Chapter 70: The Chen Family's Past
Chen Feng's decision would determine the ultimate fate of the Chen Conglomerate!
If he chose Chen Yao, then all the years of effort from Liu Xueyue and the powers behind her would be for naught!

Under everyone's watchful gaze, Chen Feng smiled faintly and extended a hand toward Liu Xueyue!
"I am transferring all my shares to Chen Feng!" Without a moment's hesitation, Liu Xueyue handed all the shares in her possession to Chen Feng, instantly stunning Chen Shilei and Chen Yao!
What was happening?
Was Liu Xueyue one of Chen Feng's people?
But their investigation hadn't shown that!
Chen Yao subconsciously glanced at Zhou Fan, only to find his expression unchanged, as if he had known all along!
"My dear grandfather, please get up. This seat is mine now!" Chen Feng slowly rose, walked to Chen Shilei's side, and placed a hand on the man's shoulder!
"You bastard! What's the meaning of this? Have you no shame before the Chen Family? Before your dead parents?" Chen Shilei's face turned ashen with rage. He whipped his head around, glared at Chen Feng, and started cursing.
SLAP!
But the moment the words left his mouth, Chen Feng slapped him, sending Chen Shilei sprawling to the floor!
"Old man, you have the gall to mention my parents? If it weren't for you, would they be dead?" Chen Feng planted a foot on Chen Shilei's chest, his face contorted in a ferocious snarl as he roared.
"Chen Feng, have you lost your mind? Let go of Grandpa!" Chen Yao cried out anxiously. She rushed over, hands outstretched, trying to push Chen Feng away, but Ah Lian, who was right behind him, blocked her path!
"Move! How dare you stop me?" Chen Yao hissed, trying to push Ah Lian aside, but she couldn't move her an inch. Helpless, she could only look back at Chen Feng. "Brother, is there some misunderstanding between you and Grandpa? How could Uncle and Aunt's deaths have anything to do with him? He may have been strict with you, but it was only because he wanted you to succeed, to one day take over the Chen Family!"
"Heh... The words you just said... ask your 'good' grandfather if he believes them himself. While you're at it, why don't you ask him how your parents disappeared? Isn't it just too much of a coincidence? My father dies mysteriously right when he's showing his business acumen and is poised to take over the Chen Family. Then, your father follows, vanishing suddenly less than three months later!"
Faced with Chen Yao's questioning, Chen Feng's lips twisted into a mocking smile. He bent down, grabbed Chen Shilei by the collar, and hauled him to his feet!
Chen Yao fell silent. It wasn't that she hadn't considered these questions before. She had wondered if her parents, and her uncle and aunt, had been assassinated by a rival family. But she had never, ever considered Chen Shilei a suspect. She couldn't believe her grandfather would do such a thing, nor could she imagine what his motive would be.
"Hmph! I don't know what you're talking about. I was more heartbroken than anyone over the deaths of my eldest and second sons! They were my boys! How could I possibly harm them when I barely had time to cherish them? Stop making up these lies to justify your plot to seize the Chen family fortune!" Chen Shilei snorted, his eyes filled with venom as he glared at Chen Feng.
"Here's a video from back then. Miss, if you watch this, you'll understand." Ah Lian glanced at Chen Shilei and handed the tablet she was holding to Chen Yao.
With trembling hands, Chen Yao looked at the play button on the screen and, with a complex expression, pressed it.
In that instant, Chen Shilei's face went deathly pale. He knew. This video must contain irrefutable proof; otherwise, Chen Feng and Ah Lian wouldn't be acting so decisively. He also knew what kind of expression Chen Yao would have after learning the truth.
The video wasn't long. It consisted of two clips totaling less than a minute, but after watching it, Chen Yao felt as though a century had passed. She collapsed onto the floor.
"My mother? Where did my mother go?"
Suddenly, Chen Yao shot up, grabbed Chen Shilei by his clothes, and screamed her questions at him.
The first clip showed Chen Feng's parents being run down by a car, just like the official recording she had seen back then. The second clip showed Chen Yao's own parents being abducted. During the struggle, her father was stabbed in the chest and died on the spot, while her mother was dragged away.
This, in itself, didn't seem to have any connection to Chen Shilei. But at the end of the second clip, a short segment showed Chen Shilei meeting with several of the perpetrators. He was giving them a large sum of money and telling them to get lost.
Everything had finally come to light.
"Heh heh, your mother... she was a good woman. A shame, really. She shouldn't have, she really shouldn't have, eavesdropped on my conversation when I was about to have her released. So, I could only generously hand your mother over for them to deal with." Chen Shilei sneered. Unable to argue his way out, he dropped the act entirely.
