Chapter 35: Hu Long
"Okay, I’ll book a private room at the Yunji Hotel across the street. We can have dinner and talk then," Su Miaoke said.
"Alright, I’ll be there in half an hour," Su Linsheng said.
After they hung up, Su Miaoke’s mood improved considerably.
"Let’s go. We’re going to dinner. Change your clothes first, my dad will be here soon." Su Miaoke happily handed Chu Feng a brand-new suit.
After Chu Feng put on the suit, his entire presence was greatly elevated.
"Just as I thought. A handsome man looks even more handsome when he’s well-dressed," Su Miaoke said, very satisfied. She then took Chu Feng’s arm and walked out of the office.
Their intimate appearance as they walked through the company immediately aroused the curiosity of many employees.
"Hey, look! Isn’t that President Su?"
"It is her! Why is President Su holding onto a man’s arm?"
"Whoa, no way! Could there be some secret story behind this?"
"That guy’s not bad-looking, and he seems to have a good build. No wonder President Su took a liking to him."
"Man, if only I could be a kept man someday."
The murmurs of discussion spread around them.
Su Miaoke paid them no mind.
But Chu Feng felt a little awkward hearing these comments.
"We should probably be a little more mindful of our image at the company," Chu Feng reminded her.
However, Su Miaoke couldn’t care less.
She let the gossip fly, pretending not to hear any of it.
When they arrived at the Yunji Hotel, the room had already been prepared.
Looking at the luxurious decorations, Chu Feng knew that this place must be expensive.
"Miaoke, do you always eat at such high-end places? A single meal costs hundreds of thousands. You can’t just squander money like this, even if you’re rich," Chu Feng remarked with a sigh.
But Su Miaoke’s response left Chu Feng a bit speechless.
"When you’re eating, what’s important is a clean, comfortable environment and top-quality ingredients. Food is the staff of life, after all. As long as you eat and drink well, you’ll be in a good mood. The money doesn’t matter. We’re rich, anyway," Su Miaoke said.
’Right. Do rich people even care how much they spend?’
"Just order whatever you want. Don’t worry about being wasteful, and don’t try to save money for me. Every time you act like this, it feels like there’s a distance between us. We’re already husband and wife. We have the certificate. We’re a legitimate, legally married couple!" Su Miaoke said, looking unhappy.
Hearing this, Chu Feng felt helpless.
"Alright, alright." Chu Feng quickly agreed. He stopped looking at the prices and directly ordered several dishes he had never tried before.
Not long after, Su Linsheng arrived at the private room.
"Dad," Chu Feng and Su Miaoke said happily when they saw Su Linsheng arrive.
"My dear son-in-law, have you ordered yet?" The way Su Linsheng looked at Chu Feng now was completely different.
His previous satisfaction had transformed into something more. Now, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he was grateful to Chu Feng.
If it weren’t for Chu Feng, he would have been long dead.
"Dad, we’ve already ordered," Su Miaoke replied.
"Miaoke, how did you find out about this Hu Long person?" Su Linsheng asked, his face full of curiosity.
"It was Chu Feng. Today, he found out about an Evil Master from South Asia who was trying to cause trouble at our company. Chu Feng took care of him," Su Miaoke answered.
Su Linsheng turned to look at Chu Feng.
"That’s right. That Hu Long is probably the mastermind who sent the Evil Master from South Asia," Chu Feng said.
"If that’s really the case, then things are about to get troublesome. The Su Family is in danger." Su Linsheng’s expression turned grim.
"Dad, is this Hu Long a big deal?" Su Miaoke asked, confused.
Judging from her father’s expression, this Hu Long seemed to be a terrifying figure.
"You’re both still young, so you don’t know Hu Long’s history. Over twenty years ago, he was just a small-time hoodlum in Beihai City. But that guy is ruthless and vicious, capable of any evil. Now, he’s a major figure in Beihai City’s underworld!"
"It’s likely that when Miaoke was in charge of the company’s expansion, she offended them somewhere along the line, and now they’re retaliating. Things may be more stable now, but it’s not much better than it was twenty years ago."
"Miaoke, do you know why I always wanted you to step down from running the company? It’s because you’re too young and hot-headed, and you easily offend people. You can’t succeed and last long in business just by playing by the book."

Su Linsheng’s words deeply shocked them both.
They never imagined that Beihai City had such a frightening side to it.
"Dad, is what you’re saying really true?" Chu Feng’s face fell, and anger began to bubble up from the bottom of his heart.
Ever since he was old enough to understand, his father had walked with a cane. When he was very young, his classmates and the people from his village would often mock him for it behind his back.
"There’s no direct evidence, but everyone suspects he was involved. For the specifics, you’ll have to ask your father," Su Linsheng said with a worried expression.
"Although the current climate means he won’t be as blatant as he used to be, he is an extremely vicious person. Anyone he targets, he will never let go."
"Then what should we do?" Su Miaoke asked with a frown, her expression turning sour.
"Sigh, there is a way, but we’ll have to pull some strings. We’ll have to spend some money to avert this disaster," Su Linsheng said with a sigh.
He had been navigating the circles of Beihai for many years, after all. He had at least a few connections.
"This is a society ruled by law now. Would that Hu Long really dare to act so recklessly?" Su Miaoke said, unconvinced after hearing her father’s words.
"My girl, you’re still too young. He won’t come after you openly, but he’ll stab you in the back," Su Linsheng sighed.
"Let’s eat first. Later, I’ll go find Sixth Master to mediate and resolve this peacefully," Su Linsheng said.
"Sixth Master? Is he also part of the Beihai scene?" Chu Feng asked curiously.
"Sixth Master is one of the top figures in Beihai City. He has a say in every aspect of Beihai," Su Linsheng explained.
"Dad, are you sure that will work? What if this Sixth Master is just like Hu Long?" Su Miaoke asked, a bit skeptical.
But Su Linsheng sighed and said, "Don’t worry. Sixth Master’s influence is far greater than you can imagine. Our company isn’t even on his radar."
"Let’s eat, let’s eat. After dinner, we’ll go visit Sixth Master together," Su Linsheng said.
After they finished their meal, the family of three left the Yunji Hotel.
"You two just follow me. Don’t say a word. I’ll do all the talking," Su Linsheng instructed.
