Chapter 287: Paris Hotel
The Paris Hotel was one of the luxury five-star properties under New York drug lord Frank D'Amico.
At dusk, inside a room on the fifteenth floor.
After Hunter had gone out for a while and came back carrying a bottle of red wine and several servings of food, the room was arranged in a very clear, strictly separated way.
There was absolutely none of the indecent group activity outsiders might have imagined.
"Eat something first."
Hunter placed two steaks beside Jane and Perkins, each on one end of the sofa.
The steaks were still wrapped in foil, and once he tore them open a little, an enticing aroma immediately filled the room.
Jane and Perkins both inhaled once or twice, and neither could help but start craving it.
"You made this?"
Compared with Perkins, who had not eaten much of Hunter's cooking before, Jane had been living with him for quite some time.
She was not very good at cooking herself, and with Hunter's physical abilities increasing so much lately, after they were intimate she would often feel exhausted and weak.
Naturally, cooking had fallen to Hunter.
Because of that, Jane had already eaten quite a few meals he had personally made.
So just by smelling the aroma, she could tell it had been made by Hunter.
Hunter smiled and nodded, but did not elaborate.
The steaks really had been made by him, and then stored in his private space.
The private space could not store goods, but dead objects placed inside could remain at a constant temperature.
So if he cooked food and then put it away for a while before taking it back out, it would still be as if it had just been stored.
On top of that, his cooking skill had already been at Level 5 for quite some time.
To make that skill reach max level sooner, whenever he had free time to cook, he liked to make extra portions.
Besides, his private space had been getting larger and larger, so food stored inside would not spoil.
And as his cooking improved, he increasingly found it hard to tolerate the uneven quality of food made by restaurants outside.
Jane saw that Hunter had no intention of explaining further, so she lowered her head and enjoyed the food he had made without asking more.
Perkins, however, after smelling the aroma, looked almost intoxicated.
"Did you make this just now? Did you use the hotel kitchen?"
Hunter cut off a piece of steak and put it in his mouth.
"If you are curious, I can take you to the kitchen after the mission is done."
Perkins rolled her eyes at him, but did not continue the topic either, and started enjoying the food made by Hunter's Level 5 cooking skill.
The Paris Hotel was the target of their assassination mission this time.
It was one of New York drug lord Frank D'Amico's properties, and also the place where he lived.
The Paris Hotel had twenty-eight floors, of which only the lower twenty-four were open to guests.
The four floors above that, from the twenty-fifth upward, were where Frank D'Amico and his men lived.
If the intelligence Hunter had obtained from the Continental was accurate, then the twenty-fifth floor should be full of Frank D'Amico's men.
The three floors above that, from the twenty-sixth upward, were his office and the place where his family lived, decorated in extravagant luxury.
The hotel had four elevators in total.
Two were for guests and could only reach the twenty-fourth floor.
Those two did not require identity verification, but there was always an employee inside to press the buttons for guests.
One elevator was for staff and required hotel employee credentials in order to reach the twenty-fifth floor.
Hotel staff who wanted to go higher had to switch to yet another elevator, and only with Frank D'Amico's men watching them could they enter the upper floors.
"So that means the whole hotel really only has one elevator that is exclusively for Frank D'Amico, his family, and his men, and it can go all the way to the twenty-eighth floor?"
The three of them ate while listening to Hunter explain the information he had gathered on the hotel.
Hunter nodded and kept gesturing over the map laid out in front of him.
"Frank D'Amico is the suspicious type. He is extremely cautious."
"Even toward his own men, he does not fully trust them."
"So most of his men, even if they are there to protect him, are usually only allowed to operate on the twenty-fifth floor."
"The twenty-sixth floor is Frank D'Amico's office. There is a conference room, and supposedly also a bar and a large restaurant."
"The twenty-seventh floor is supposedly where he works out, with all sorts of fitness and training equipment."
"Frank D'Amico worked his way up from a small nobody with sheer ruthlessness, so he never forgot to keep himself in shape."
"It is said that he knows karate and judo, and even some Chinese martial arts."
"The twenty-eighth floor is definitely where his family lives."
"As for the exact layout above the twenty-sixth floor, we do not know."
"It is said that anyone who has been up there was put under a gag order, and the Continental cannot figure it out in the short term either."
Even Hunter had to admit that Frank D'Amico, who had become one of the biggest drug lords in New York and even in the United States, was able to survive and keep growing precisely because of that caution and suspicion.
This time, in order to help his future father-in-law Damon McQuaid and his daughter Mindy take down this hard bone, Hunter really would have to put in some effort.
Jane quickly finished eating, then drank a glass of red wine and opened the suitcase she had brought.
She took out her usual weapons and did a final inspection and calibration.
Perkins had already worked with Hunter twice and knew that with him around there was no big problem, so she directly asked, "Do you still have grenades? Give me some later."
Hunter nodded, took out a suitcase he had brought, and opened it.
Inside were twelve grenades and flashbangs.
"Two grenades and two flashbangs each. Use them carefully."
"This is New York. If we make too much noise, it could cause problems."
"After all, the United Nations headquarters is only a little more than twenty kilometers away."
Perkins took the two grenades and the flashbangs.
She had rarely used explosives before.
But last time in Las Vegas, if Hunter had not given her grenades, her injuries would have been several times worse.
The three of them had entered the Paris Hotel disguised as tourists.
Now they each opened the suitcases they had brought.
Jane usually used handguns. She was also good at sniping, but within twenty or thirty meters her shooting was almost perfect, making her excellent in close-quarters assault.
Considering that Frank D'Amico had quite a few men, Jane also brought a short submachine gun.
Perkins' close-range shooting was also highly accurate. She strapped four handguns onto herself and also took two UZI submachine guns.
As for Hunter, although he was doing this partly to cover for his private space, he only strapped on two handguns and carried one MP5 submachine gun fitted with a suppressor, plus two drum magazines that could each hold one hundred rounds.
One drum was in a backpack and the other was on the gun.
If that was not enough, Hunter could still find a chance to pull out another MP5 with a suppressor and full drum magazine from his private space.
Among the three, he was actually the one with the most ferocious firepower.
After they each finished checking their weapons, Hunter looked at the time and said, "We start makeup and disguise at nine. We move out at ten."
"After that, we still have the last two hours. Get some good rest."
