Chapter 76: No woman shall undergo that pain
Alora sat in front of the desk, lost in deep contemplation, her thoughts swirling as she practiced writing for half an hour. Despite her hopes, Magnus had yet to return.
"Did he go out to take fresh blood from someone?" she wondered aloud, recalling Izaak’s earlier words about Magnus’s unique nature. Unlike the other old vampires who had a firm control over their bloodlust, Magnus was different. His cravings would intensify during events of the moon, triggering a heightened bloodlust that was harder to resist.
"But there’s something about my eyes that helps Magnus regain his control," Alora murmured to herself, her mind consumed by thoughts of the mysterious power hidden within her gaze. Leaning back in her chair, she contemplated the truth behind her unusual ability.
Suddenly, the door swung open, startling Alora and drawing her attention to it. Her eyes widened with relief and excitement as Magnus stepped into the room.
"Magnus!" Alora exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with joy at the sight of him.
"Did I keep you waiting for too long?" Magnus asked as he entered the room, his voice filled with concern.
"No, not at all," Alora replied, setting the quill pen down on the desk before rising from her seat. She approached Magnus, her expression soft with worry as she inquired about his well-being.
"I satisfied my thirst earlier," Magnus reassured her. "I know you wish for me to drink from you, but your blood only intensifies my hunger instead of satiating it. I find it difficult to resist," he explained, his hand gently brushing away stray strands of hair from her temple as he spoke.
"Shall we retire to bed, or would you like to continue studying?" Magnus inquired, trying to know Alora’s preferences.
