Chapter 231: Extremely Worried
"Brother Chu, you need to think this through. It’s not like it is at home. It’s chaotic over there, full of desperados. My advice is to just pay them to let him go. That should settle it," Zhao Liu urged.
"No, I have to go. My mother-in-law is over there. If I don’t go and she ends up in danger, I’ll never be able to face my wife," Chu Feng said.
"Sigh... All right, all right. I’ll arrange it for you now. Brother Chu, you can just head straight to the airport," Zhao Liu said with a sigh of resignation.
After that, Zhao Liu began to make the arrangements.
"Come on, let’s pack our bags. We’re leaving now," Chu Feng said to Su Miaoke.
"Okay," Su Miaoke agreed, nodding solemnly.
Even though a plane had been arranged, they were still going abroad. There were things they needed to prepare.
Passports, a change of clothes, and a few other necessities.
Buying a private jet costs a fortune, and the subsequent operating and maintenance costs are just as high. All told, the annual expenses add up to at least tens of millions.
Without deep pockets, you simply can’t afford to maintain a private jet.
By the time the two of them drove to the airport, the plane was already waiting for them.
"Mr. Chu, right this way, please." As soon as Chu Feng’s car pulled into the airport, a staff member immediately approached with an open umbrella to welcome him and Su Miaoke.
The service was impeccable, immediately giving them a sense of exclusive treatment.
Once aboard, Chu Feng took a look around. This jet was every bit as luxurious as Jiang Tao’s, if not more so. Simply put, it was even more extravagant.
The plane had everything, even a small karaoke room, a shower, and a game room.
"Mr. Chu, Miss Su, would you care for anything to eat or drink?" a lovely flight attendant asked.
Chu Feng ordered a glass of juice, and Su Miaoke asked for a cup of coffee.
"How long until we reach our destination?" Chu Feng asked the flight attendant.
"Mr. Chu, the flight to our destination, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will take seven and a half hours. It’s a rather long trip, so if you and Miss Su get tired, you’re welcome to rest in the private rooms," the flight attendant replied patiently.
"Alright. Thank you," Chu Feng said with a nod.
It might have been an airplane, but its level of luxury and comfort was comparable to a presidential suite.
Soon, a call came from Zhao Liu.
"Brother Chu, how are things? You’ve boarded the plane, I take it?" Zhao Liu asked.
"Just got on. We’re about to take off. Thank you for your help, Sixth Master," Chu Feng said.
"Brother Chu, there’s no need for such formalities between us. It makes us sound like strangers. This was my oversight; I’m the one to blame for what happened to your father-in-law," Zhao Liu said with a sigh.
"Sixth Master, don’t worry. I’ll be fine," Chu Feng said before hanging up.
’If Zhao Liu hadn’t arranged a private jet for him, he would’ve had to figure out a way to get there on his own. After all, it was an ocean away and extremely far.’
’Even if he had asked Jiang Tao, it wasn’t certain he could have secured the flight permissions for that region. Jiang Tao, after all, rarely flew internationally.’
’But Zhao Liu was different. His transportation business meant he flew all over the world, so he generally had the most available flight routes.’
"Honey, are you really sure you can handle this?" Su Miaoke asked, her voice laced with worry.
She knew Chu Feng was formidable and powerful, but this was different.
They were going abroad, to a foreign land where they knew no one. Plus, she had heard how chaotic it was overseas, with shootings being a regular occurrence.
Because of all this, Su Miaoke couldn’t help but be worried.
"Honey, don’t worry too much," Chu Feng said reassuringly. "Since the kidnappers haven’t harmed him, it means they’re just after money. As long as we give them enough, Dad will be fine."
"I told him so many times how dangerous it is overseas, that he should just let his employees handle it. But Dad wouldn’t listen; he insisted on going himself," Su Miaoke said, her voice full of grievance.
She was terribly worried about her father’s safety. After all, he was the only father she had.
"Sigh, what can you do? You have to understand how he feels. What man doesn’t want to see his business grow bigger and bigger?" Chu Feng said with a helpless sigh.
’Being a man himself, he naturally understood that way of thinking.’
’But that place was just too chaotic and fraught with danger. Going there was a huge risk.’
’Clearly, Su Linsheng had underestimated the dangers abroad and hadn’t taken proper security precautions. Otherwise, something like this would never have happened.’
"But he needs to think about his family, too! If something happens to him, what are we supposed to do?" Su Miaoke cried, tears finally spilling from her eyes.
Chu Feng comforted her, gently wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Don’t worry, Dad will be fine. Trust me," Chu Feng said.
Then, Chu Feng tried calling his mother-in-law again, hoping she would answer.
But there was no answer.
Her phone was still turned off.
Soon, the plane began its takeoff, taxiing along the runway.
It might have been a private jet, but its performance and condition were top-notch.
This was the result of Zhao Liu spending billions.
The jet was massive and incredibly luxurious. It was equipped with nearly every amenity imaginable, including a bathtub, a steam room, and a sauna.
Half an hour later, Su Miaoke tried calling her mother again, but there was still no answer.
This only made Su Miaoke worry more.
"Don’t worry. Mom probably hasn’t landed yet. She’ll likely call us back once she does," Chu Feng said.
「Four hours later.」
Suddenly, Chu Feng’s phone rang.
"Mom, have you landed?" Chu Feng asked.
Thanks to the advanced systems on Zhao Liu’s private jet, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke could use their phones normally without needing to turn them off or switch to airplane mode.
"Xiao Feng, where are you? Something’s happened to your father!" Chu Feng’s mother-in-law cried out the moment she answered the phone.
"Mom, I know. Miaoke and I are already on a plane. Where are you now?" Chu Feng asked.
"I just got off the plane," his mother-in-law replied.
"Okay, Mom, wait for us at the airport. We’ll be there in about three hours. Please don’t go anywhere," Chu Feng said.
"What? You’re coming too? But my flight was the last one! How did you get here?" his mother-in-law asked, completely shocked.
"We’re on Zhao Liu’s private jet. We’re on our way now, Mom, so don’t you worry," Chu Feng said reassuringly.
"Okay, Xiao Feng, please hurry. I have faith in you. Your dad... he’ll be okay, right?" his mother-in-law said, her voice thick with tears.
"He won’t be harmed. They just want money, they won’t do anything to him," Chu Feng said.
With that, Chu Feng handed the phone to Su Miaoke.
Su Miaoke, who had been listening from the side, was worried sick—not just for her father, but now for her mother as well.
