At the cafeteria, both Ray and Samantha felt extremely bloated in the stomach.

"After a long day of work, it feels good to eat." Ray rubbed his belly and yawned.

"I also cannot eat anymore." Samantha exhaled.

"How’s your mana then?"

"I’ve recovered enough."

Thump!

As soon as Samantha claimed to have recovered enough, Ray placed the magic chessboard.

With the magic chessboard out, Samantha’s relaxed expression also changed to a serious one.

"Looks like you’re ready to lose this time." She sneered coldly.

With her mana replenished and the rules explained, she wouldn’t allow Ray to pull that ridiculous one-move checkmate again.

"Is that so?" Ray smirked coldly and offered a bet. "How about this? If I win, you will obey me for the first semester, and of course, it wouldn’t be anything inappropriate."

"Then what if I win?" Samantha was certain she would win this time, so she didn’t even care about his ridiculous condition.

"If you win, then I will pay for all your meals, and I will write off the debt you owe me."

"Deal!"

Upon knowing that she wouldn’t have to pay the 20 gold coins, Samantha was filled with joy already.

’Oh dear, she’s in big trouble.’ Belva closed her eyes and knew the outcome already.

A far distance from the cafeteria, George finally got a clearer understanding of William.

"Oh, so that’s why you were hanging out with the Fourth Prince. I really thought you were another one of his lackeys since you followed him so closely." George explained.

"Was that why so many people were giving me weird glances?" William scratched his head.

He didn’t understand that just interacting with someone automatically converted him into a lackey.

He had simply thought of Sylas as an acquaintance, and that relationship turned sour because he couldn’t stand the latter’s behavior.

"You seem really naive in this aspect." George shook his head. This kind of personality would easily attract friendship, as well as enemies, if one is not careful enough.

’He’s interesting, but not that interesting when compared to Raymond.’ George thought to himself.

’Oh, right, I forgot that Raymond is also quite mischievous. He added laxatives to the food that was offered to Samantha. Oh well, I didn’t sense any bad vibe from Raymond, so it should be fine.’

George had wondered if he should inform Samantha about it, but he also found it weird that Ray would do it in front of his eyes.

Was he not afraid of him snitching?

Or did he really have that much trust in him to keep silent?

It could have also been a test to see if he was a busybody.

Either way, George decided not to interfere and just wait for the news later on once he got the blueprint drafted to be delivered to him at his dorm.

"Anyway, William, you should probably head to the regular cafeteria if you’re no longer associating with the Fourth Prince. That cafeteria he was bringing you alone has to be paid for and is mainly for seniors."

George gave him a final piece of advice before leaving.

"Thank you, Senior George." William gave his gratitude and checked out the map to the regular cafeteria. He was also somewhat hungry from all the traveling and training practice he had done earlier with Sylas.

’Looks like the Fourth Prince isn’t a good person.’ He made a mental note to himself and must be cautious when making friends in the future.

While one might appear righteous and heroic, their intention might not always be good.

’Right, I should also apologize to Raymond for my actions.’ William came to realize he had misunderstood the former twice in a row.

’He probably wasn’t a bad guy but was framed by others.’ He concluded.

Back at the cafeteria, Samantha’s face began sweating a lot as she picked up a bishop piece and captured Ray’s knight.

’What is going on here?’ She pursed her lips and clutched her stomach tightly. She could feel her stomach aching terribly. She tried to use mana to soothe the pain, but it only aggravated the discomfort further.

In the meantime, Ray’s expression remained unchanged on the surface even though his knight piece was captured.

After all, he was confident that someone was about to be kicked out of the game by default. This game was never fair to begin with. He would never bet on something he had no guarantee of.

’Hehe, looking at her sweat, I bet the laxatives are working wonderfully.’ Ray sneered inwardly.

In a real battle, nobody cared how honorable one fought. All they cared about was who won.

History was written by the winner, and not by the loser.

To summarize, a winner who could be the most despicable villainous bastard, but could manipulate the history book to depict him as the most righteous instead.

In contrast, the loser who may have fought honorably and with full integrity would be depicted as the rebellious villain who wanted to take power for themselves.

How would the later generation know if the history was manipulated and those who tried to speak the truth were silenced?

Once a majority group accepted the history as factual, no matter what the remaining survivors tried to argue, everyone would just turn a deaf ear to them.

After all, to go against the predetermined story was to go against the current and risk death for not just themselves but their family as well.

"C-Can we pause the game for a moment?" Finally, Samantha could no longer endure the stomach pain and felt the need to use the restroom.

"No can do!" Ray refused adamantly.

"You think I’m going to give you time to think and stall? We’ve agreed on a timer being placed and that we each have 30 seconds to think before making a move. Otherwise, it’s a default loss."

"Then why aren’t you making a move immediately?" She hissed coldly.

"I still have 15 seconds left to think." Ray shrugged and smiled wickedly.
