Chapter 531 - 521: Saving Ariel 14
"Those guys really have a clever scheme," Sugarush muttered.
After seeing Raoul off, Redlight looked at Moira Lynch and said, "Those pirates are vicious. Do you want to team up with us? We could help each other out."
"I’d rather not," Moira Lynch refused decisively.
’Are you kidding me? Sticking with you guys right now would be the real danger.’
’Besides, with so many people in one group, who would get the supplies if we ran into survivors?’
’That’s a very serious problem.’
’After all, the system already warned us about the dangers of this game before it even started.’
The rejection was what Redlight had expected. After all, this was the impression Moira Lynch had always given.
He was just a little disappointed.
If Moira Lynch had been willing to go with them, they would have been much safer with that Black Wolf around.
After parting ways with Redlight, Moira Lynch continued in another direction.
After walking for about half an hour, Moira Lynch still hadn’t found any trace of survivors.
She couldn’t help but yawn. Realizing she hadn’t rested for over twenty-four hours, Moira Lynch decided to find a place to rest for a bit.
Looking around, she soon noticed a giant boulder in the distance.
The boulder was leaning against a wall, forming a corner just big enough for someone of Moira Lynch’s size to squeeze into.
After confirming it was safe inside, Moira Lynch slipped into a sleeping bag and easily slid into the space.
Before falling asleep, Moira Lynch had Patience set an alarm to wake her up at a specific time, or if anything unusual happened.
Having given her instructions, Moira Lynch finally allowed herself to relax. Probably because she was so exhausted, she fell asleep almost instantly.
An unknown amount of time passed before Moira Lynch was startled awake by a voice.
But it wasn’t Patience’s voice. It was the system’s.
[Attention all players: Due to unknown reasons, an internal conflict has broken out among the pirates, allowing a large number of survivors to escape. Players, please find these survivors and provide them with assistance!!!]

The announcement, repeated three times, jolted Moira Lynch completely awake.
As she crawled out of her sleeping spot, she heard the sound of an explosion in the distance.
[Master, this is the video feed just sent back by Golden Celestial Eye No. 3.]
A video clip quickly began to play before Moira Lynch’s eyes.
The video showed a location on Ariel Planet where Ariel Crystal Stones could be mined in large quantities.
A large number of survivors had been brought here by a group of pirates and were being forced to mine the newly grown Ariel Crystal Stones with their bare hands.
Moira Lynch watched the video, her gaze focusing on one particular person.
Kai York!
After checking and rechecking, Moira Lynch finally confirmed that Kai York was one of the captured people.
’Wait, how did he get caught?’
’No, that’s not right. Why are his clothes different?’
Moira Lynch glanced down at her own clothes, which she had been forced to change into after entering the game. But the clothes Kai York was wearing were clearly his own.
’Could it be that he’s not an Escort?’
’Once that thought occurred to her, it made sense why Kai York wasn’t wearing an Escort’s uniform.’
She continued watching the video.
Moira Lynch’s attention was now entirely focused on the Kai York in the video.
’From what I know of Kai York, he shouldn’t have been caught. Unless he was just incredibly unlucky and got sent straight to the pirates’ main nest.’
Then, something unknown happened in the video. All the pirates suddenly looked in a certain direction, and right after, an explosion rocked the area, throwing everything into chaos.
In the video, Moira Lynch watched with her own eyes as Kai York smoothly broke free of his restraints, helped the other hostages do the same, and led them in an escape.
Although the pirates reacted quickly and took countermeasures, Kai York still managed to rescue a significant number of people.
Through the Heavenly Eye, Moira Lynch could tell that this rescue was no spontaneous act, but a meticulously planned operation.
The video ended as Kai York led the people to a safe location.
"Is there more?" Moira Lynch asked.
[No. It seems Kai York noticed he was being monitored, so he kicked up a gust of wind that blew Golden Celestial Eye No. 3 away. However, I have already marked the specific location on the map.]
"Nice work."
With the exact location in hand, Moira Lynch decided to go find them.
After all, the group of survivors Kai York had just rescued looked to be several dozen, perhaps even a hundred strong. They would definitely be in dire need of supplies.
Moira Lynch had originally wanted to fly there directly, but considering how conspicuous that would be and how easily it would expose her position, she took out her small electric scooter instead.
It was small and fast.
Given the considerable distance between them, Moira Lynch didn’t dare waste a second, riding toward Kai York’s position at full speed.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Kai York was also trying to find a way to contact Moira Lynch.
Moira Lynch’s earlier guess had been correct. This time, Kai York’s role wasn’t an Escort, but a member of the Rescue Team—as the name implied, someone who specializes in putting themselves in harm’s way to save others.
The mission Kai York had received was to pose as a survivor on Ariel Planet, get captured by the pirates, and then use the opportunity to incite a riot and rescue as many hostages as possible.
According to the original plan, there was supposed to be someone on the outside providing support for him.
But for some reason, though he had gotten the hostages out as planned, the people who were supposed to meet him were gone.
Kai York knew there hadn’t been any issues on his end, which meant the problem lay with the people who were supposed to be his backup.
Kai York had the distinct feeling he’d been played.
But now wasn’t the time to settle the score with them.
Right now, he had no supplies other than the food he’d prepared before entering the game, but before him were dozens of pairs of starving eyes.
The pirates, wanting to keep their labor force functional, hadn’t let them starve, but they had only given them just enough to eat to not die. There was nothing more than that.
That was why Kai York thought of Moira Lynch.
He remembered Moira Lynch mentioning something about supply crates in their group chat before.
He’d found it a bit strange at the time, but thinking back now, it was probably because their two missions were different.
