My Undead Legion Kills God's

Chapter 127: Let’s Fight.

The Eidolons collided recklessly with the wooden wall, threatening to bring it down with brute force. The entire structure shook with every impact, the wooden beams creaking under the pressure as more and more Eidolons threw themselves against it.

The humans atop the wall began to fire arrows down at them, releasing one volley after another. Others grabbed rocks of ice, some almost the size of boulders, and threw them over the edge. The chunks of frozen stone crashed into the mass below, crushing Eidolons beneath their weight and scattering others across the snow.

But there were too many of them.

The Eidolons didn’t slow down. Even when arrows pierced their bodies and ice crushed them into the ground, the others simply climbed over their corpses and continued forward.

The Chief’s roar propelled even greater madness from the attacking Eidolons. His voice thundered across the battlefield, drowning out the cries of both humans and Eidolons as the entire horde surged towards the wooden wall.

Elias watched the wall shake beneath another impact before turning towards Andrea.

"The wooden wall can’t hold them. We shouldn’t risk using it as a reliable defensive position. We should just move along with the plan," Elias said to Andrea, but before she could respond, a familiar figure approached.

It was a tall man with long black hair.

Micah was wearing fitted leather armour with a short sword at his side. Unlike nearly everyone else still standing around them, he was completely pristine and clean. There wasn’t a single mark on his armour, nor any blood on his clothes, which made it obvious that he hadn’t been part of any of the fighting.

"The evacuation is officially complete. We’re ready to move out."

Micah froze when he realised that Seris was standing right there.

His eyes moved towards her for a moment, considering the evacuation was already complete, he hadn’t expected her to still be here.

"Oh, hey, Seris."

Seris simply waved.

"Hi, Micah."

Micah gave her an awkward look before glancing back towards the battlefield.

Andrea strengthened her back, forcing herself to stand properly despite her injuries. The battle had already taken enough from everyone, and she knew there was no reason to keep the weaker members of the camp in danger.

"If you guys can leave, then please do so. You being here no longer have any meaning in the grand scheme of things, especially you, Seris. Time to go."

This time, Seris couldn’t argue with the way things currently stood.

She had already done what she could. The injured had been treated, the evacuation was complete, and Andrea was preparing for a battle that would be far more dangerous than anything that had happened so far.

The only way Seris could help Andrea now was by getting out of her way. Her presence would no doubt only distract and potentially endanger Andrea further.

Seris remained silent.

Elias’ skin gradually began to change until he was more metal than man. The transformation spread across his body, replacing flesh with hardened metal until his entire appearance had changed. Even his voice became different when he spoke.

"Andrea is right. Only high-level Awakened can participate in the next battle."

Elias then turned towards Claire, who had just materialised out of thin air.

"But you all have a choice, if you wish to stay or not."

The battlefield continued to shake behind them as another group of Eidolons crashed into the wooden wall.

The decision was theirs to make. After a short silence, Claire shook her head. "I have already sent my brother away. There’s no reason for me to be here. I’m leaving."

Andrea nodded gratefully.

Elias faced Andrea. "Jackson is already down there. I believe I will be more useful up here, fighting against the Chief and his army."

Andrea had expected that from Elias. He had always been especially responsible, carrying the burdens of people he didn’t even know. In a way, he was like her, except Elias did it with a genuinely pure heart. He never seemed to question whether someone deserved his help before giving it.

Andrea was grateful for that.

"What about Enzo and Ryan?" Andrea suddenly asked, realizing that neither of them was there.

Claire shook her head. "Enzo was killed in combat, and Ryan was severely wounded by the Chief. He should be on his way out of the camp by now."

Silence settled over them again.

There was nothing Andrea could say about Enzo. He had died fighting just like hundreds of other men and women, just because he was stronger doesn’t make him more entitled. As for Ryan, if he was already leaving the camp, then there was still a chance he would survive.

Andrea looked at Claire. "You should leave too. And you too, Micah. You’re a utility-type Awakened. You shouldn’t be here in the first place."

Micah nodded, but instead of leaving, he quickly reached out and handed Andrea a glowing orb.

Andrea recognized it immediately.

It was one of his beacons.

The ability could only be used once per day, and they had initially agreed that Micah would save it for emergencies. If the evacuation failed and they found themselves trapped, he could use the beacon to teleport everyone out of the camp.

"What are you doing? I don’t need that," Andrea said indifferently.

Micah didn’t let her refuse this time.

"Everyone will make it out, except you and Elias. Hold on to it, just in case."

Andrea frowned slightly.

She didn’t approve of the idea. If Micah used his beacon on her, he would have nothing left for himself if something went wrong. But he wasn’t pulling his hand away, and after staring at him for a few seconds, Andrea finally relented.

She took the beacon and stored it inside her utility belt.

"Fine."

Micah nodded before finally turning away, but not before dragging Seris along with him. Claire followed closely behind as the men stationed on the wall began to gradually retreat as well.

"Yuri, you’re the only one fast enough to light the fuse and make an escape".

She nodded and flashed away, there was nobody left standing there except Andrea and Elias.

"Did you think it would be just the two of us left standing?"

Andrea didn’t answer for some time.

When she finally did, her voice was decisively cold.

"No. I thought everyone would be dead by now, and I would be wandering the frozen wasteland, hunting down whatever remained of the Eidolons."

Elias chuckled lightly. "This is why I trust you so much. You’ve always been more focused than the rest of us. You accepted the reality of our dilemma and mastered your Dormant Ability while most of us were still struggling to understand what was real and what was fake. You started fighting all by yourself, even when you had no idea if there was a way out or not. That’s what makes you the strongest human."

Andrea shrugged and craned her neck in his direction. "Elias, of course there’s a way out. You guys just waited for Allen’s Soul Sight to tell you instead of using your heads. This world isn’t random. It may be cruel to us, but it also follows its own set of rules."

His brows furrowed. "What rules? It seems awfully interested in killing us all. Back when we first came here, it didn’t even respond to some of us and simply allowed us to die."

"That’s because it’s fair..."

She stepped forward and gazed past the army of Eidolons, straight at the approaching Chief. His wounds were now closed, and he was no longer limping, although it was difficult to differentiate his red fur from the blood covering his body.

"These creatures can advance just like us, and I believe the Tower of Mysteries might be adopting us in some way, or it’s convinced that we belong here. Hence why it called us in the first place. That gate you walked through wasn’t randomly made. It was there specifically for you...

The undead told me that his gate followed him for months before he finally decided to walk through it."

Elias was taken aback. "Are you trying to say that we were chosen for some grand mission by the Tower?"

Andrea turned and faced him. "Now that’s absolute nonsense. There’s no way we’re here to save or kill anyone. The best I can think of is some bored deity decided to play a game with all our lives."

Elias’s face froze.

He couldn’t help but burst out laughing. He knew Andrea was blunt, but this was definitely another level of pragmatism.

"Seriously?" he asked between laughs. "That’s your conclusion?"

Andrea shrugged. "Do you have a better one?"

Elias stopped laughing. He thought about it for a few seconds before shaking his head.

"Andrea, let’s not die. I want us to win this, go back home, and be celebrated for our accomplishments."

Andrea’s face became slightly pained as she thought of the human world, but it lasted only for a passing moment. Elias didn’t even notice the sudden change.

She lifted her head and sighed lightly.

"Let’s fight."
