streets.
For the first time in his life, Mo Yuan saw so many cultivators gathered in one place.
His expression slowly became solemn.
’Beast tide?’
’Why would it happen so suddenly?’
Mo Yuan had spent almost two months in the wilderness but he had never heard anything about a large-scale beast tide. Even when he was deep inside Cang Wilderness, everything had seemed normal.
Something was definitely wrong.
Without wasting any more time, Mo Yuan disappeared from his position.
A moment later, his figure appeared near the entrance of the Mu Family’s property.
The Mu Family’s residence was enormous. The walls surrounding the manor were several meters high and powerful formation covered the entire property. Even without activating his Origin Sense, Mo Yuan could feel the faint pressure coming from the formation.
Two guards stood at the entrance and both of them were Origin Soul Realm cultivators.
The moment they noticed Mo Yuan, one of them stepped forward.
"This is Mu Family property. If you don’t have an invitation, please leave."
Mo Yuan didn’t argue. Instead, he took out a card and handed it over.
It was the card Mu Qingying had given him.
Before leaving last time, Mu Qingying had already told him that he might need it if he came to the Mu Family without an appointment.
The guard looked at the card.
His expression immediately changed and he became much more respectful and carefully returned it to Mo Yuan.
"Please wait a moment. We will confirm whether Miss Qingying is awake."
The guard quickly entered the manor.
Mo Yuan waited outside and about five minutes later, the guard returned.
He immediately bowed slightly.
"Sir, I’m sorry for the delay, Miss Qingying has asked you to come inside."
Mo Yuan nodded and followed him through the gate.
The moment he entered the manor, he immediately noticed the strange atmosphere.
Mu Qingying was sitting in the living room.
She was not alone.
Another young woman was sitting beside her. She appeared to be around Mo Yuan’s age and had an ordinary-looking appearance. However, what immediately caught his attention was the strange creature wrapped around her arm.
It was a snake but it had two heads.
The two snake heads quietly stared at Mo Yuan with cold eyes, their tongues occasionally flicking out.
Mo Yuan narrowed his eyes slightly.
’A two-headed snake?’
He had never seen such a beast before.
The atmosphere inside the living room was completely different from their previous meeting. Mu Qingying’s expression was serious and even the other woman’s face carried a solemn look.
Clearly, the sudden beast tide was not a small matter.
As soon as Mu Qingying saw Mo Yuan enter, she looked toward him.
"Come, Mo Yuan."
Mo Yuan walked over and sat down on the chair then he glanced at Mu Qingying before asking directly,
"What exactly is happening?"
Mu Qingying’s expression became even more serious.
"The beasts have launched a massive beast tide."
She paused.
"And this time, they aren’t attacking Cang Lan Base directly instead they are targeting the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bases that come under Cang Lan Base jurisdiction"
At the same time, Mo Yuan quietly activated his Copy and Paste Talent.
Soon, an information panel appeared in front of him.

Cultivation Talent: Ultimate Grade
Beast Tamer Talent: Ultimate Grade
Mo Yuan’s eyes immediately lit up when he saw the panel.

’I should copy both of them.’

The moment Mo Yuan saw the first talent, his pupils shrank.

This was the first time he had ever seen an Exceptional Grade Talent and that wasn’t even all.
The Moon Scale Serpent also possessed a Peak Grade Gigantification Talent and a Superior Grade Poison Talent.

As far as he knew, beasts simply devoured other beasts and relied on their powerful bloodlines and bodies to grow stronger.
He had no intention of suddenly turning himself into a strange half-beast.

He then looked toward Mu Qingying and asked
"Why would the beasts suddenly attack the other bases and why aren’t they attacking Cang Lan Base directly?"
Mu Qingying shook her head.
"We don’t know the exact reason for the sudden beast tide. However, we do know why they aren’t targeting Cang Lan Base directly."
"Oh? What’s the reason?" Mo Yuan asked.
Mu Qingying’s expression became ugly.
"They want to extort more Primordial Qi Stones from us."
Mo Yuan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Mu Qingying continued explaining.
"Just like the previous beast tide a few months ago, humans were in the wrong at that time. Some people recklessly attacked the beasts and to restore peace, Cang Lan Base had to compensate them with Primordial Qi Stones."
"This time, the situation is different but the goal is probably the same."
She looked toward the projection displaying the beast tide.
"The beasts know that the Holy Base and the Tier 1 bases are occupied with their own matters and cannot easily send reinforcements. They are using this opportunity to attack the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bases under Cang Lan Base."
"If those bases are destroyed one after another, Cang Lan Base will eventually be forced to compromise."
Mo Yuan remained silent.
"We don’t know exactly what the Flood Dragon wants yet," Mu Qingying said "But we can be certain that he wants more Primordial Qi Stones from us."
"The Human Federation’s Sovereign Realm cultivator stationed here has already left for the Forbidden Area."
"He went there to meet the Flood Dragon and ask him what exactly he wants."
"Flood Dragon..."
Mo Yuan’s expression became serious.
