Chapter 216: Hurry Up and Rest
In other words, if the guy wasn’t so cautious, he never would have survived this long. Someone would have flayed him alive ages ago.
Outside the Inspection Bureau, Chu Feng, Su Miaoke, and Zhao Quan had been lying in wait for some time, but there was still no sign of movement.
By this point, Chu Feng was starting to get impatient. He asked Su Miaoke, "What time is it?"
"It’s one-thirty," Su Miaoke replied after checking the time.
"Honey, do you think he might have already gotten far away? That he’s not here?" Su Miaoke asked.
"It’s possible. He might have even left Beihai already. Let’s give it another ten minutes. If nothing happens in ten minutes, we’ll go home," Chu Feng said with a sigh.
Although he was eager to catch the guy, they had been staking out the place for ages without a single sighting. He couldn’t just keep his wife and Zhao Quan waiting here for half the night.
Soon, ten minutes had passed. Chu Feng prepared to get up.
"Big Brother, I think we can wait a little longer. It’s not like we have anything better to do. Maybe if we wait just a bit more, he’ll show himself," Zhao Quan said.
Chu Feng thought about it. He had a point. So, they continued the stakeout.
Another two or three minutes passed. Suddenly, there was movement on the side wall of the Inspection Bureau.
"Someone’s there!" Su Miaoke exclaimed in a whisper.
She was a Martial Cultivator now, so seeing in the dark was perfectly normal for her. Plus, with the lights from inside the Inspection Bureau, it wasn’t hard to get a clear view.
"I see him. I can’t believe he was actually hiding in there. He really pulled the old ’wait-it-out-in-the-dark’ trick." A cold smile crept onto Chu Feng’s lips. This time, he absolutely would not let the man escape.
When Zhao Quan saw One-Eyed climbing over the wall, his eyes lit up with excitement, and he began rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
This One-Eyed had been hiding in a cell all along—unknown, undiscovered, and unnoticed.
And now he had slipped out of that cell just as silently, without anyone realizing.
The man’s stealth abilities were incredible; it was a shame he wasn’t a special agent.
Before leaving, One-Eyed took one last, deep look at the Inspection Bureau.
’Beihai! I’m never coming back to this shithole! That bitch, and that fatso—just you wait. One day, I’ll make you both pay!’ One-Eyed swore to himself, preparing to leave.
The "bitch" he mentioned was Wan Jie, and the "fatso" was Jiang Tao.
He had originally just planned to rob Jiang Tao, but he never expected to land himself in such a perilous situation.
Thankfully, Wan Jie had been careless and let him escape. Otherwise, he would have already fallen into the Zhao Family’s hands by now.
’And that kid... what’s his story? How could a young man from the Chu Family possibly be in Beihai? It’s been years since one of them showed up here,’ One-Eyed Dragon muttered to himself again.
He was terrified of Chu Feng, whose strength was so great that he found it difficult to even defend himself.
That was why whenever he thought of Chu Feng, an inexplicable fear would rise from the depths of his heart.
If it hadn’t been for Chu Feng, how could they have failed this time?
"No matter what! That kid dared to provoke me, One-Eyed Dragon! He’s a dead man! Scarface, rest assured, when I get back, I’ll slaughter his entire family and all his friends!" One-Eyed Dragon said viciously.
However, just as he finished his words and was about to leave, Chu Feng and the other two appeared behind him.
"Hey. I heard you say you’re going to slaughter my whole family?" Chu Feng called out.
Hearing that voice, every hair on One-Eyed Dragon’s body stood on end. He whipped his head around and saw Chu Feng and the other two standing just a few meters behind him.
The crucial thing was, he had no idea when they had appeared. He hadn’t heard a single footstep.
"You... How are you here?!" One-Eyed Dragon yelled in terror, thoroughly spooked.
But Chu Feng didn’t answer. He just walked up and delivered a kick.
THUD!
The kick landed squarely in One-Eyed Dragon’s abdomen. The man was sent flying—at least ten-odd meters through the air.
"Holy crap! Big Brother, you didn’t just kick him to death, did you?!" Zhao Quan exclaimed upon seeing this.
Zhao Quan swallowed nervously. ’Chu Feng is just too damn strong,’ he thought. ’Sending someone flying that far with a single kick... It’s insane.’
"I controlled my strength. He won’t die. At most, he’ll be bedridden for half a month," Chu Feng said nonchalantly.
Indeed, One-Eyed Dragon had been knocked unconscious by the kick. The pain was so intense it felt as if his entire body was being torn to shreds.
Even though he was a Qi Cultivation Realm cultivator, he couldn’t withstand such agony.
"Go drag him over here," Chu Feng ordered Zhao Quan.
"Okay." Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Zhao Quan jogged over and dragged the man back in front of Chu Feng.
"Big Brother, what do we do with him now?" Zhao Quan asked.
"What else? We drag him to the entrance of the Inspection Bureau and let them deal with him. I’ve caught the guy for them. If he escapes again, there’s nothing more I can do," Chu Feng said.
Zhao Quan nodded and grabbed one of the man’s legs, dragging him along the ground.
They arrived at the entrance of the Inspection Bureau.
Chu Feng yelled right at the entrance, "Someone get out here!"
His voice was massive, like a megaphone.
He believed that after the last lesson, Wan Jie wouldn’t dare be careless again. That was why Chu Feng chose to hand the man over to the Inspection Bureau once more.
Inside her office, Wan Jie wore a worried expression. With One-Eyed on the run, the threat was too great.
Her main concern was that One-Eyed would cause some other major trouble. If that happened, she would be held responsible.
After all, his escape was inextricably linked to her.
Soon, Wan Jie came out.
Zhao Quan promptly threw the man down in front of Wan Jie.
Seeing the scene before her, Wan Jie was completely dumbfounded.
"Is... is that One-Eyed Dragon? You caught him?" Wan Jie was stunned for a moment before snapping out of it, her voice filled with excitement.
Her face was a mask of pure excitement.
"I’ve brought him back for you. If he gets away again, I’m powerless to help," Chu Feng said lightly.
At that moment, Wan Jie suddenly remembered something. She said excitedly, "The people from the Zhao Family just left. I hear you’re very familiar with them. Why not hand him over to them?"
"The Zhao Family? This guy right here is from the Zhao Family," Chu Feng said, gesturing to Zhao Quan. "You can negotiate with them how to handle it. I don’t have time to get mixed up in this stuff. I have to get home and sleep with my wife." He then turned, took Su Miaoke’s hand, and started walking toward the road.
Hearing Chu Feng say that, Su Miaoke’s pretty face immediately flushed red.
"You’re always saying such nonsense in public." Su Miaoke stomped her foot in frustration, looking both shy and annoyed.
"What nonsense? You’re my wife. Is it illegal for us to sleep together? It’s not like I’m sleeping with someone else’s wife," Chu Feng said, exasperated.
