Chapter 183
Kate’s Point of View
"Thank you for having us for dinner. It was delicious," Ethan said. It was a little past eleven, and they were about to leave. They had stayed and looked at the photo albums and listened to my mom’s stories. They didn’t seem annoyed hanging out with my family, but they seemed happy. They were also very respectful to my family.
"We loved having you. You have to come again," my mom said
"We will," Ethan said
"I will walk you guys out," I said
"Okay, Princess," Ethan replied
"Thank you, guys, for staying tonight for dinner and treating my family nicely," I said
"You don’t have to thank us for that, Princess," Ethan said
"Yeah, we were happy we got to stay and spend more time with you," Nathan added, and I smiled. I could tell they were telling the truth.
"How about you come spend the day with us tomorrow, Princess?" Ethan said
"I have school tomorrow," I said
"Oh, right. Um, well, how about after school?" Nathan asked
"I have cheer after and won’t be done until late," I said. Ethan and Nathan looked sad that I would be too busy to spend time with them tomorrow.
"But I am available after school Tuesday," I said
"Good. Then we will pick you up from school on Tuesday," Nathan said
"That sounds good," I replied
Nathan hugged me and kissed the top of my head.
"I am going to miss you, Love."
"Me, too, Princess," Ethan added as he hugged me and kissed my cheek
"I am going to miss you too," I replied, and they left.
That night I didn’t get any sleep. All I could do was think about Ethan and Nathan and how much I wished they were by my side.
"Kate, Kate," Rose said, and I jumped as I woke up. We were in science class. I had fallen asleep while our teacher spoke. I was so sleepy. I had been up all night just thinking about Ethan and Nathan.
I guess everyone was not exaggerating when they said that once you found your mate, it would be hard to be without them. It had only been one night, and all I could do was think about them. I couldn’t sleep the night before, so now I was exhausted.
After class, Rose and I went outside to eat lunch. I needed to get some fresh air. Kayla and Ebony were sitting outside by a tree when we arrived.
"Hey," Ebony said
"Hey," I replied as I sat at the table.
"Hello," Rose said
"Oh, Kate. It seems like you didn’t sleep well last night," Ebony said
"No, I couldn’t sleep at all. I kept thinking about Ethan and Nathan the entire night. I am so tired, but I know that when I get home, I won’t be able to sleep either," I said, frustrated.
"Welcome to the club. I can’t sleep without Keith," Ebony said
"Yeah, I can’t sleep without Derek. It’s hard being away from him right now," Rose said
"Tell me about it. Keith and I make sure we don’t spend the night apart anymore. It’s better for us to go with each other whenever we have to go out of town or something. Otherwise we won’t be able to get anything done," Ebony said
"Yep, Derek and I also make sure we are always together now," Rose said
"I am the only one without a mate. It is not fair," Kayla said
"I am sure you will find your mate soon, Kayla," Rose said
"Maybe, or maybe I am not supposed to have a mate," Kayla said sadly. That made me feel sorry for her. I knew she always wanted a mate but still hadn’t found hers.
"You will find him," I said
"I have to go talk to the math teacher. I will see you later," Kayla said
"See ya," I replied
"Goodbye," Rose added, and Kayla left.
I yawned and stretched my arms.
"You are really tired, huh?" Rose said
"Yeah, honestly, I don’t know how much longer I am going to be able to go without being with Ethan and Nathan. I can’t sleep without them," I said
"Have you ever thought about moving to the Redmoon Pack with them?" Ebony asked, and I looked at her
"What? I can’t do that. I don’t want to leave my home," I said
"I know, but they are your mates, and you can’t live without them. I am sure they are going through the same thing, not being with you. Plus, I am sure you want to be with them; you are just afraid of leaving home," Ebony said. She was right. I kept thinking about how much better it would be if Ethan, Nathan, and I stayed together, but they lived in a whole other pack. I didn’t want to leave my family.
"Deep down, what do you really want to do, Kate? Is there a part of you that wants to stay with them?" Rose asked
I didn’t even have to think about it. There was a part of me that wanted to stay with Ethan and Nathan. Honestly, that part was bigger than the part that wanted to stay in the Bloodmoon Pack. I just shook my head.
"Yes, there is a big part of me that wants to stay with them, but I know my parents would be heartbroken if I told them that," I said
"Kate, I get it. You don’t want to hurt your parents’ feelings, but Ethan and Nathan are your mates, and you need each other. Don’t decide for your parents. You need to make it for you," Kate said, and I knew she was right.
