Chapter 106: Ch 106- Flood Dragon
The giant mouse took a deep breath before speaking.
"A few hours ago, we sensed a massive disturbance coming from the Inner Area. When we reached the place, we discovered that the land within a hundred kilometers had been destroyed."
The old man’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"A hundred kilometers?"
"Yes." The mouse nodded. "There were enormous craters everywhere and the entire ecosystem in that region was destroyed. Almost every living thing was either killed or forced to flee."
"Oh?"
A trace of surprise finally appeared on the old man’s face.
The mouse continued, "We investigated the area carefully. We don’t know whether it was a battle between humans or if a human deliberately attacked the beasts in our territory but we are certain of one thing."
"It was caused by a single saber strike."
The atmosphere inside the manor instantly became heavier.
"And the person who released that attack is definitely a Sovereign Realm cultivator. As for the exact stage, we cannot determine it."
The golden bull’s expression immediately became ugly.
Bang!
Its massive fist slammed onto the table.
"These humans are becoming more and more arrogant!"
Its voice shook the entire hall.
"Not only that, my subordinates have also noticed something strange. For the past month, someone has been hunting throughout the Inner Area. Many High-level and Peak-level beasts in several regions have already been killed!"
The golden bull’s eyes were filled with anger.
"These pathetic humans are provoking us! We should teach them a lesson!"
The other Sovereign beasts remained silent.
They clearly agreed with the golden bull but none of them spoke.
The old man sitting in the main seat suddenly lowered his eyes.
"Mass killing of beasts in my territory..."
His voice was extremely calm but the next moment, a terrifying pressure suddenly exploded from his body.
Boom!
The entire manor trembled.
The eight Sovereign beasts felt their bodies becoming heavy. Their pupils shrank and even their breathing became difficult.
None of them dared to make a sound.
The old man’s eyes became extremely cold.
He had ruled the Cang Wilderness for countless years. Although humans and beasts had always fought, there was an unspoken boundary between them but now, someone had killed countless beasts inside his territory.
This was no longer ordinary hunting.
It was a provocation.
After a moment, the old man looked toward the three-eyed raven.
"What do you think we should do?"
The three-eyed raven remained silent for several seconds before opening its three eyes.
"There are eighteen Tier 3 bases and forty-three Tier 4 bases surrounding Cang Lan Base."
"If we want revenge, we don’t need to attack Cang Lan Base directly."
"We can simply unleash beast tides toward those smaller bases and destroy them one by one."
"The Cang Lan Base will certainly become furious. However, according to the current situation of the Holy Base and the Tier 1 bases, their strongest forces are already occupied with other matters."
"They cannot afford to casually send a Monarch Realm cultivator here."
The raven paused.
"As long as we don’t go too far and directly attack Cang Lan Base, they won’t have a reason to risk everything against us."
"We only need to focus on the Tier 3 and Tier 4 bases. Eventually, Cang Lan Base will be forced to surrender."
The old man’s eyes slowly lit up.
"Not bad."
A sinister grin appeared on his face.
"Then let the destruction begin."
"Hahahahaha!"
His laughter echoed throughout the manor.
The next moment, his figure disappeared from the main seat.
Silence.
For several seconds, none of the remaining Sovereign beasts spoke.
Finally, the crimson-scaled serpent slowly opened its eyes. A sharp hiss escaped from its mouth before its cold voice sounded.
"That pressure..."
It paused for a moment.
"Has he reached that realm?"
The atmosphere instantly became solemn and the expressions of every Sovereign beast changed.
None of them answered but their silence was already an answer.
At the same time, Mo Yuan was still sleeping peacefully, completely unaware of the damage his saber strike had caused in the wilderness.
He had no idea that his attack had attracted the attention of the Sovereign beasts or that his actions had even caused them to start planning something against humanity.
For now, none of that mattered to him.
Mo Yuan was simply sleeping on his sofa.
Soon, evening arrived.
The door of the house opened and Mo Ran walked inside with Kitty sitting on her shoulder. She immediately noticed Mo Yuan sleeping on the sofa.
She looked at him for a moment before quietly walking past him.
"Brother must be tired."
Mo Ran didn’t wake him up. She placed her things down and went into the kitchen.
Three hours later, Mo Yuan finally opened his eyes.
He rubbed his eyes and slowly sat up.
"Hmm?"
A delicious smell suddenly entered his nose.
Mo Yuan’s sleepy expression instantly disappeared.
He turned his head toward the kitchen and saw Mo Ran preparing food. Kitty was sitting comfortably on her shoulder, watching her cook.
"Food..."
Mo Yuan’s stomach growled.
Mo Ran noticed that he had woken up and smiled.
"Morning, brother."
Mo Yuan looked outside the window.
It was already dark.
"What morning? It’s already night."
"Haha, I know. I was just joking."
Mo Ran giggled.
At that moment, Kitty suddenly jumped down from Mo Ran’s shoulder.
Whoosh!
The little cat quickly ran toward Mo Yuan before jumping directly onto his shoulder.
"Meow!"
Kitty happily rubbed her head against his face before licking him several times.
Mo Yuan laughed.
"You still haven’t changed."
Kitty’s cultivation had also improved during the two months he was away.
She was still in the Advanced Beast Realm but she had already reached the Middle Stage.
Mo Yuan sensed her cultivation and nodded with satisfaction.
"Not bad. Looks like you weren’t slacking while I was gone."
"Meow!"
Kitty raised her little head proudly.
She looked as if she was saying that she had been cultivating very hard.
Mo Yuan couldn’t help smiling.
"Alright, alright. I know you’re amazing."
He gently stroked her soft fur. Then Mo Yuan took out several High-level beast corpses from his storage space.
"Here. These should be enough for you to cultivate for a while."
Kitty’s eyes immediately lit up.
The beast corpses disappeared as she stored them inside her own storage space.
"Meow!"
She looked extremely happy.
Mo Yuan shook his head with a smile.
"You’re really just like a little glutton."
Soon, Mo Ran finished cooking.
The three of them sat around the table and began eating together.
After eating, Mo Ran stood up and stretched.
"Goodnight, brother. I still have to go to the academy tomorrow."
"Good night."
Mo Ran returned to her room and soon went to sleep.
Mo Yuan also stood up and walked toward his cultivation room. After entering, he closed the door and sat down cross-legged.
His expression gradually became serious.
Although he had returned home to rest, he had no intention of wasting too much time.
The Federation Tournament was approaching and after the tournament, the secret realm would open.
"It’s time to cultivate."
He slowly closed his eyes.
Primordial Qi began gathering around him.
The peaceful night continued but outside Cang Lan Base, the wilderness was no longer as peaceful as before.
