Chapter 37
When Sam returned home, it was already past seven in the evening. The smell of delicious food greeted him at the door, making his stomach growl in anticipation.
As he walked inside, he noticed Alia setting up the dining table all by herself. He couldn't see Chloe anywhere.
The first thing he thought about when seeing his mother was their 'encounter' yesterday. He recalled how they both pleasured themselves while watching each other, which made him feel both ashamed and aroused at the same time.
Thankfully, things with Diana helped to distract him until now. But as soon as he laid eyes on his mother's stunning face and voluptuous body, which was clad in a black camisole and skinny shorts, his mind flashed back to those erotic images.
He even pictured her wearing nothing at all, with only an apron on. It was such a sexy image that it made his cock twitch in his pants.
'Fuck... As soon as I get over one hot woman, my mind goes back to another. What the hell is wrong with me?' Sam cursed himself inwardly and shook his head to clear his thoughts.
Alia noticed Sam's arrival and smiled at him. She put down the plates and wiped her hands on her apron before approaching him.
"Welcome home, Sam. Did you have dinner outside?"
Her soft, sweet voice snapped Sam out of his daze. "Oh, uh... no, not yet. I planned to eat at home with you and Chloe, actually. Where is she, by the way?"
He hoped that mentioning Chloe would shift his focus away from Alia, who was too close for comfort right now.
"She's out with Jake," Alia replied casually. "She called me earlier and said she would come back late again tonight."
At the mention of Jake, Sam felt a slight annoyance. He was glad Chloe was not home because that meant he wouldn't have to deal with her teasing and clinginess. But the thought of her spending another night with Jake didn't sit well with him. After all, he saw the guy just last night with his girlfriend. Not to mention how he touched Diana.
"I see. I hope she'll come back early. It's not good to stay out too late."
"Yes, exactly. Even if she wants to spend time with her boyfriend, it's important to be responsible. Especially when there are many people out there who might cause trouble for young girls like her."
Alia looked at Sam with concern as she spoke. Her expression was not just about Chloe, though. A part of her was also thinking about Sam, who was also out last night.
Just then Alia noticed a small mark peeking out from Sam's shirt collar. It looked like a hickey.
At that moment, her mind went blank. Her heart stopped as if it had forgotten to beat. Even her breath got stuck in her throat.
'Sam has a hickey... meaning he must have gotten it from the girl he met the day before... which meant... they... they slept together.'
The realization hit Alia hard. Even though she had known it would happen, even hoped for it to happen so that Sam wouldn't focus on her, it still hurt to see it so blatantly displayed on his body.
Someone else had left their mark on Sam's skin, marking him as theirs. The thought of it made Alia want to cry. Jealousy, disappointment, sadness, and other emotions surged through her chest like a raging storm. All of which she had to suppress.
How could she show such feelings when she had no right to be jealous? It was her who had made it look like nothing had happened between her and Sam despite them crossing the line. And it was she who was rejecting Sam in favor of keeping the family stable.
Moreover, the woman who gave Sam the hickey could make him happy without any obstacles. Unlike her, she couldn't be with him as his lover, only as his mother.
The guilt of her forbidden feelings weighed heavily on Alia's heart. She wanted Sam to be happy, truly, but seeing someone else have him in such an intimate way was painful beyond words.
"Are you okay, Mom?"
Sam's voice broke through Alia's inner turmoil. She snapped out of her thoughts and saw Sam's concerned face staring at her.
Realizing she had been quiet for too long, Alia quickly masked her feelings with a gentle smile and said, "Yes, I'm fine, dear. Let's have dinner. I'm sure you're hungry."
Before Sam could say anything else, Alia pulled out the chair for him and sat down on the opposite seat. Then she started serving the food.
Throughout the meal, Alia avoided any mention of Sam's 'date' or anything that might bring up the topic of him sleeping with someone else. She didn't want to hear the details or know anything more than necessary.
All she wanted was to enjoy this moment of peace and pretend that everything was fine, that her son had not just fucked another woman last night and was marked by her. She tried her best to keep the conversation light and casual.
On the other hand, Sam didn't notice Alia's unusual behaviour because he was too busy thinking about his own issues. He didn't know that she was hurting inside and trying to hide it from him.
Thus, their dinner finished rather uneventfully. They cleaned up together, as usual, before going to their respective rooms.
But before they separated, Alia stopped Sam with a hesitant voice. "Um... Sam..."
"Yes?" Sam turned around to look at her, waiting for her to continue.
For a few seconds, Alia bit her lower lip, looking as if she were struggling to find the right words. But in the end, she said something unexpected.
"Could you give me a massage before sleeping? My shoulders and back are killing me from working all day. Unless... you're too tired, of course. I'll understand."
