Chapter 167
Kate’s POV
Ebony and I walked into the backyard, where everyone was talking. As I tried to find my dad, my mom approached me. "There you are. Come on, Derek is planning on proposing to Rose," My mom said
"Mom, I need to talk to you and Dad about something real quick," I said
"Whatever it is can wait. Come on," My mom said, grabbing my hand and walking towards the table where Rose, Derek, my dad, Rose’s brother, Rose’s mom, Rose’s dad, and Rose’s grandma were sitting. I sat between Rose and my mom. I looked to where Keith and Ebony were seated to see my Mates sitting there staring at me.
After Derek proposed and Rose accepted, everyone cheered. About an hour later, everyone started to leave. Most were staying in hotels and would be back for the Mating and Marking Ceremony that was taking place the next night.
"Mom and Dad, I really need to speak to you about something," I said
"What do you need to speak to us about, Sweetheart?" My dad asked
"Can we talk somewhere private?" I asked. Rose and Derek were dancing, and I didn’t want Derek to overhear that the Red Moon Alphas were my Mates. I didn’t want to mess up their night. My mom and dad looked at each other with worried expressions on their faces.
"Is something wrong?" My mom asked
"No, well, not really. I mean.." I was having a problem with getting my words out. I didn’t know how to tell them who my Mates were and that I had two of them; the smell of Pine and wood took over my senses. Soon Ethan and Nathan were standing beside me.
"Hello, Mr Smith. It is nice to see you again," the twin with the blue eyes said
"Hi. It is nice to see the two of you as well, but if you could excuse me, my Mate and I need to speak with our daughter," My dad said
"I am sorry, but we can’t do that. What your daughter has to say has something to do with my brother and me, and we should be there with her when she tells you," the same twin said, and my dad looked at him, then his brother, and then me.
"Is that true, Kate?" My dad asked, and I nodded. I couldn’t look him in the eyes because I was nervous and worried he would be upset with me.
"How about we head to your office, Uncle Michael," Ebony said as she and Keith walked over to us.
"Okay, let’s go," My mom said after a moment of silence, and we all walked to my dad’s office. I could feel tingles from how close the twins were to me. It took everything inside of me not to touch them. Their scent and closeness were sending different thoughts through my head.
Once we arrived at my dad’s office, My dad, mom, and I sat next to each other at his desk while Nathan and Ethan sat across from us. Ebony and Keith sat on the couch in the corner of his office.
"Okay, what’s going on?" My dad asked, looking at me. Ethan and Nathan were also looking at me.
"Mom and Dad, I have something to tell you, and it has something to do with the Red Moon Alphas," I said
"We figured that, Kate. Just tell us what you need to tell us," My mom said.
"Well, I, um, I mean," I said, unable to get the words out.
"What is it, Kate?" My mom asked worriedly
"Oh, My Goddess. Are they your Mates?" My dad asked, and I nodded.
"Wait a minute. They are both your Mates," My mom asked, and I nodded. "Hold on. The Red Moon Alphas are your Mates?" My mom asked
"Lisa, we already know the answer to that, Sweetheart," My dad said, and my mom sighed.
"Look, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I know this must be a lot for you to take in, but yes, my brother Nathan and I are your daughter, Kate’s Mates. We want to let you know that we accept your daughter and are not going to let her go. We know that she is shocked that we are her Mates, which is understandable. We don’t plan on making her move in with us right now, but we do want to get to know her," Ethan said, and my dad sighed.
"Do you mind if we have a moment with our daughter alone?" My dad asked
"Of course, we will wait outside," Ethan said, and he stood up.
"Nathan, let our Mates parents talk to her alone," Ethan said. Nathan’s eyes were on me, and I knew he didn’t want to leave me alone with them, but he listened to his brother.
"Okay, but we are right outside," Nathan said, not taking his eyes off of me, and they walked out of the office along with Ebony and Keith.
"Kate," My mom said, and I broke down crying like a child.
"I am so sorry. I know you two are upset with me for having the Red Moon Alphas as my Mates," I cried, and my mom hugged me tightly.
"Oh, Honey, we are not upset with you," My mom said, shocking me.
"You’re not?" I asked, looking at my mom and then my dad.
"Of course not, Sweetheart. The Moon Goddess made them your Mates for a reason. I take it you plan on accepting them as your Mates," My dad asked.
"It hurts just thinking about rejecting them. I know I won’t be able to live with myself if I reject them," I replied
"Okay, then we are behind you one hundred percent. I will need to get to know them before I trust them with you, especially with all the rumors going on about them," My dad said
"Yeah, I want to get to know them as well," I replied
"Okay, well, it is settled. Let’s go outside and talk to your Mates," My mom said, and we headed out of my dad’s office. I felt much better knowing my parents weren’t disappointed in me for having the Red Moon Alpha Twins as my Mate. It was nice knowing they had my back no matter what.
