Chapter 93 | Back At Home [1st GT & Gift Bonus - s]

An extremely massive mansion lay within an ever stretching estate that radiated wealth and power.

Deep within the mansion was a massive room with toys and figurines of superheroes lined the shelves in countless rows.

And at the center of it all sat a thirteen years old, hunched over a desk, his pen moving steadily across paper as he did his assignments.

Soft music played in the background. The kids head bobbed rhythmically to the beat, completely absorbed in his work, oblivious to the world around him.

It was at that moment something happened.

The space itself seemed to fracture, the void rippling like disturbed water until it tore open.

From within that shifting void, a figure emerged and he stepped silently into the room, appearing directly behind the boy.

The kid didn’t seem to notice him as he continued bobbing his head to the music, writing his assignments, lost in his own world.

The man, however, did not advance further as his eyes glinted when he stared at the back of the youths head.

Suddenly —

THUD!

His knees hit the ground as he fell on his knees, bowed his head to stare at the ground as his body trembled violently like a kid caught stealing meat from the pot at midnight.

It was a shocking sight!

An ultra-rank expert actually kneeling on the ground, trembling before a thirteen-year-old boy as though he were a god.

He said nothing, it was as though he did not dare.

The boy continued working on his assignment as minutes passed.

Ten, twenty, then thirty.

For nearly half an hour, the man remained face-down on the floor, motionless except for his trembling body, waiting. The boy’s pen never stopped. His head never ceased its nodding to the music.

Finally, the youth yawned and stretched lazily then he set his pen down.

His eyes lifted from the assignment, but he did not turn to the man. Instead, he reached toward the speaker beside him and adjusted the music, changing the track with a casual flick of his fingers.

Suddenly, he spoke in a childish, almost playful tone.

"You failed."

The words hung in the air like a death sentence.

The man’s face drained of color instantly. Sweat erupted across his brow, his body pressing harder into the floor as though the weight of those two words had physically crushed him.

"Voss," the boy continued, his voice still carrying that unsettling youthful lightness. "You truly disappointed me."

Without hesitation, Ross threw himself onto the floor, prostrating so deeply that his forehead struck the polished marble.

"I... I deserve punishment, Sire," Ross said, his voice trembling.

Despite being an Ultra-Rank expert capable of making countless people kneel with a glance...

His breathing turned ragged. An ultra-rank expert, reduced to a trembling wreck by a child’s words.

It was a shocking sight.

The boy ignored him. He bobbed his head to the new track playing through the speaker,

His hands flying as he pretend rap to follow the music. The Ultra rank expert didn’t dare to live as he waited patiently.

The youth finally stopped fake rappinb and he chuckled as he said in an amused tone.

"Think Voss, and give me a reason why you failed. You have only ten words to save your filthy life."

Ross slowly lifted himself from the floor but did not stand fully. He remained on his knees, head bowed, as he reached into his clothing and produced a phone.

The phone screen was cracked and pathetic.

He quickly played a video and spoke with trembling tone.

"Here’s my reason, Sire."

He stretched out his hands towards the kid. The kid turned with a raised eye brow and took the phone from his hand.

He played it the video.

The recording showed an unclear figure using a single flaming strike killing a dark cloth man and then using flame breathe to kill another man.

The image wasn’t clear, the resolution poor and low quality but the events were unmistakable.

The figure who was Dexter had killed the assassins one after the other.

The boy’s eyes finally left the screen.

He turned to look at Ross for the first time.

...

Dexter pushed open the front door and stepped inside. Almost immediately, he stopped.

Something was wrong.

The moment Dexter stepped through the front door, he stopped.

"...Hmm?"

A faint smell lingered in the air and Dexter immediately recognized it was smoke.

The smoke had been cleared but the smell of burnt stuffs could still be smelt.

Dexter sniffed the air before frowning.

Someone tried cooking...

His first thought was that the girls must have gotten hungry while he was away.

"I’m home," he called out.

Receiving no reply, he walked into the living room and the sight that greeted him made him pause.

The three girls were seated on the couch, Selene, and Lyra while Mira was seated in her wheelchair, beside them.

They weren’t watching television nor were they cultivating.

They were just sitting there, side by side, staring directly at him.

The three girls stared at him without blinking, It was as though they had been waiting for him.

Dexter raised an eyebrow. "You guys need something for me?" he asked, his tone casual despite the strangeness of the scene.

Mira said nothing. Her expression remained flat, unreadable.

It was Selene who spoke first.

"Yes," she muttered in a small voice. "We were waiting for you."

Dexter blinked, puzzled by them suddenly caring about him and replied. "I’m alright. The licensing went really well with no accident." Of course he was lying through his teeth.

Changing the subject. "Did you girls cook something?" he asked with concern.

"Were you hungry? You should have just asked me to make something for you."

Mira rolled her eyes.

"We tried to cook something for you, obviously we failed." she said flatly, falling at him with the corner of her eye.

Dexter stared at her.

They tried to cook something... for him?

He was stunned. The girls had been distant and guarded toward him. He had always been the one taking care of them.

Cooking, cleaning, buying supplies and making sure they were comfortable.

He had never expected them to try doing something for him. The fact that they had attempted to do something for him felt strange and surprising.
