Chapter 194: Hell’s Kitchen Beneath the Shadow of the Black Raven Emblem

"Luke? Jessica?"

That night, after playing outside for the entire day, Matthew returned to the manor villa with Carrie.

Then he received a message from the Intelligence Department.

Jessica wanted to mobilize New York's resources to handle something.

Matthew really had not expected Jessica to have come into contact with Luke Cage so early in her debut. It was a small surprise.

Originally, Matthew had planned to give the Punisher, that outlaw maniac, a little help.

Since things had lined up so neatly, he might as well let Jessica handle it all at once.

So Matthew followed the situation and issued an order.

It was normal for Jessica to be able to mobilize resources.

Jessica was now a soldier of the Raven Warband.

After Matthew integrated HYDRA, Margrave's assets, and their resources, he had heavily developed the organization's peripheral members. The number of people who had joined had already exceeded one hundred thousand.

That number seemed large, but once spread across the entire world, it was not that much.

Bases all over the world were vigorously absorbing manpower.

If not for the need for screening and background checks, and if recruitment were truly opened without restriction, that number would probably increase more than tenfold.

Compared with a world-class giant organization like S.H.I.E.L.D., the number of members was still far behind.

No matter what, the resources Matthew could mobilize were still world-class.

As the highest-sequence armed forces under Matthew, the two warbands held a unique position. Their members might only be ordinary soldiers within the two warbands, but to the organization as a whole, every one of them was an absolute core senior member.

Each member had their own exclusive code number, representing the considerable authority each of them possessed.

Whether for personal matters or missions, they could mobilize a portion of the organization's resources.

Jessica was the same.

So Jessica's big promise to Luke was not empty boasting. The young girl had already become a true big figure.

Forget a small gang in Hell's Kitchen. Even if it were a world-class oligarchic criminal syndicate, as long as Jessica mobilized resources, she could destroy it all the same.

Matthew would not interfere in this aspect.

This was the power and status they deserved. They were fully loyal to him, followed him, and were willing to risk their lives in his service. Naturally, Matthew had to give them corresponding benefits in return.

Whether money or power.

When there was contribution, there had to be reward. This was the core principle Matthew had set as Leader.

A black-hearted boss could not go far.

Since Jessica was handling the Punisher's side, Matthew simply stopped paying attention to it and continued living his slower-paced life.

Was it not pleasant to watch Carrie happily chat with Gwen on the phone, chattering brightly and laughing openly?

…

Night.

The major gang bosses of Hell's Kitchen experienced the shock of their lives.

While gang members were frantically searching all over Hell's Kitchen for their target, creating a lively scene, every gang—including Kingpin—received a message.

It arrived on their personal phones.

When they opened it, they saw an emblem.

A black raven with its wings spread, a single drop of blood flowing from its abdomen. The emblem looked almost alive.

After that came a warning.

The content was simple: withdraw all actions against the Punisher.

Attached to it was another set of information.

At first, the gang bosses only sneered and looked indifferent. But once they opened the file, they discovered that it contained records of their various businesses—black-market operations, gray-area industries, and even their legitimate fronts.

The details were so precise that their expressions changed drastically.

A chill of horror rose in their hearts.

And that was only the beginning.

Soon after, they received messages from their trusted subordinates, saying that several of their businesses had been struck.

Those strikes caused them heavy losses, enough to hurt badly, but not enough to drive them insane.

Clearly, this was a warning.

It meant they had only one chance. If they failed to take it, the next strike would be full-scale.

Faced with a warning from a force whose identity they did not even know, none of them felt anger. Only cold fear.

In front of ordinary people, they were ruthless and cruel gangsters.

But in front of a force at this level, they were nothing more than ants.

So without the slightest hesitation, the gangs immediately recalled their men and canceled all operations.

As for the Punisher?

Whoever wanted to look for him could go ahead. It was obvious that there was an extremely mysterious organization with enormous power supporting him from behind.

They could not afford to provoke them.

Not at all.

Even Kingpin, the moment he saw that emblem, immediately thought of another group.

On the night of the Manhattan incident, when the demons invaded, he had personally seen that group in red windbreakers slaughter those monsters right before his eyes.

His superhuman physical quality gave him eyesight far beyond ordinary people, and he had seen that the absurdly powerful women had that same emblem on the shoulders of their red windbreakers.

Although those women had moved far too quickly, he had still been able to make out a little through the blur.

After comparing the two, Kingpin was basically certain in his heart that the ones warning him were that mysterious and powerful army from that night.

Thinking about it further, the two monster-like women who had come to find him back then were likely also members of that same group from Manhattan.

And so, Kingpin backed down.

He even cursed the Punisher inwardly.

Why the hell didn't you say so earlier? If you'd said you were connected to those monsters, would I have dared to touch you? Wouldn't that just be suicide?

Without hesitation, Kingpin recalled Bullseye and the others, who had gone out to earn the bounty and kill while they were at it.

He even contacted the other gang bosses in Hell's Kitchen one by one and gave them a warning.

Give me, Kingpin, some face. Behave yourselves. If you drag me into this, I'll send every last one of you away.

Kingpin's influence was beyond doubt, and it added another layer of mystery to that night.

Only one person was unwilling to accept it.

That person was Finn, the leader of the Irish mafia.

He did not care about Kingpin, nor did he care about some mysterious force. He only cared about one person.

His son.

His son had been killed by the Punisher, so Finn ignored the so-called warning. He led his Irish men and continued searching for the Punisher.

With Finn sparing no cost, he finally found a lead.

Luke Cage, the owner of Luke's Bar on 40th Street in the southwest side of Hell's Kitchen, had saved the Punisher.

So Finn immediately gathered his followers, brought all their firepower, and headed for the bar without hesitation, surrounding it completely.

Coincidentally, this place was one of the core areas of the Irish mafia.

There was no need to step into the territory of any other gang.

However, what Finn never expected was that just as he brought his men to surround the bar and was about to storm the second-floor living area where Luke stayed...

Kingpin arrived.

And not just Kingpin. Other gangs came too—the Vipers, the Tracksuits, Hammerhead, the Hellhounds biker gang, and even the most mysterious ninja gang, the Hand.

These bosses brought large groups of men and surrounded Finn and his people.

That night, Luke's Bar became extraordinarily lively.
