My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 48: The Tang Family’s Means

"Hold on a little longer. We’ll definitely find a way to get out of here alive," Chu Feng said, comforting everyone.

At a time like this, encouraging everyone was the most important thing.

He had to make sure everyone held on to the will to live. After all, if they all lost hope out here on this vast, unknown sea, things would get very troublesome.

But Chu Feng also understood that a whole night had passed with no one coming to rescue them. The hope was slim.

In reality, Chu Feng and the others had no idea that the captain’s so-called radio call for help was just a sham. He hadn’t sent any real distress signal; it was all an act for Chu Feng’s benefit.

Su Group, Su Miaoke’s office.

Su Miaoke was sitting in her office, her face a mask of fury. She repeatedly clicked the ballpoint pen in her hand and said angrily, "That damned Chu Feng! How dare he not answer my calls all night! All men are the same damn dogs. He probably saw a pretty girl and couldn’t tear himself away."

Su Miaoke gritted her teeth, absolutely furious.

Even though she knew Chu Feng was with the Zhao Family, the fact that he’d ignored her for so long made her extremely angry.

Just then, Su Miaoke’s father, Su Linsheng, walked into the office with a smile. "What’s wrong? Still mad at Chu Feng? Don’t be angry. Didn’t Dad tell you he went to accompany those young masters from the Zhao Family?"

"I know he’s accompanying people, but does that mean he can’t even send a text or call back all night?" Su Miaoke said indignantly.

"Oh, my dear daughter, don’t be angry. They went out to sea. It’s normal for a phone to have no signal," Su Linsheng said, comforting Su Miaoke. "I can vouch for Xiao Feng’s character. He would never do anything to betray you. If I hadn’t personally asked him to do me this favor, he would have refused to go, even if you beat him to death."

"Hmph. Going out to sea for a whole night? He might as well just go die in the ocean," Su Miaoke said, displeased. "And even if you needed someone to go with them, couldn’t you have just found someone else? Aren’t those guys in the company’s sales department good talkers? Why did it have to be Chu Feng?"

"When Xiao Feng gets back, I’ll have him take you out to have some fun. Just don’t be angry anymore," Su Linsheng said.

「Beihai City, on a remote stretch of coastline.」

A yacht was moored at a dilapidated pier.

Several people were on the yacht, and they all disembarked.

One of them was the very same captain who had been piloting Chu Feng’s boat.

If Chu Feng and the others had been there to see this, they would have known instantly that the so-called engine trouble was just an excuse.

"Old Song, you really did a thorough job. The money is already in your account," said a young man wearing sunglasses.

"You got it, boss. Thanks! Those kids definitely aren’t going to make it. I made sure to take the boat to a spot with no islands or other ships for a hundred nautical miles in any direction. They’ve probably already become shark food by now."

"Excellent," the young man said.

"Remember, take the money and disappear immediately," the young man warned.

"You got it!"

After Captain Old Song left, the young men all burst out into triumphant laughter.

"The Zhao Family’s younger generation and that Chu Feng, all caught in one net. Let’s see how the Zhao Family competes with our Tang Family now!" the young man in sunglasses said with a smug look.

"Out in the vast ocean, what does it matter if one of the Zhao Family is at the late stage of the Body Tempering Realm? He’ll still end up as shark food."

"He dared to kill my big brother. That bastard had to die!"

All of these young men were incredibly cocky.

"By the way, Brother Mu, what do we do if Miss Churan finds out?" someone suddenly asked.

These guys were all from the Tang Family. They had bribed the captain to send the young disciples of the Zhao Family, along with Chu Feng, to a watery grave.

The Tang Family was also a major clan with numerous disciples of varying status.

The late Tang Lin’s status in the Tang Family had been quite high, and the young man named Tang Mu, who was among them now, had an even higher status.

That was why these young men were so respectful toward Tang Mu, treating him as their leader.

These guys had accompanied the Tang Family’s eldest miss, Tang Churan, to Beihai. They had simply hidden their plan for revenge from her.

The main reason was that Tang Mu harbored a deep hostility toward Tang Churan. Their cultivation realms were similar, but Tang Churan’s status was slightly higher than his.

"If none of us say anything, how will she find out? If any of you dare to run your mouth, don’t blame me for being ruthless!" Tang Mu said menacingly, his eyes sweeping over them.

This guy, just like Tang Lin, was the ruthless type.

Meanwhile, Chu Feng, who was drifting on the sea, was fuming.

He kept his eyes glued to the Compass in his hand. They had been drifting all night, and not only had they not seen an island, they hadn’t seen a single damn thing.

He was now certain in his heart that there was definitely something wrong with that captain.

Chu Feng felt completely helpless. ’What rotten luck.’

"Look! Is that an island up ahead?" Zhao Qinghan suddenly cried out.

Her finger was pointing in a specific direction.

Zhao Quan was lying on his back, and he said listlessly, "Sister Qinghan, don’t even say it. Right now, I wouldn’t believe you even if you told me there was a giant watermelon right in front of me."

Her words caught Chu Feng’s attention. He looked in the direction Zhao Qinghan was pointing.

Far, far in the distance, there seemed to be a tiny dot, but it was too blurry to make out.

Chu Feng circulated the Spiritual Qi in his body to his eyes, and his vision instantly sharpened.

He could see it clearly now. It was indeed an island, but it was so far away that he could only make out its silhouette.

"It is! But it’s very far away!" Chu Feng said excitedly.

When Zhao Quan heard Chu Feng confirm it, he was instantly energized, as if he’d been shot full of adrenaline.

"Really? Where? Let me see," Zhao Quan asked excitedly.

He strained his eyes and saw that there did indeed seem to be an island.

"I think it’s real! We have hope!" Zhao Quan got so excited he nearly fell into the sea.

"Quick! While we still have some strength, let’s paddle in that direction! Otherwise, once the sun gets high, we’ll all die of dehydration!" Chu Feng said.

Everyone immediately rolled up their sleeves and began to paddle for their lives.

"I’ll get in and push!" Zhao Quan suddenly felt a surge of strength. He jumped directly into the sea and started pushing from behind as he swam.

"I’ll help!" Another disciple from the Zhao Family also jumped into the sea.

With two people pushing from below and the rest paddling from above, the life raft’s speed instantly increased significantly.

It was at times like this that Chu Feng actually felt the most worried.

He didn’t know how much longer everyone could last, nor did he know just how far away the island really was.
