Chapter 503: Being Watched (Part 1)
The person Cao Yuqing apologized to smiled at her and spoke.
"It’s all right."
Seeing that her new roommate didn’t mind Cao Yuqing’s impetuousness, Jiang Jiajia breathed a sigh of relief and pulled her over.
"Shuxin, let me introduce you. This is my good friend, Cao Yuqing. Yuqing, this is my roommate, Gu Shuxin. As it turns out, all three of us are in the same major."
"It’s nice to meet you, Gu Shuxin."
After Jiang Jiajia’s introduction, Cao Yuqing looked at Gu Shuxin and spoke, extending a hand. ’Now *this* is the kind of person I want to be friends with, not like those hicks in my dorm!’
"Hello, Yuqing."
Gu Shuxin shook Cao Yuqing’s outstretched hand, a flawless smile on her face.
"Oh, right, Yuqing, what were you going to tell me earlier?"
Now that Gu Shuxin and Cao Yuqing had been introduced, Jiang Jiajia remembered what Cao Yuqing had said when she burst in. Right now, it was just her and Gu Shuxin in the dorm room.
She wanted to get closer to Gu Shuxin, but she always got the feeling that Shuxin wasn’t very approachable.
Cao Yuqing’s arrival was perfectly timed. At the very least, she could liven up the atmosphere between her and Gu Shuxin.
"Right, I came here looking for you to vent."
Jiang Jiajia’s reminder brought Cao Yuqing back to her original purpose. She recounted what had just happened in her dorm, still fuming a little.
"...so that’s what happened. Jiajia, tell me, aren’t those two hicks in my dorm infuriating? How did I end up in a room with people like that! If only I could be in your dorm with you and Shuxin!"
As she spoke, Cao Yuqing glanced hopefully at Jiang Jiajia and Gu Shuxin. In her eyes, their dorm room was miles better than hers!
"It’s a shame the school has a rule that you can’t switch dorms once they’re assigned. Otherwise, it’d be great if you could move in with us."
Listening to Cao Yuqing’s story, Jiang Jiajia felt sorry for her and had already formed a bad impression of the two strangers in her friend’s dorm.
Gu Shuxin, however, seemed to fall into deep thought after hearing Cao Yuqing’s story.
"You said the people in your dorm... what were their names again?"
"One is Wang Chunhua, and the other is Shen Nian. Such tacky names."
The name Cao Yuqing found tacky was, of course, Wang Chunhua’s. But since Shen Nian had been friendly with Wang Chunhua right in front of her, making her lose face, Cao Yuqing’s impression of Shen Nian was just as bad.
"Shen Nian..."
Gu Shuxin repeated the name under her breath. Of course she had heard the name Shen Nian before. In fact, when Chu Lingxiu first told her about Shen Nian, she had mentioned that Shen Nian would be attending B University.
Back then, Gu Shuxin had already considered that they might meet at B University, but she never expected to hear about Shen Nian so soon.
Gu Shuxin had always wanted to please the Gu family, so she strove for excellence in everything she did. Getting into B University had, of course, always been her goal.
When she learned that Shen Nian was also coming to B University, Gu Shuxin had been surprised. ’For someone from the countryside to get into B University... that’s actually quite impressive!’
But now, hearing that Shen Nian had already offended a roommate on the very first day, Gu Shuxin suddenly had a thought. ’Perhaps this Shen Nian isn’t as difficult to deal with as I imagined!’
