My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 234: Cleaving a Pickup Truck with a Single Slash

The surroundings were nothing but yellow earth with very few trees. When the wind blew, the sky filled with yellow sand.

The nearby villages weren’t large, but they were quite populous. All the people had dark skin.

They drove for another hour and a half, passing countless small villages before finally reaching their destination.

By this time, it was already approaching noon.

Chu Feng arrived at a small, extremely remote village. The entire place probably had no more than ten households and was incredibly poor.

Just as they arrived, they saw dozens of vehicles speeding toward them from several directions in the distance.

After seeing this, Chu Feng and Jiang Tao exchanged a glance.

"Everyone, stay sharp!" He Tao said gravely to his men.

Their side had a total of seven vehicles, carrying less than thirty men in all.

The other side, however, had at least several hundred. How were they supposed to handle this?

The key was that every single person on the opposing side was armed. Most of them carried long guns, automatic ones at that. A single burst would riddle a man with holes like a hornet’s nest.

They even had heavy weapons. A casual glance was enough to scare you half to death.

"Mr. Chu." Jiang Tao glanced at Chu Feng. Although he was the head of the security department, he was extremely nervous, his palms sweating.

Their vehicles were parked not far from the village entrance, surrounded by the Gobi desert. There was basically nowhere to take cover.

If that heavy firepower were turned on the small village behind them, it would probably be blasted into dust.

"Minister He, don’t worry," Chu Feng said calmly. "We’ll be fine."

So what if the enemy had more men? Chu Feng wasn’t the least bit afraid, because he had no reason to be.

With his level of strength, what did it matter if they had guns? Whether they could even hit him was another question entirely.

With the sword in his hand, he could slice a car in half with a single strike, no problem at all.

Soon, the enemy’s dozens of vehicles had completely surrounded Chu Feng and his group.

A large number of men got out of the vehicles. All of them had dark skin, wore sunglasses, and were covered in muscle.

Every single one of them had a ferocious and menacing look that would make anyone who saw them involuntarily afraid.

One of them, a man with yellow skin, stepped forward and said to Chu Feng’s group, "Where’s the money?"

"The money’s here. Where are the people? Let me see them first." Chu Feng tossed out a bag, unzipping it to reveal stacks of cash.

After seeing the money, the man had his subordinates bring the hostages over.

Just then, Su Linsheng and the other six were brought forward.

Although all seven were safe, they were in poor shape—disheveled and grimy, with numerous injuries on their bodies. It was clear they had been beaten quite a bit.

When Su Linsheng saw Chu Feng, he was overjoyed, and tears of excitement streamed down his face.

He was no longer as calm as before. After so many days, he had been on the verge of despair. How could he not be emotional now that he had finally seen family?

The staff members behind Su Linsheng were also incredibly emotional.

"Son-in-law! You’re finally here!" Su Linsheng shouted.

These past few days, he hadn’t slept or eaten well. He must have lost dozens of pounds.

Besides, he knew Chu Feng could easily afford the ransom. After all, Chu Feng was worth tens of billions; one billion was a trivial matter for him.

"Release them, and I’ll give you the money," Chu Feng said to the man.

As he spoke, Chu Feng tossed the bag in front of them, and bundles of cash spilled out.

"This is it? This isn’t two billion." The man’s eyes were glued to the cash.

But the amount of money here was indeed not enough.

"That’s ten million. The rest is in the car. Let the people go, you take the money, and leave," Chu Feng said.

"We don’t believe you. How can you prove it?" the yellow-skinned man said.

His Mandarin was very fluent. Clearly, this wasn’t his first time pulling off a kidnapping like this.

"Come with me and see for yourself," Chu Feng said.

The man thought for a moment, then nodded. "Fine. If you dare to pull any tricks, none of you are getting away!"

With that, the man followed Chu Feng over to the car.

As the leader of these armed militants, he wasn’t afraid of Chu Feng trying anything. If he discovered any funny business, his men would ensure Chu Feng and his group couldn’t escape.

Once the man had followed Chu Feng to the side of the vehicle, Chu Feng sent a slap flying straight at him.

SLAP! THUD!

The slap sent the man’s head crashing violently into the car door.

Just like that, the leader of the militants was knocked unconscious.

Instantly, many of the militants raised their guns, all of them aiming at Chu Feng.

"Let them go, or your leader loses his head." Chu Feng pressed a dagger against the man’s neck.

So what if there were so many people pointing guns at him? Chu Feng wasn’t afraid in the slightest.

After all, he now held their leader hostage.

However, Chu Feng had miscalculated.

Across from him, someone with ulterior motives pulled the trigger, and a bullet shot out.

It struck their leader directly in the chest.

Once the first shot was fired, a second followed, and soon, gunfire erupted everywhere.

"Get down!"

Chu Feng roared and drew the Heaven-Slaying Sword.

He was incredibly fast. In a single dash, he crossed several dozen meters in what felt like an instant.

SHIIING!

He swung his sword, cleaving a pickup truck completely in two.

The man inside was also split apart.

Then, he swept his sword again, releasing a wave of Sword Qi from its tip.

SHLICK! SHLICK! SHLICK!

This single strike cut down more than a dozen men.

It had all happened in just a few seconds, shocking many of the men so badly that their minds went blank, completely short-circuiting.

A powerful wave of fear slammed into their minds.

The remaining few hundred men didn’t even think twice; they turned and fled.

They weren’t looking for a death wish. In their eyes, this Chu Feng fellow was a demon.

One man, one sword, cleaving even a car in two—he was just too powerful.

After the militants fled, He Kun and the others were all completely stunned.

"Holy crap! Is that even possible?" He Tao was shocked. The speed and explosive power Chu Feng had just unleashed were beyond the limits of a human being.

To put it bluntly, what he did was something no normal person could do.

"Xiao Feng, you... you..." Su Linsheng was also deeply shocked.

He never imagined that Chu Feng could be this badass.

"Dad, it’s okay now. I’m taking you home. Mom and Miaoke are waiting for you," Chu Feng said to Su Linsheng.

At that moment, even though the attackers had fled, this place was still very dangerous.
