Chapter 200: Ch 200- Absurdity
April 2, 3027. The next day.
Mo Yuan was still practicing Boundless Saber Art inside his cultivation chamber.
Ever since he had started, he had not stopped swinging his saber. His movements had become so natural that each slash followed the previous one without the slightest pause.
The blade flashed through the air, growing faster and faster until it was almost impossible to follow with the naked eye.
A faint wind began to circulate around him, stirred by the constant movement of his saber.
However, there was nothing particularly impressive about it. To an outsider, it would look like an ordinary cultivator practicing his saber technique.
Yet Mo Yuan was experiencing something completely different.
He had become so immersed in his movements that he had forgotten everything around him.
His mind was completely focused on the saber in his hand and every slash seemed to come naturally. He no longer needed to think about how to move his arm or how to direct the blade.
His body simply followed the feeling.
Unknowingly, Mo Yuan had entered a state of enlightenment.
Suddenly, he felt the invisible barrier that had stopped his progress for so long begin to crumble.
His saber moved faster, then even more faster.
The sound of the blade cutting through the air grew sharper and the faint wind inside the chamber began to strengthen. His movements became increasingly smooth, as if every slash was connected to the next by an invisible thread.
At that moment, Mo Yuan felt as though he had finally grasped the true essence of Boundless Saber Art.
It was not merely about swinging his saber faster. Every movement had to be perfectly connected, with no wasted motion and no unnecessary delay.
Rather than forcing speed into each slash, he had to make every slash the natural continuation of the previous one.
When he understood this, something inside him clicked.
His saber flashed once more.
For a brief moment, the blade seemed to disappear completely, leaving behind only a faint line in the air.
Then everything returned to normal.
Mo Yuan slowly opened his eyes and finally emerged from his trance.
He looked at the saber in his hand, recalling what had just happened.
’Was that enlightenment? The novels I read in my previous life described it something like this.’
He shook his head, unable to hide his excitement.
Regardless of what that state was called, he had clearly made a breakthrough.
Mo Yuan immediately checked the changes to his Boundless Saber Art and felt his eyes widen.
The multiplier had increased from 9 times to 27 times!
"What the fuck?! Twenty-seven times?"
Mo Yuan nearly jumped out of his location.
He had received one shock after another since reaching the Origin Lord Realm but this was on another level.
"Fuck! Just how much has my strength increased now?"
He immediately began calculating.
His base strength was 81 million jin. With his Ultimate Grade Strength Talent providing a 25 times multiplier, Boundless Saber Art providing a 27 times multiplier and his Primordial Qi and Blood Saber Intent each doubling his strength, the calculation became:
81,000,000 × 25 × 27 × 2 × 2.
The answer appeared in his mind almost instantly.
Mo Yuan’s expression froze.
"218.7 billion jin..."
His voice trembled slightly.
"Fucking hell! That’s nearly 220 billion jin!"
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart.
Just how strong was he now?
A Peak Sovereign Realm cultivator had an average base strength of around 10 billion jin. With a three times Primordial Qi enhancement, that became 30 billion jin.
Even if such a cultivator possessed a technique that increased their strength by another three times, their total strength would only reach 90 billion jin.
And Mo Yuan could now reach more than twice that amount.
Of course, he knew better than to assume every Sovereign Realm cultivator was ordinary. Some might possess powerful rare talents or techniques far beyond what he had encountered so far.
’What if a Sovereign Realm cultivator also has a Peak Grade Strength Talent that provides a ten times multiplier? I can’t assume that I can defeat everyone just because my strength has increased.’
After calming himself down, another thought suddenly entered his mind.
’If Major Achievement gives me a 27 times multiplier, what about Perfection?’
His heart began beating faster again.
However, before he could explore that thought any further, something unexpected happened.
His Blood Saber Intent suddenly began to stir.
At first, it was only a faint disturbance. Then it grew stronger, surging through his body without warning.
Mo Yuan’s expression changed.
"What is happening...?"
Before he could react, his consciousness was pulled away.
In the next instant, he found himself back inside that strange soul space.
Standing before him was the translucent figure that resembled him. Its body looked almost like a soul, faint and unreal, as if it could disappear at any moment.
Mo Yuan barely had time to wonder why he had returned to this place when the saber formed from Blood Saber Intent in the figure’s hand began to tremble.
A blinding crimson light suddenly erupted from it and the entire soul space was swallowed by that light.
Then Mo Yuan’s consciousness returned to his body.
He had barely opened his eyes when Blood Saber Intent erupted again.
BOOM!
A thick crimson aura burst out of him, spreading across his entire body. It was far more intense than before.
The mist was so dense that it almost resembled real blood, swirling around him like a living creature.
Mo Yuan immediately realized something was wrong.
His thoughts began to grow hazy and a strange force seemed to be taking control of his mind.
’I can’t...’
He desperately tried to regain control but the crimson aura continued growing stronger. If he allowed it to spread any farther, he had no idea what would happen he even tried activating illusion talent but nothing worked.
With the last bit of clarity he could muster, Mo Yuan activated Shadow Walk.
His figure vanished from the cultivation chamber and entered the endless darkness of the Shadow Realm.
A moment later, his consciousness faded.
His body fell into the infinite darkness, surrounded by crimson mist that continued spreading outward.
The mist expanded to a radius of nearly one thousand kilometers. Wherever it passed, the darkness seemed to tremble and the entire region began to vibrate with a strange, low buzzing sound.
Deep within the Shadow Realm, close to its very core, a mysterious being sat in the endless darkness.
It was the same faceless, pitch-black figure that had once fought against the titan nearly one million kilometers tall.
Suddenly, it turned its head toward Mo Yuan’s location.
"A Shadowspawn that has yet to hatch... and Blood Saber Intent."
Its voice echoed through the darkness, carrying a hint of surprise and interest.
"What an unusual combination. Is the Firmament really trying to pull everyone’s leg?"
The being disappeared from its original position.
In the next instant, it appeared beside Mo Yuan.
The crimson mist immediately reacted to its presence. It stopped spreading and retreated from the being, as though it had encountered something it feared.
The mysterious figure looked down at the unconscious Mo Yuan.
"Now, what should we do with you?"
If it had a face, it would probably have been smiling.
"Since you’ve come here and you’re also a Shadowspawn, then you’re my child. I’ll give you a little gift."
A small piece of black mass separated from the being’s body and drifted toward Mo Yuan.
The black circle tattoo on Mo Yuan’s wrist suddenly flashed.
The moment the black mass touched it, the tattoo absorbed it completely.
The being watched the process with interest before letting out a quiet laugh.
"Well then, let’s see how the Firmament handles this."
Its laughter echoed through the endless darkness.
"Hahahaha!"
Then the mysterious being disappeared, leaving no trace of its presence behind.
Meanwhile, Mo Yuan remained unconscious in the darkness of the Shadow Realm, completely unaware of what had just happened to him.
Nor did he know that something had quietly changed within him.
