Chapter 36
Pushing the thoughts away, Sam deepened the kiss, trying to immerse himself fully in the moment with his new girlfriend. He didn't want to let anything ruin their happiness, not even his doubts or insecurities.
Soon enough, their kiss broke, and Diana looked at him with a smile on her face. "That was sweet. I love how you kiss me."
"You mean how passionate and demanding my kisses are because of my lack of experience?"
"I didn't say that, but yes. I love your enthusiasm. It makes me feel desired and sexy."
"Hey. You don't have to tease me. Besides, you're the sexiest and hottest woman for anyone with eyes. How could I make you feel that?"
"Oh, is that so?" Diana raised an eyebrow. "If I'm so hot, you have to guard me well. Otherwise, other men might snatch me away. Understand?"
Sam's lips twitched slightly at her words. It reminded him of last night when someone else touched his girlfriend freely, and he didn't even confront them. That thought stung, but he masked it with a smirk.
"Don't worry. I'll be on guard 24/7, making sure no one gets too close to you except me."
He then squeezed her ass, making her gasp. "Like this. My handprint will mark you as my woman."
Diana laughed and slapped his hand away playfully. "Stop that, pervert. We're in a park, you know? There might be kids watching us."
Following that, they spent the rest of the day strolling, talking, and laughing, enjoying each other's company.
When evening came, Diana invited Sam inside her house, but he politely refused. He had to get back home and prepare for tomorrow, which was a valid reason.
Diana pouted at his decision, but she didn't insist. She just kissed him goodbye and said, "See you tomorrow, boyfriend. Text me as soon as you get home."
"Will do. Bye, my hottie."
With a smile, Sam turned around and headed to the bus stop.
Once Sam boarded the bus and sat down, his expression shifted from happy to troubled.
He couldn't stop thinking about everything that had happened last night and earlier today. His mind was in turmoil; he didn't know how to feel or what to do. He loved Diana and wanted to be with her, but at the same time, he felt uneasy and suspicious.
'Let's sort out this mess step by step.' Sam took a deep breath and started to organize his thoughts.
'First, I met Diana, and we hit it off immediately. I mean, it's hard not to be attracted to her, considering her looks and personality, and she was interested in me, too. We kissed and met again yesterday. We had lunch, went back to her place, and eventually fucked. A lot.'
Just remembering how wild and satisfying the sex was made Sam's dick twitch in his pants, bringing a grin to his face. He couldn't wait to do it again.
'So far, so good, right? Everything went smoothly, and we both liked it. No issues there.'
'Next, Diana secretly met Jake last night. She was barely dressed, and he touched her inappropriately. Not to mention, Diana let him do it without any resistance. It seemed like they were used to it. That's where the problem lies.'
Sam bit his lower lip as the image of them in front of the mansion haunted him. His chest felt tight, and his fists clenched in his lap.
'Okay, stop jumping to conclusions, Sam. Think rationally. What did you actually see? Jake touched her body while Diana just stood there. She didn't stop him, nor did she return the touch. She didn't hug or kiss him, either. So technically, it was one-sided. Diana just didn't seem to care.'
That was true. If she had reacted in any other way, Sam would have confronted her without hesitation. He wasn't going to accept her cheating on him, even if they had just started dating. He had his principles.
Then, something else came to his mind. Something more important.
'I saw Jake take Diana into his embrace, pulling her closer by the waist. But Diana pulled away shortly after and went back inside the house while Jake left.'
'This proves Diana didn't cheat on me with him. If anything, she rejected him. Right?'
Then again, Diana's indifference bothered him almost as much as Jake's touch. Why didn't she stop him? Why did she let him touch her so freely?
'Did they use to be lovers? Did they fuck before?'
'Of course they did, dumbass! If not, why else would Jake act that way with her? He clearly has feelings for her, or at least lingering ones, which made him show up at her house in the middle of the night. He must have found out about us. That has to be the reason.'
It was the only explanation that made sense to Sam.
'Alright, assuming they were ex-lovers, what now? Diana clearly said she wanted to be with me. She showed it through her words and actions. So, I should believe her, right? But the problem is...'
Sam hesitated to finish the thought. The problem was Diana's casual reaction to Jake's touch; it seemed to imply that she had no problem with him touching her, even though they weren't together anymore.
'No. I have to be the "Guardian" she asked me to be. I'll make sure that no one, including Jake, gets too close to her. I'll remind her indirectly through my actions and show her how I feel. That'll be better than being possessive or suspicious. After all, if Diana loves me, she'll understand my concern and respond accordingly. Which I'm sure she will.'
With that decided, Sam relaxed his tense shoulders and let out a sigh. His mind felt a bit clearer now, but his heart still felt heavy with a lingering hint of jealousy.
However, he tried not to dwell on it too much. Instead, he reminded himself to keep his promise to Diana and guard her from everyone.
'I'm not going to lose you, Diana. I'm going to make you mine for real.'
