Chapter 75: Alora, jealousy is bigger than love
Venus finally calmed down as she apologized to both her mother and grandmother for making such a decision. "Alora was of great help. I never thought the sister whom I always cursed would stand one day to protect me," she said in a low voice. Her heart was heavy with the overwhelming emotions that she gathered in her heart all this time.
"We cannot let her stay in such a marriage any more then," Madam Aubrey said. "Lying to us about their werewolf identities is their biggest mistake. And why did Alora not tell us about it that very day? At least, you would be unmarried than a divorced woman."
It was a clear taunt from the old woman to her granddaughter.
"Grandma, I thought I would die in that marriage. That’s why I decided to make such a decision," Venus said while keeping her gaze low. "Alora did warn me, but I was jealous of her, Grandma. She got Prince Magnus as her husband, so I thought it would not be a problem if my husband is a werewolf."
She had always blamed Alora for her fate. But this time, it was she, who refused to listen to Alora, who merely wanted to help her as an elder sister. Tears dropped down her eyes and fell on her cheeks.
Madam’s Aubrey heart broke to see her granddaughter’s state. She never anticipated that Alora would be useful to them and help Venus get freed from Venus.
Rhea gazed at her mother-in-law because in her eyes Madam Aubrey was the reason why Venus began despising Alora. As a mother, Rhea was truly heartbroken to see that her second daughter’s marriage failed.
"Venus, I’m glad you took the right decision and left Eugene. As long as we all are alive, you don’t need to feel burdened. Once your father returns, I will talk to him about a formal divorce procedure for you and Eugene," Rhea proclaimed while keeping her hand on Venus’s shoulder.
"Thank you, Mother, for understanding me," Venus said and told them she would like to rest. "I couldn’t sleep the entire night, Mother," she murmured.
