The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 69: Chen Feng's Choice

Chen Yao's gaze flickered as she reined in the emotions Zhou Fan had stirred up. She fixed her eyes on him, unblinking.

"How did you know about Liu Xueyue? She's been hiding in our conglomerate for a full ten years!"

After their last meeting, Chen Yao had hired someone to investigate Liu Xueyue. The investigation covered her private life and every aspect of her role at the company. She finally discovered that Liu Xueyue had been planted by another family. Her mission was to slowly infiltrate the conglomerate's management and acquire a certain amount of shares.

Furthermore, using her connections and her backer's financial support, Liu Xueyue had been quietly acquiring a large number of company shares. In addition to her own ten percent, she had bought up another twenty-five percent or so, bringing her total to nearly thirty-five percent!

To put that in perspective, even her grandfather, Chen Shilei, only held thirty percent!

At this rate, it wouldn't be long before she acquired all the shares except for those belonging to Chen Yao and Chen Shilei. If Chen Feng truly decided not to side with them when the time came, the Chen Conglomerate would be forced to change its name!

"You don't need to worry about that. I have my ways," Zhou Fan said with a mysterious smile, not offering the answer Chen Yao was looking for.

"Fine. Then, from what you know, how many shares does Liu Xueyue currently hold? My intel says it's thirty-five percent. She's already bought out several of the smaller shareholders. At present, aside from Chen Feng, only two others haven't been bought out!"

Chen Yao didn't press the issue. She took out a list of shareholders and pushed it in front of Zhou Fan. She believed that for him to be so self-assured, his knowledge couldn't be limited to what her own investigation had revealed.

"You're saying these are the two who haven't been bought out, right?"

Zhou Fan took the pen and circled two names.

Fang Qiang, Cao Yong!

Chen Yao's expression shifted slightly. She nodded.

"No point thinking about Cao Yong. He's already been bought out. Right now, only Fang Qiang is still holding on, but I doubt he'll last more than a few days. They're using a honey trap on him—two top-tier, A-list celebrities, both exactly his type."

Zhou Fan said this nonchalantly, as if discussing some trivial matter. Just then, his phone chimed. He took it out, glanced at the screen, and sneered. "Well, that simplifies things. Fang Qiang caved. You're all out of hope."

Even Zhou Fan was surprised by the coincidence. He had just been analyzing Fang Qiang, and the man had already signed.

"Then what about Chen Feng?" Chen Yao's body swayed as she nearly fell from her chair upon hearing that both Fang Qiang and Cao Yong had sold their shares. "Didn't you say he might not side with us? What makes him such a wild card?"

With this, her shares combined with Chen Shilei's would only put them on equal footing with Liu Xueyue. Chen Feng had become the biggest wild card.

"Chen Feng?" Zhou Fan sighed, thinking back on his two interactions with the man and the information he'd gathered. "You should ask your grandfather about that."

"Ask my grandfather?" Chen Yao was bewildered. Just as she was about to press him further, her phone buzzed with a message: an emergency shareholders' meeting was being called. Her face instantly turned ashen. The world began to spin around her, her vision went black, and she slumped to the side.

As if he had anticipated it, Zhou Fan shot out his hand and caught her head. He then pressed a finger lightly against the back of her head, and she came to.

"Thank you," Chen Yao whispered. "Could I ask you to come with me to the shareholders' meeting?"

Her voice was hoarse, as if her spirit had been completely drained in an instant. She was a far cry from the spirited woman he had first met. As for why she invited Zhou Fan, perhaps she was clinging to a sliver of hope—a hope that this man, who knew so much, could still pull off a surprise for her.

"No problem."

Zhou Fan smiled faintly, once again giving the impression that he knew this would happen all along. He stood up, deliberately straightened his clothes, and strode toward the building across the street.

「The Chairman's Office.」

When Zhou Fan accompanied Chen Yao into the room, only three people were seated at the enormous conference table: Chen Shilei, Liu Xueyue, and Chen Feng. However, many others were standing around them—including Ah Lian, there were over twenty people in all.

The three of them were momentarily taken aback to see Chen Yao arrive with someone else. Chen Shilei and Liu Xueyue didn't recognize Zhou Fan, but Chen Feng frowned, an ominous feeling creeping into his heart.

"Since everyone's here, let's begin," Liu Xueyue said softly. She passed a file to her secretary, who then distributed copies to the three members of the Chen family.

"As you can all see, I now hold a forty-five percent stake, making me the conglomerate's largest shareholder. I want to acquire your shares." Liu Xueyue made no attempt to hide her intentions, getting straight to the point.

"Aren't you being a little naive, Vice President Liu?" Chen Shilei retorted. "Even with that, your stake is only equal to mine and Yaoyao's combined. And that's not even counting Feng's ten percent. I am now transferring all of my shares to Yaoyao!"

With a SLAP, Chen Shilei tossed the document aside and produced a share transfer agreement he had already signed.

With this move, both Liu Xueyue and Chen Yao became shareholders holding forty-five percent of the company. The room was instantly locked in a stalemate.

An instant later, all eyes turned to Chen Feng.
