Chapter 264: Polaris Lorna and Blink Clarice
"Don't tell me you want to target Terra."
The Black Queen, who had stayed silent until now, looked at Shaw as if she were looking at a madman.
In the past, she had thought Shaw was a ruthless hero.
A man she could not see through.
But now, Shaw seemed more like a beast driven into a corner and pushed into madness.
And the target of his final madness was actually Terra?
Wasn't that just seeking death?
The Black Queen did have her own thoughts and ambitions, and she needed to use the Hellfire Club to achieve them. But that did not mean she would hold on to the club and die with it.
The White Queen said nothing and simply stared at Shaw.
Clearly, her attitude was the same as the Black Queen's.
As for the Red Devil, no one knew what he was thinking.
This old thing had lived for who knew how many years, and no one could see through the emotions he hid.
Not even Shaw, the nominal leader of the Hellfire Club.
"I wouldn't be that stupid."
Shaw waved his hand. He unbuttoned his suit jacket, leaving it open as it swayed in the sea wind.
"Someone else will be more anxious than me."
Shaw had no intention of doing something that foolish.
First of all, the people inside would never agree. In a way, what he had said just now was also a test of the members present.
The result made his mood sink. The White Queen and the Black Queen had made their positions very clear.
If he wanted to make trouble for Terra, they would not do it, nor would they take part.
Shaw was much stronger than the Black and White Queens, but that did not mean he could casually order them to do things they did not want to do.
On the contrary, the fact that the two of them could mock Shaw in private showed that they were not afraid of him.
Everyone had their own trump cards.
And at certain times, they could also join forces to resist another side.
As for the Red Devil—
Shaw glanced at him without drawing attention. Among everyone present, the one he could understand least was this man.
Even now, he still did not know the Red Devil's past.
He only knew that he was a mutant who had lived for many years.
Shaw laughed off the tension, letting the previous topic fade away as he toasted and drank with the others, chatting casually.
However, Shaw failed to notice a flicker of deep irritation flashing in the depths of Red Devil's eyes.
In fact, it was not just Shaw who felt anxious—Red Devil was deeply frustrated as well.
Red Devil's irritation stemmed from recognizing someone.
The moment he saw the young mutant who had assassinated the President on television, he confirmed one thing.
That young mutant was his child.
A father finding his son might sound like good news, but in truth, the Red Devil did not see these children as family at all. They were only sacrifices and tools for completing his plan.
Finding a new bloodline inheritor made the Red Devil very happy.
The bad news was that this son had been taken to Terra.
The Red Devil truly did not have the courage to run into Terra and take this son away. He was afraid that before he could even find him, he would be found first by the Astartes, Raven, or the Grey Knights.
If he was captured and killed at that point, he would have nowhere to cry.
But giving up was also impossible.
This concerned his plan.
Thinking of this, the Red Devil glanced at Shaw, and a thoughtful look flashed in his eyes.
Perhaps he could make use of this Black King.

After the Mutant Immigration Act officially began,
The whole world was swept up in a massive wave of immigration.
Even in America, state governments in major cities quickly drew up mutant immigration policies. Working with the information sent over by Terra, they cooperated without conditions, providing people, money, and manpower to gather the mutants whose applications had been approved. They offered them food, drinks, and free reception, then sent them together to the city's international airport.
Several cities in Terra, including the capital, quickly built airports connected to international routes, and flights into Terra were temporarily opened.
The Terra government would also pay the air transport fees.
This even allowed those countries to earn a small profit.
That approach also helped governments feel a little more settled. Terra's style was relatively mild, not overly forceful or overbearing.
...
San Francisco Airport.
It was now February.
The temperature was gradually rising. People had already taken off their thick down jackets and sweaters, changing into simple long-sleeved T-shirts and coats.
That day, San Francisco Airport was especially lively.
Many passengers waiting to board looked with strange eyes at the group gathered ahead in the waiting hall.
There were about three hundred of them.
Some were old, some young. The oldest seemed to be around forty, while the youngest was probably not even six or seven.
They were dressed properly and did not carry much luggage. Most had only a backpack at most.
What stood out most was that San Francisco police and airport security were stationed around them for protection, making the group very eye-catching.
Looking at them, many passengers waiting to board began whispering among themselves.
"Those people are the mutants immigrating to Terra?"
"Should be. Didn't they say there are two flights to Terra today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon?"
"Wow, there are even little kids."
"Those freaks are finally leaving."
"Fuck, don't drag me with you if you want to die. Are you trying to commit racial discrimination? Don't you know the state government has already introduced an anti-mutant discrimination bill?"
"Hah. Those people are just kissing Terra's ass."
"Whatever the reason, don't do anything stupid. Those cops really will arrest you. Don't get me involved."
People had different thoughts. Most were curious, and also envious.
Clearly, in most people's eyes, immigrating to Terra was a very good choice.
Even though they were Americans, they could not avoid that feeling.
America was powerful, that was true. In the past, they had been the ones others envied, the ones who should feel proud. But now the wind had changed.
Everyone knew that besides humans, this world also had demons and all kinds of strange threats.
Compared with alien monsters that might appear at any unknown time, Terra's unmatched sense of safety was far more reassuring.
The strange looks and quiet discussions did not disturb the joy of the mutants.
In the past, they might have immediately hidden themselves.
Now, there was no need.
All of them could hold their heads high, because they were Terrans now. No one could bully them, and no one would hurt them.
If anyone truly dared to try, the San Francisco police would act at once.
"Hey, man, what's your name? I'm Marcos Diaz, eighteen, from Texas."
"John. Twenty-six. From Minnesota."
"Wow, I've never been to Minnesota. Are all these people with you?"
"Yeah. They're all my companions. We were avoiding capture."
"Well, it's all over now. No one will deliberately hurt us anymore."
"Yeah."
Among them, a girl with long green hair and fair skin, wearing black leather armor, a white T-shirt, and jeans, was quietly watching the crowd and listening.
Suddenly, she felt someone bump into her and quickly turned around.
It was a very pretty Asian girl with black hair, about the same age as her.
The girl seemed a little shy and hurriedly apologized in a soft voice. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you."
"No problem. I'm Lorna Dane, codename Polaris. Sixteen. What about you?"
The green-haired Lorna waved it off generously, then looked the girl over as she asked.
"My name is Clarice Ferguson. I'm sixteen too. As for my codename, it's Blink."
"Blink? That's cool. Are you American?"
Lorna asked with some curiosity. After all, the girl's Asian features were very obvious, but her name sounded very American.
Normally, if someone was Asian, their name would usually carry some Asian traits.
"I was born in America. My father was an Asian immigrant," Clarice answered softly.
"I see."
Lorna looked at the timid Clarice. For some reason, she felt the girl was like a small cautious animal, wary of everything around her.
So her sympathy rose, and she took the initiative to chat with Clarice.
Since they were both mutants and were both immigrating to Terra, their conversation went very smoothly.
After all, anyone who passed Terra's official application review could be trusted not to be a bad person.
So neither of them was too guarded.
As they talked, both girls brought up their pasts. Each had the classic mutant kind of painful history.
Their similar experiences quickly brought them closer.
After chatting for a while, they heard the staff calling for registration.
With excitement and nerves, the two girls followed the crowd through the final boarding security check and got onto the passenger plane.
Everyone boarded, and the seats had already been arranged. Lorna and Clarice were not seated together, so Lorna took the initiative to speak with the mutant sitting beside Clarice.
That mutant was very straightforward and agreed to switch seats with her.
The two new friends happily started chatting again.
As they talked, the plane soon took off.
Lorna felt a little uncomfortable at first and closed her eyes.
In truth, she shared a common trait with many mutants: emotional swings could cause her ability to go out of control.
But after her application was approved, she and the other mutants had been gathered together by the state government and given an inhibitor.
This inhibitor was specially used to suppress mutant abilities.
It had been provided by the Terra government.
It had no lethality.
Its purpose was to ensure that no mutant abilities went out of control during transport.
The inhibitor worked very well. Lorna could feel that her ability showed no sign of losing control, so after the initial discomfort, once the plane reached cruising altitude, she quickly adjusted.
This direct flight from San Francisco International Airport to Terra's capital was expected to take about eleven hours.
The treatment inside the passenger plane was very good. Food, water, drinks, snacks, and everything else were all provided.
These small details greatly eased the mutants' unease.
Lorna was open and carefree. She called the flight attendant and asked for a large pile of snacks and juice. She even took out quite a few of her favorite snacks from her backpack and gave them to Clarice.
Clarice shared her own snacks in return.
The two girls happily ate snacks, drank juice, and imagined what life in Terra would be like.
What the two girls, and the other mutants, did not expect was that a small accident would happen on this flight.
Someone was about to make trouble.
Less than half an hour after takeoff, the accident happened. Inside the cockpit, the captain, who had appeared to be flying normally, suddenly froze as a cold glint flashed across his eyes, leaving his gaze empty.
