Fast and Furious: I Control Everything

Chapter 288: The Battle Begins

At ten o'clock that night, the wait was finally over.

The three of them had all changed appearances considerably compared with before.

Perkins looked at herself in the mirror and could not help raising an eyebrow.

"I never would have thought you could do makeup too, and it is actually pretty good."

"Seriously, what can't you do?"

Jane, too, was looking at her own transformed appearance nearby.

When her gaze casually fell on Hunter, the smile in her eyes seemed even stronger.

Hunter ignored Perkins and kept sitting at the table, his hands moving rapidly over the laptop in front of him.

Earlier, after taking a walk outside, he had slipped into a guest room on the floor below.

Using his computer skill, which had now reached Level 4, along with the hacking techniques he had learned from Livingston, Hunter hijacked the hotel surveillance system and was now trying to break into the hotel's backend operating system.

He planned to temporarily freeze the surveillance on floors 25 through 28 using footage recorded years ago.

In truth, that would not last very long.

By Hunter's conservative estimate, once the battle started, the hotel would react within just a few minutes.

But for the first wave, when they infiltrated the twenty-fifth floor, it would save them a lot of trouble.

"Done."

Hunter finally finished everything.

As the laptop in front of him began showing surveillance images from floors 24 through 28, he immediately said to Jane and Perkins, who were already prepared, "Alright, let's go."

"Mm."

The three of them had already changed clothes, put on their body armor, and arranged their other weapons properly.

They quickly walked to the elevator and waited for it to arrive before pressing for the twenty-fourth floor.

Once inside, the three of them headed straight for the twenty-fourth floor.

Inside the elevator, Hunter gave his final instructions.

"I'll handle suppressing the people near the stairwell."

"Jane, you two push up through the emergency stairwell and continue assaulting toward the twenty-sixth floor."

"Once you get to the twenty-sixth, move quickly to the private elevator that goes straight up to the twenty-eighth floor."

"Then attach the jammer there so Frank D'Amico and his family cannot use the elevator to escape."

"I'll take care of the twenty-fifth floor. I'll clear it as fast as I can and then come up to meet you."

Most of Frank D'Amico's men normally stayed on the twenty-fifth floor, so that floor was the most dangerous one.

Hunter took the most dangerous task on himself, and Jane and Perkins, who had seen his skills, had no objections.

"Alright."

"No problem."

"Good. See you in a bit."

The elevator soon arrived at the twenty-fourth floor.

The three of them all put on their robber masks and stepped out.

After ten o'clock at night, very few people were wandering around the Paris Hotel.

The three of them quickly reached the emergency stairwell.

Since the surveillance on floors 24 through 28 had been hijacked, they did not bother avoiding the cameras inside the building.

They moved quickly to the stairwell, opened the door, and went down to the twenty-fifth floor.

When they pushed the door open, they found, as expected, that the emergency stairwell had been locked.

There was also a surveillance camera above the door.

Clearly, the drug lord Frank D'Amico was even more cautious than Hunter had expected.

Hunter reached into his pocket, pulled out a wire, and quickly opened the lock.

But he did not rush out.

Instead, he gave Jane and Perkins a look.

Jane and Perkins immediately understood and followed Hunter up to the twenty-sixth floor.

Reaching the entrance to the stairwell, Hunter skillfully opened it with the wire.

"Once I start causing trouble on the twenty-fifth, then you go into the twenty-sixth."

"And be careful."

He said that to Jane and Perkins.

Jane raised the short submachine gun in her hand and said nothing.

Perkins also shook the dual UZIs in her hands, full of confidence.

As top-level assassins, Jane and Perkins were clearly very confident in their own abilities.

Hunter did not waste any more words.

He quickly descended back to the twenty-fifth-floor stairwell.

Holding the suppressed MP5 hanging from his neck, he pushed open the door and entered the twenty-fifth floor.

The moment the door opened, the bright lights of the twenty-fifth floor immediately exposed the hallway to Hunter's eyes.

Right away, he saw two men in black suits guarding the elevator on the opposite side of the corridor.

The emergency stairwell door faced that direction.

So the instant Hunter stepped out, one of them noticed him immediately.

The cigarette in his mouth dropped to the floor.

"Enem—"

Before he could finish shouting, a bullet hole appeared in his forehead.

Hunter rushed out of the stairwell and immediately pulled the trigger on the MP5.

After maxing out his shooting skill, he had gained an incredible passive ability: any target he could see, so long as it was within the weapon's effective range, could be hit.

That strange and overbearing passive made Hunter capable of landing shots with perfect accuracy.

The fall of his companion startled the other man.

He immediately shouted, "Intruder—ah!"

Amid a burst of gunfire, the other guard near the elevator also fell.

Hunter quickly closed in on the elevator while taking a small box from his chest.

After scanning the area and confirming which elevator could go directly to the twenty-eighth floor, he quickly attached the small box to the elevator's button panel.

That small box was a jammer he had bought from the Continental.

It could emit electronic interference signals, briefly disrupting the elevator's electrical components and preventing it from operating normally.

After disabling the elevator, Hunter immediately spoke into his communicator.

"I've jammed the elevator successfully. You do not need to go over there anymore."

He had originally thought there would be many of Frank D'Amico's men on the twenty-fifth floor.

But he had overlooked the fact that it was already past ten at night, and most of D'Amico's men were asleep.

"Got it."

Jane's voice came through the earpiece right away.

Hunter did not say anything else.

His sharp hearing caught a burst of noisy footsteps.

Looking at the two dead drug lord guards, he noticed that both of them had radios.

He could not help but sigh.

Hunter knew then that a hard fight was about to begin.

Sure enough, after several curses and shouted questions, six or seven figures soon ran over from the large lounge on one side of the twenty-fifth floor.

The moment they saw Hunter, they immediately opened fire.

Bang.

Boom.

Rat-a-tat-tat.

Handguns, shotguns, and submachine guns all erupted at once.

Then several more doors were hurriedly opened.

More than a dozen drug lord thugs, still half-dressed and carrying weapons, rushed out.

The dense hail of bullets instantly pinned Hunter down near the elevator entrance, leaving him unable to show himself.

He sighed and reached for a grenade on his waist.

"I thought I would not need this so soon."

But with so many of Frank D'Amico's men stationed on the twenty-fifth floor, he really would not have been able to handle them easily without it.

He pulled the pin.

After counting a few seconds in his head, Hunter suddenly hurled the grenade out.

Boom!

Amid the explosion, Hunter quickly dashed out, the suppressed MP5 in his hands blazing as he sprayed bullets wildly.

Very soon, all of the dozen or so drug lord gunmen were taken out.

But the shouting and footsteps in his ears did not decrease.

They only increased.

Hunter knew the real battle had only just begun.
